Mrs. Lois V. Edinger, age 81, of Munster, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in Panama City, Fla. Mrs. Edinger was born in Granville, Ill., and raised her family in Northern Indiana . She had been a resident of Panama City for two years. She was also a homemaker and cared for the elderly for many years in Indiana . She loved and enjoyed her family and demonstrated a spirit and joyfulness that all who knew her loved. Mrs. Edinger married Paul C. Edinger, April 27, 1940, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by five sisters and three brothers. She is survived by Russell, Jody, and Amy Edinger of Munster, Ind.; Robert Edinger, David and Debi Edinger of Panama City; her sister, Verda Todd of Branson, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 11th St. and Balboa Ave., with the Rev. Wes Toncre officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Nov. 29, 2001, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2012 A Lisenby Ave., Panama City, FL 32405.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Doris M. Fitzgerald, age 62, of Panama City, Fla., who passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 29, 2001, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dan Estes officiating. Interment will follow.

SARAH EDITH HENDERSON
Ms. Sarah Edith Henderson, age 75, of 409 N. MacArthur Ave., Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at her home. She was a resident of Panama City, moving here from Dothan, Ala. Ms. Henderson retired from West Florida Gas Company. She is survived by two sisters, Thelma A. Kelly of Panama City and Johnnie Daugette of Crestview, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 2 to 4 p.m. Committal services will follow immediately after the visitation in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum in the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family request, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Covenant Hospice, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, FL 32405, will be greatly appreciated.

KATHERINE LOUISE SPATZ
Katherine Louise Spatz, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2001, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1993 moving here from New Jersey. She was a member of Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church, the Craftie Ladies, Garden Club and Surviving Spouses. She is survived by two daughters, D. Arlene Minch and her husband, Frank, Barbara Kovac and her husband, John, all of New Jersey; four grandchildren, Frank J. Minch and his wife, Pamela, Christine Molitor and her husband, Patrick, John Kovac and his wife, Elaine, Kim Kovac; great-grandchild, John Mathew Kovac; brother, Raymond Host; and sister, Margaret Patton. A memorial service will be held today at 1 p.m. in the Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ken Churchill officiating. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church in memory of Katherine Spatz.

THOMAS P. STENSON JR.
Mr. Thomas P. Stenson Jr. departed from this world suddenly Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at the age of 47. He was born and raised in Kingston, N.Y., the son of Thomas P. Stenson Sr. of Kingston, N.Y. and Elizabeth Ahl Latimer of Panama City, Fla. He attended St. George College in Baltimore, Md., and graduated from Harry Lundenburg School of Seamanship in Piney Point Md. Mr. Stenson resided in Bay County, Fla., for 20 years and was known as "Doc" by the building industry and commercial fisherman. Survivors include a great-aunt, Dot Hoffman; and aunts, Karen Stenson and Irene Malesky; uncles, Jack and Jim Stenson and John Ahl; and his loving companion, Rena Boggus. Memorial services will be held at the Unity of Panama City Church, 1764 Lisenby Ave., Panama City, Fla., at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001. Private interment of ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a love offering in his memory to the Unity Church of Panama City.

OPAL THOMAS
Opal Thomas, 76, of Port St. Joe, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, in Bay Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Calhoun County and a resident of Gulf County for the the past 65 years, Ms. Thomas is survived by her two daughters, Bennye Lou Nelson and husband, George of Crestview and Fleeca Lancaster of Port St. Joe; three grandchildren, David Glaze of Crestview, Raymond Nelson of Long Beach Calif., and Wanda Nelson of Orlando; one sister, Evelyn Raffield and husband, Carl of St. Joe Beach; three brothers, Billy Branch and wife, Nadine of Port St. Joe, Freddie M. Branch and wife, Henrietta of White City and Harold Branch and wife, Catherine of Tallahassee. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, at the Honeyville Methodist Church at 10 a.m. CST with the Rev. Gus Howerton officiating. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. The viewing will be held at the church today from 6 to 8 p.m. CST. Those who wish may make a donation to the Cancer Society in Ms. Thomas' memory.

JESSE D. TURNER SR.
Mr. Jesse D. Turner Sr., age 95, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at a local retirement center. He had been a resident of the area since 1945, coming here from Crestview, Fla. Mr. Turner was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church and the Keystone Sunday class. He was active in the Oakland Terrace Men's Club for many years and was a engineer for the Florida Dept. of Transportation, retiring after 38 years. Mr. Turner is survived by a son, Jesse D. Turner Jr. and his wife, Jan of Hanover, N.H.; six grandchildren, Susan Dean, Robert Ake, Sharon Ilderton, Janice Redfern, Erik Turner and Scott Turner; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Summers Turner. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Dewey Davidson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

MARGARET DREWSELLA BROWN
Margaret Drewsella Brown, 64, a native of Tallahassee, died Nov. 28, 2001, after a long illness. Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, at New Light Church, 480 New Light Church Road, Crawfordville, Fla. The family will receive friends today, Nov. 30, from 6 to 9 p.m. at New Light Church. A native of Tallahassee, she lived in Moultrie, Ga., for the past 10 years. She was the widow of Charles F. Brown. She is survived by four sons, William C. Brown of Tallahassee, Marty F. Brown of Bainbridge, Ga., James O. Brown of Tallahassee, and Marty F. Brown of Moultrie; three daughters, Marsha E. Lewis of Perry, Fla., Sharon R. Walker of Moultrie, and C. Lynnett Powell of Crawfordville. She was preceded in death by her brother, Junior Sims, and is survived by one brother, Willie E. Sims of Tallahassee; and three sisters, Jennette S. Mims, Barbara Mims of Tallahassee and Merry A. McSmith of Faceville, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family would like to recognize Uncle Benny and Aunt Jackie Sims for their love and concern. She was deeply loved by her children and will be forever with us in our hearts.

Mrs. Edna Smith Dykes, 90, of 400 Spring Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at a local hospital. Mrs. Dykes was born in Enterprise, Ala., and was a member of the House of Prayer and also a supporter of the Foreign Ministries. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Bates of Apopka, Fla.; sister, Ruth Pepper of Jacksonville, N.C.; brother, Cecil Ezell and his wife, Dorothy, of Vidalia, La.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ezell; and by many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Dykes; her mother and father; and one brother, Oscar Ezell. Funeral services for Mrs. Dykes will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at House of Prayer, located at the corner of 15th Street and Transmitter Road, with the Rev. Buford Carter officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the House of Prayer. Flowers will be received at the church after 4 p.m. today. The family will be staying at the home of Fred and Patsy Carter, 311 Sanders Lane, Panama City.
