Mr. Jerry L. Hauser, 33, of Panama City, Fla., passed away, Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended Rutherford High School. Mr. Hauser is survived by his father, Samuel R. Hauser of Oberlin, La.; his mother, Dorothy Krouse of Panama City, Fla.; stepmother, Kathy Hauser of Oberlin, La.; a daughter, Ashley Hauser of Panama City; maternal grandmother, Ruth Hauser of Panama City; paternal grandparents, Bob and Betty Fisk of Panama City; three brothers, Bo Hauser of New Iberia, La., Toby Hauser of Panama City, and David Hauser of Oberlin, La.; stepfather, Dave Krouse of Panama City; and an aunt, Marsha Rogaski of Panama City. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at the East Bay Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom McCardle officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

MAYBELL McNEILL
Maybell McNeill, 94, of Chipley, Fla., passed from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, in Chipley, Fla. She was a lifelong resident of Chipley, Fla. She was of the Methodist Faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chipley, Fla. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lee Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home Directing. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until time for the service on Friday, Nov. 9, at the First United Methodist Church, Chipley. Mrs. McNeill is preceded in death by her husband, James S. McNeill. She is survived by one son, James A. McNeill and wife, Barbara, Belle Glade, Fla.; one daughter, Dorothy Clarke and husband, Ward, Chipley; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. LEO JACK 'LEE' ROBERTS SR.
Mr. Leo Jack "Lee" Roberts Sr., 72, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at his residence. He was born in Miami, Fla., and had lived in Bay County most of his life. Mr. Roberts was retired as a master sergeant after serving 22 years in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. After his retirement, he spent 20 years in the construction industry. He was a member of Hiland Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Nolene Roberts of Panama City; three sons, Leo J. Roberts Jr. and his wife, Carol, George H. Roberts and his wife, Angela, and Austin M. Roberts, all of Panama City; a granddaughter, Kelly M. Kyser and her husband, Anthony, of Panama City; great-granddaughter, Katelyn Kyser of Panama City; two stepsons, Kent Peck and his wife, Lori, of Wichita, Kan., and Kyle Peck of Panama City; a stepdaughter, Kala Mercer of Panama City; three step-grandchildren, Alexandra and Emily Peck of Wichita, Kan., and Chad Mercer of Panama City; his mother, Emma Faircloth of Fargo, Ga.; two sisters, Cleo June Hird of Ringgold, Ga., and Helen Padgett of Fargo, Ga.; and a brother, Lamar Canington and his wife, Diane, of Naples, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Julia Anne Roberts. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Bass and the Rev. Harry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will include his church family from Hiland Park United Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 8, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund of the Hiland Park United Methodist Church.

MARVIN STUKEY SR.
Mr. Marvin Stukey Sr., 86, of Deer Point Lake, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bay County. Mr. Stukey began his career as a land surveyor, working throughout Florida for 35 years. He also worked with the Army Corps of Engineers and retired as a deputy property appraiser for Bay County after 21 years. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Southport. Mr. Stukey is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine Stukey, of Deer Point Lake; two sons, Marvin H. Stukey Jr. and his wife, Janice, of Chipley, and Joseph Stukey of Gulf Breeze; three daughters, Carol Mercer and her husband, Jackie, Marsha Rivera and her husband, Nick, and Angela Bowden and her husband, Charles, all of Panama City; four brothers, Joseph Stukey of Lakeland, Donald Stukey of Rolla, Mo., and James Stukey and Jack Stukey, both of Panama City; grandchildren, Michelle Shadoan, Deanna Mercer, Justin Mercer, Stephen and Joseph Stukey, David and John Stukey, Christina Noel Rivera and Desiree Rivera, and Brandy Bowden; one great-grandchild, Stephanie Shadoan; and his sisters, Beryl Stukey, Opal Stukey, Ruth Stukey, and Virginia Miller, all of Southport, and Doris Johnson of Deer Point Lake. He was preceded in death by his son, Harry Stukey. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Raley, the Rev. Joe Sellers, and the Rev. Dallas Pettis. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Nathan Stukey, Ashley Stukey, Gareth Miller, Joel Miller, Jamie Stukey, and Joseph C. Stukey. Honorary pallbearers will include the adult Sunday school class of Southport Assembly of God, Dale Hartzog, Richard Davis, Tilton Edwards, Clifton Reeder, and Charles Peters. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 8, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m.

WILLIAM T. 'BILL' THARP
Mr. William T. "Bill" Tharp, 52, of Port St. Joe, Fla., passed away on Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, 2001, in a local hospital. Born in Clio, Ala., he moved to Port St. Joe in 1995 from Phenix City, Ala. He was an auto mechanic/auto parts sales person and a member of the Beach Baptist Chapel in Port St. Joe. His father, Tullis Tharp, precedes him in death. Mr. Tharp is survived by his wife, Sarah Watford Tharp of Port St. Joe, Fla.; his mother, Erma Tharp of Phenix City, Ala.; three daughters, Cindy Lynch of North Carolina, Rita Hollinsworth and Frances "Peanut" Tousignant, both of Port St. Joe, Fla.; three sons, David Tharp and William Sanders, both of Columbus, Ga., and Wesley Walden of Phenix City, Ala.; one brother, Mark Tharp of Phenix City, Ala.; one sister, Bobby Sapp of Columbus, Ga.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, James and Odie Watford; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at 11 a.m. EST in the Beach Baptist Chapel with the Rev. David Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. EST.

WILMA NELL THURSBAY BARKS
Wilma Nell Thursbay Barks, 60, of Carrabelle, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, in Ochlocknee Bay, Fla. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Nov. 9, at the First Assembly of God Church in Carrabelle with the Rev. John Johnson and Superintendent Rev. Don Price officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Carrabelle. The Carrabelle Ministerial Association and all pastoral friends will serve as honorary pallbearers. Born Sept. 29, 1941, in Panama City, Fla., Mrs. Barks was the daughter of the Rev. Ernestine Cannington Thursbay and the late Wilmer Eulice Thursbay Sr. She was a pastor's wife and an office manager of South Point, LTD Wholesalers. Mrs. Barks was co-founder with her husband of the AGAPE Ministries. She was in the Senior Adult Ministries (S.A.M.) of the West Florida District Level. She was Hospice Advisory council of the Big Bend Area. She ministered alongside her husband for over 37 years. Mrs. Barks was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Carrabelle. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ronnell Carmel Barks. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Ronald Barks of Carrabelle; daughters, Marie B. Walker and husband, Bill, of Tallahassee, Fla., Ellen B. Stone and husband, Alan, of Moultrie, Gwen Barks and Teresa Ann B. Region, both of Tallahassee; brothers, Ernest Thursbay of Port St. Joe, Fla., and W.E. Thursbay Jr. of Panama City; two grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Walker and William Paul Walker II, both of Tallahassee; and several nieces and nephews. The family may be contacted at the family residence, 303 W. Third St., Carrabelle, Fla. Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mary M. Causby, 75, of 910 Bradley Circle, Lynn Haven, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1969 moving here from Florala, Ala. She was a retired nurse's aid for Wagner Nursing Home. She is survived by four sons, Glen Causby, Lee Causby, Keith Causby, Michael Mehaffey; five daughters, Lisa Smith, Carolyn Gatewood, Barbara Sanders, Marlene King, Regina Porter; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Glen Fuqua; and a sister, Margaret Coon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Josh Causby, Josh Allen, Patrick Allen, Wayne Porter, Stephen Smith, Sam Smith, Walt Sanders and Jed Redd. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6-8 p.m.

Funeral services for Mr. Elgin L. "Popeye" Fields Jr., 60, of Panama City Beach, Fla., who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, will be held 4 p.m. today, Nov. 9, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. JERRY MICHAEL 'MIKE' LOVE
Mr. Jerry Michael "Mike" Love, 32, of Panama City, Fla., left his earthly family to be with his Heavenly Family on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was an award-winning videographer. Mr. Love was very involved in the community and with the United Way. He produced the many videos for the United Way Campaign. Mr. Love is survived by his mother, Ara Love of Panama City; his father and stepmother, Jerry and Phyllis Love of Port Arthur, Texas; sisters, Karla Melvin and her husband, David, and Lisa Love, all of Panama City; nieces, Katie Mapes, Braylea Melvin, and Delaney Jackson, all of Panama City, Fla.; a nephew, Jared Melvin of Panama City; grandparents, Carol and Nell Love of Panama City; his cat, Sweetie; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with his best friend, Mr. David Hecht, officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include Andrew Pate, Jason Pate, Mike Pate, Jeffrey Outlaw, Logan Johnson, and his special friends at the Panama City Police Department.
