ROBERT 'BOB' METCALFE
Robert "Bob" Metcalfe, 70, of Panama City, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at his home. He was a native of Warwick, R.I., and has been living in Bay County for the past four years. He was retired from Kent County Hospital in Rhode Island as director of engineering. Mr. Metcalfe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army. He was an avid hunter and sailor, having completed a lifelong dream of successfully making a solo trans-Atlantic Ocean crossing. Mr. Metcalfe is survived by his wife, Diane Metcalfe, of Panama City; two daughters, Tinka Lavigne of New York and Donna Roy of Rhode Island; one sister, Joan Jacobs Virginia; one brother-in-law, Log Whaley of Panama City Beach; and five grandchildren. The family request memorialization by cremation.

BETTY JEAN JENKINS PARAMORE
Mrs. Betty Jean Jenkins Paramore, 68, of 604 E. Seventh Court, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City. She attended public schools of Bay County. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Carie and Lee Jenkins; two sisters, Elizabeth Nelson and Mary Jean Smith; and a loving husband, Robert Paramore. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary True Holiness Church. She is survived by two daughters, Melinda Jean Jenkins Thomas (John Henry) and Brenda Stevenson-Holmes (Nathaniel Sr.), both of Panama City; loving grandchildren, Nathaniel Holmes Jr., Maria and Brayon Stevenson; special daughter, Beverly Jean Stanley of Panama City; four sisters, Elder Margret Smith (Deaon Albert) of Panama City, Bertha Tinsly (Peter) of Marianna, Catherine Andrews (Bishop John) and Johnell Andrews (Harry), both of Ebro; devoted brother, Bishop Richard Jenkins Sr. (Ella Ree), of Ebro; a very special friend, Mr. Evans; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Paramore, will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. in the All Saints Holiness Church with the Bishop Richard Jenkins Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The remains will repose this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mt. Calvary True Holiness Church, 1006 MacArthur Ave., and will lie in state on Saturday in the All Saints Holiness Church from 9 a.m. until service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at 604 E. Seventh Court.

Funeral services for Mr. Marvin Stukey Sr., 86, of Deer Point Lake, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, will be held 1 p.m. today, Nov. 9, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Raley, the Rev. Joe Sellers, and the Rev. Dallas Pettis. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

ARTHUR 'MAX' JORDAN
Mr. Arthur "Max" Jordan, 80, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1946, coming here from Graceville, Fla., and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Jordan served his country in the U. S. Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from the Naval Coastal Systems Station after 30 years. Mr. Jordan was an avid gardener who loved flowers. His hobbies were fishing, dancing, and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Jordan, of Panama City; three sons, Douglas Jordan and his wife, Beth, of Alachua, Fla., Terry Jordan and his wife, Michelle, of San Diego, Calif., and Tommy Jordan and his wife, Cheri, of Panama City; the mother of his sons, Minnie Jordan of Panama City; grandchildren, Dustin, Kim, Gabriel, Ross, Clifford, and Julia; two great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters; three stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Pledger officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001 from 4 until 7 p.m.

WILLIAM JAMES PETTIT SR.
William James Pettit Sr., 88, of 3109 W. 22nd St., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a service manager for the Army and Air Force Exchange Base. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He served in the Army during World War II. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1959, moving here from West Palm Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Marie Pettit. He is survived by two sons, Bill Pettit II of Panama City, Michael T. Pettit and his wife, Ronna, of Edgefield, S.C., daughter, Linda Chizmar and husband, Marty, of Woodstock, Ga., grandchildren, Michelle Pettit, Danielle Chizmar, Allyson Chizmar, all of Woodstock, Ga., Jennifer Pettit, Thomas Pettit, both of Edgefield, S.C., sister, Martha Koeingsmark of Homosassa, Fla., brother, Walter Pettit of Rome, Ga., and brother-in-law, Fount McCormack of Port Saint Richie, Fla. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.

JERRY MICHAEL 'MIKE' LOVE
Mr. Jerry Michael "Mike" Love, 32, of Panama City, Fla., left his earthly family to be with his Heavenly Family on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was an award winning videographer. Mr. Love was very involved in the community and with the United Way. He produced the many videos for the United Way Campaign. Mr. Love is survived by his mother, Ara Love of Panama City; his father and stepmother, Jerry and Phyllis Love of Port Arthur, Texas; sisters, Karla Melvin and her husband David and Lisa Love, all of Panama City; nieces, Katie Mapes, Braylea Melvin, and Delaney Jackson, all of Panama City, Fla.; a nephew, Jared Melvin of Panama City; grandparents, Carl and Nell Love of Panama City; his cat: Sweetie; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. today, Nov. 10, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with his best friend, Mr. David Hecht, officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include Andrew Pate, Jason Pate, Mike Pate, Jeffrey Outlaw, Logan Johnson, and his special friends at the Panama City Police Department. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the United Way, 518 Mulberry Ave., Panama City, FL 32401, in Michael's name.

WILLIAM 'LAPRESE' BULLOCK
Mr. William "Laprese" Bullock, age 77, of Panama City, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Panama City Nursing Center after a three year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was a native of Detroit, Mich., and had lived in Panama City since 1963, moving here from Dayton, Ohio. Mr. Bullock served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and retired after 40 years as a televison sales and repair person. He was the former owner of Bullock's Television and Appliance Service. Mr. Bullock was a long time member of Gulf Beach Baptist Church. In 1991, he and his wife moved to Panama City and joined Cook Memorial. He was an active member of the Motel and Restaurant Association of Panama City Beach. Mr. Bullock and his wife enjoyed RV'ing and traveled across the United States for sixteen years. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Bullock of Panama City, whom he married in 1973; three sisters-in-law, Pearl Barnette of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Marie Elenburg of Panama City, and Blanche Hollen and her husband, Roger, of Niceville; a brother-in-law, Grady Jeffres and his wife, Lois, of Panama City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will include his Sunday School Class from Cook Memorial. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 11, 2001, from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.

EUNICE CANNON
Miss Eunice Cannon, age 95, of Panama City, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a native of Arkansas, and retired after 42 years as a high school Spanish and Latin instructor. She had lived in Panama City for the last nine years, and was a member of the Stephens United Methodist Church in Stephens, Ark. Miss Cannon is survived by her niece, Julia Works of Panama City; a great-nephew, Mark Works and his wife, Lisa, of New Orleans; great-great-nieces, Christy Works and Katy Roberts and her husband, Chris; a niece, Virginia Marks of Round Rock, Texas; a great-nephew, Davis Marks and his wife, Sara, of Round Rock, Texas; and a great-great-nephew, Noah Marks. She also leaves her special friends, Tubal and Dot Cain of Panama City, Ted and Mary Ann Rains of Lynn Haven, and Hazel Mack of Panama City. No services will be held locally. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at Stephens Cemetery in Stephens, Ark. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Stephens, Ark., United Methodist Church.
