Joseph "Joe" Delgado Ramirez, 79, of 339 South Bonita Avenue, died Saturday afternoon in a local hospital. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced later.

PAUL NORMAN TUNO
Mr. Paul Tuno, 69, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away suddenly Oct. 4, 2001. He had been a resident since 1989, moving here from Philadelphia where he was a proud member of Teamsters Local 107. Trained as a meat cutter, he opted for the open road and delivered beef for Diamond Meat Company for many years. Paul was one of seven children born to Anthony and Rose Tuno of Hammonton, N.J. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Robert and Phillip. The family takes joy in knowing that Paul has now been reunited with the love of his life, Anne, his wife of 49 years who passed away 4 years ago. Paul is survived by his brothers Richard Tuno of Dallas, Texas, and Ralph Tuno, of Philadelphia, Pa.; and his sisters, Florence Myrick of Panama City, Fla., Margaret Rumpella of Pottstown, Pa., and Marie Ilg of King of Prussia, Pa. Paul also leaves five children to mourn his loss, Robert Tuno and wife Teresa, Sandra Morrison and husband Greg, of Panama City, Fla., Paula Hudy and husband Marty, Diane Lashley and husband Mark, of Philadelphia, Pa., and Lisa Parsons and husband Tom of Stratford, N.J. Paul was also blessed with grandchildren Joey Sweeney, Mark Lashley, Tara and Alaina Parsons, Nicholas Tuno, Samantha and Jason Tuno. Funeral services for Mr. Tuno will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, at St. John's Catholic Church with Father Andrew Lewandowski, C.R. officiating Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers are: Tom Parsons, Greg Morrison, Mark Lashley, Marty Hudy, Mike Eschan, and Rick Race. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m.

JOHN FOY 'JOHNNY' SCHEFFER
Mr. John Foy "Johnny" Scheffer, 40, of Beacon Hill, Fla., died Friday evening Oct. 5, 2001, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Port St.Joe, and was a Construction worker and was Baptist by faith. Mr.Scheffer also was a 1978 graduate of Port St. Joe High School. Mr. Scheffer is survived by his fiance: Rhonda Kay Latta of Beacon Hill and daughter Heather Nicole Latta; two daughters, Melinda Palso of Tampa, Fla., and Elizabeth Marguerite Scheffer of Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers, Richard Carlton Scheffer and wife Gayle, James Albert Scheffer and wife Janice, and Larry Wayne Scheffer and wife Vickie; one sister, Sandra Scheffer Williams and husband Charles; nephews, Doug Williams, Albert Scheffer and Nickolas Scheffer; nieces, Wendy Sutton, Shelby Scheffer and Julia Scheffer. Funeral services for Mr. Scheffer will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) Tuesday, at the Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Port St. Joe with the Rev. John Adkins and Rev. Davd Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Gilmore-Southerland Funeral Home Chapel on Monday Oct. 8, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. (EST.) Donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Honor of Mr. Scheffer.

Funeral services for Edwin Boswell Wimberly will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley and the Rev. Bill Hickem officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites to be conducted at the graveside by the Acme Masonic Lodge. Active pallbearers will be Ed Grant, Doyle Kirkland, Henry Kracke, David Smith, Coy Gay, Tom Torgersen, Chuck Pritchard and Sam Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Acme Masonic Lodge, Deacons and the Richard Galloway Sunday school class of First Baptist Church and the nurses and staff of the St. Andrews Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The Acme Masonic lodge will open at 9 a.m. on Monday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Memorial Fund of First Baptist Church in memory of Ed Wimberly.

DANE ALLEN YARD
Mr. Dane Allen Yard retired United States Navy Senior Master Chief, age 55, of Orange Park, Fla., passed away Oct. 3, 2001, in a Gainesville, Fla., hospital. He was a former resident of Panama City. Mr. Yard served his country 28 years in the United States Navy and was a 1964 graduate of Bay High School. Mr. Yard was of Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife: Ruby "Cookie" Yard of Orange Park, Fla.; three sons, Kendall Yard and his wife Andrea of Maine, Ricky Yard and Edward Yard both of Orange Park, Fla., and a daughter Tammy of Pensacola, Fla.; father, Edward James Yard; five grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Fowhand of Panama City; two aunts; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Virginia Yard. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, at graveside in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Taylor Hodges officiating. U.S. Navy Honor Guard will provide full military honors. Family will receive friends today, Oct. 7, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home , 763-4694.

THOMAS J. WEBB
Mr. Thomas J. Webb, 74, of 432 Iola Street, Oak Grove, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2000, at Gulf Coast Hospital following a short illness. He was born and raised in Apalachicola and served his country by entering the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr Webb was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Port St. Joe, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Panama City and retired from St. Joe Paper Company after 43 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Walker; his stepfather, Berry Walker; a brother, Robert Webb; and a half-sister, Marie Denton. Survivors include his wife, Shirley M. Webb of Port St. Joe; a daughter, Linda Kay Whitfield and husband David; a son, Mike Webb and wife Stacy, both of Howard Creek; one granddaughter, Joyelle Whitfield; two grandsons, George Whitfield and Channon Whitfield; and one great-granddaughter, Kristin Kayla Whitfield, all of Howard Creek. The visitation will be held today at Comforter Funeral Home from 7 until 9 p.m. The funeral services will be at the Comforter Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the family plot in Holly Hill Cemetery.

JOSEPH 'JOE' DELGADO RAMIREZ
Joseph "Joe" Delgado Ramirez, 79, died Saturday, October 6, 2001, in a local hospital. Mr. Ramirez grew up in Panama City and was a graduate of Bay County High School in 1941. He later attended a technical training school in Nashville, Tenn. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II (European Theatre) as a medic and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. He later served in the Florida National Guard for more than 22 years and achieved the position of Company Commander of the local unit. Mr. Ramirez professional career was spent at the Naval Coastal Systems Laboratory where he did design work for the U.S. Navy and held several patents for various system designs. He retired after 35 years from NCSL in 1983. He was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church, a charter member and past Grand Knight of the Knight's of Columbus, an official of the NCSL Credit Union for 20 years, and a member of the BPO Elks Club. Mr. Ramirez is survived by his wife, Voncille Adams Ramirez; sons, Richard T. Ramirez, Dennis J. Ramirez and his wife, Mona Gainer Ramirez of Panama City, David A. Ramirez and Alice A. Lebron of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and a daughter, Anita Ramirez Dyches and her husband, Jim Dyches of Miami, Fla.; grandchildren, Richard J. Ramirez, Darin W. Ramirez, Jordan L. Ramirez, Kenneth R. Dyches, Monica M. Dyches, Angela N. Dyches; a brother, Fred Ramirez of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Mary Hernandez of Pensacola, Fla. Other close family members include Pat Hernandez, Rita Sorrentino Cole and her husband, David, Cynthia Sorrentino Hancock and her husband, Gary, Bonnie Ramirez and Laurence Dukate. He was preceded in death by his father, Dionzio Ramirez; his mother, Juanita Ramirez; and three brothers, John, Tony, and Jesse Ramirez. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Marty Bratek officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the St. John's Catholic Church Building Fund in memory of Joe Ramirez.
