Mr. Curtis Frazier Hardy, 69, of White City, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in Port St. Joe. He has been a resident of White City and a fire chief for over 40 years. Mr. Hardy was a retired security guard for the St. Joe Paper Co. He attended the Highland View Church of God. Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Betty F. Hardy of White City; one son, Harold Hardy and wife, Ann, of Blakely, Ga.; three daughters, Diane Baxley and husband, Daniel, of Virginia Beach, Va., Myra Lynn Chamberlain of Graceville, Sharon Linton and husband, Frank, of Panama City; three sisters, Darnell Stowe and Voncile Buffaloe, both of Panama City, and Permelia Waltrop of Bonifay; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Hardy will be conducted Saturday, May 18, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Highland View Church of God with Rev. Tim Bailey and Rev. Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Bonifay. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Highland View Church of God.

HOPE HANNA ROWE WILKINSON
Hope Hanna Rowe (Chaney) Wilkinson of 2832 Allison Ave., Panama City Beach, who was born Aug. 25, 1914, at her grandparents home, "The Hanna Homestead," in Georgetown, Maine, passed peacefully at home with her daughters by her side, May 7, 2002. She graduated from Morse High School in 1932 in Bath, Maine. She worked as a dental hygienist, Maine National Bank, J.J. Newberry's and Osco Drug store as an accountant. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Piscataqua Chapter No. 90, lifetime member of Sarah Orne Jewett Chapter No. 176 and John F. Hill Grange, Elliot, Maine, Portsmouth Business Woman's Club, Portsmouth, N.H. Hope (Nena) is survived by daughters, Susan Chaney Hester, 2832 Allison Ave., Panama City Beach, and Linda Chaney Johnson and husband, Kenneth, 49 Caincrest Road, York, Maine 03909; sister, Olive Smith, Cape Elizabeth, Maine; grandchildren, "Nena" to them, Terri Hester Gravis and husband, Patrick, Panama City Beach, Susan Diane Davis and husband Milton, Virginia, Michael V. Greenlee, York, Maine, Sheri Greenlee Ramsdell, York, Maine, Julianna Greenlee Noyes and husband, Michael, York, Maine, Jacinda Johnson Ellis and husband, Shawn, Kittery, Maine; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Hope resided the past seven years with her daughter Susan in Panama City Beach. While there she participated in activities at the Respite Center of the Council on Aging directed by Ida Mae Fleming. She will be missed by her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Old Bath-Brunswick Road, Bath, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to the Respite Program for Alzheimer's, Bay County Council on Aging, 1116 Frankford Ave., Panama City, FL 32401, Attention: Ida May Fleming; and Hospice of the Emerald Coast, P.O. Funeral services for Bobby R. Barrow, 72, of Fountain, Fla., who died Monday, May 13, 2002, in his home, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Paul Digsby, Leo St. Amante, Travis Flanders, Richard Sisk, Don MacLaren, and Jesse Riley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

Christopher Jason Chandler, age 25, of Panama City died May 12, 2002, in Churchill, Tenn. He is survived by his mother and father, Hays and Barbara Hill of Panama City. Funeral services are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date. The family will be staying at the home of Hays and Barbara Hill, 4814 E. Second St. in Parker.

Mrs. Rita Pedraza, 70, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Sunday, May 12, 2002, at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1992, coming here from Fort Lauderdale. Mrs. Pedraza was a very loving and caring person who had a soft spot in her heart for everybody and was very family oriented. She is survived by a son, Emmanuel Pedraza and his wife, Patricia, of Woodbury Heights, N.J.; sisters, Celia Martinez and her husband, Manuel, of Panama City Beach and Nelia Pruna of Miami, Fla.; brothers, Julio Pruna of Panama City Beach and Manolito Pruna and his wife, Gladys, of Miami, Fla.; a granddaughter, Sonya Pedraza; and nieces and nephews, Mayra, Jorge, Arial, Edwardo, Sylvia, Nelita and Fausto. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, May 16, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, May 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.

BILL CORBIN SR.
Mr. Bill Corbin Sr., 80, of Tallahassee, Fla., and a former resident of Blountstown, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee. Mr. Corbin was born in Washington County and lived in this area for most of his life. Bill was a retired mobile home dealer and was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Ole Gospel Tabernacle Church in Tallahassee. Mr. Corbin was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Julia Corbin; and a daughter, Glenette Kelley. Survivors include his wife, Virginia O. Corbin of Tallahassee; three sons, Bill A. Corbin of Blountstown, Roger D. Corbin of West Palm Beach, John S. Corbin of Dellwood; one daughter, Lisa C. Snyder of Tallahassee; two brothers, Cuelon Corbin of Chipley, Dalton Corbin of Marianna; three sisters, Murlene Smith of Alford, Madeline Pippin of Chipley, Betty Jackson of Bonifay; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, at 3 p.m. CDT at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown with the Rev. Doug Cotton officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown. PAMELA DENISE DAVIS
Ms. Pamela Denise Davis, 30, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on May 13, 2002. Denise was a resident of Lynn Haven, Fla., and had lived in the Panama City area for most of her life. She was a graduate of Rutherford High School, Class of 1989. In 1990, she joined the United States Navy. She retired from the Navy in 1995 in San Diego, Calif., and returned to Panama City. She was a loving mother, daughter, and sister. She loved her children and her family and will be sorely missed. Her sudden and unexpected passing reminds us all of the brevity of life and the finality of death, and to hold those who are close to us even closer. Denise is survived by her father, Michael Davis, and her mother, Eileen Davis; her daughter, Brittany Dofermire and her father, Amos Paul Dofermire Jr., and son, John Michael Sanchez, and his father, Gabriel Lorenzo Sanchez; her soul mate, Lewis Mitchell, and his children, Tyler Mitchell and Callie Mitchell; her brother, Danny Davis and his wife, Cyndii, and their children, Cody, Austin, and Macy; her grandfather, William Davis, and grandmother, Audrey Davis, all of Panama City. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hayward Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mark Ruckman, Andy Adams, Cary Stoner, Mike Bennett, Johnny Whittaker, and Doug Skaggs. Honorary pallbearers will include all members of the American Legion Post No. 356, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1389, and the Women of the Moose Auxiliary No. 1756. ALONZO CLENTON SHIRAH
Mr. Alonzo Clenton Shirah, 65, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a resident of the area a majority of his life, moving here from Waterford, Ala., and was Protestant by faith. Mr. Shirah was an avid freshwater fisherman who enjoyed being outdoors. He was a union carpenter by trade and also owned Gerald's Grocery for 30 years, having recently retired. He enjoyed woodworking and loved bluegrass music. Mr. Shirah was known for his sense of humor and love of life. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving companion, Katherine Pledger of Panama City Beach; four sons, Clenton Shirah of Fountain, Joe Oliver Shirah and his wife, Trina, Jimmy Wayne Shirah, Billy Ray Shirah and his wife, Paula, all of Panama City; a daughter, Janice Hamm of Panama City; five sisters, Mary Ellen Hudnall of Bloomington, Ind., Marie McDade and her husband, Ernest, of Marietta, Ga., Christine Guthrie of Smyrna, Ga., Dorothy Sandidge and her husband, Ray, and Mildred Hill and her husband, Raymond, all of Panama City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Railey officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. JAMES F. 'JIM' SEABORN
Mr. James F. "Jim" Seaborn, 75, of Callaway, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at his home. He was a native of Bay County and retired as a technical sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. After his military career, he worked until his retirement after 20 years as a papermaker with Stone Container. Jim was Protestant by faith and loved deep-sea fishing with his son and grandson. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Juanita Seaborn of Callaway; one son, James "Jimmy" Wood (Faith) of Panama City; one grandson, Freddy Seaborn (Crystal) of Panama City; one great-granddaughter, Haley Seaborn of Panama City; a brother, Robert Seaborn (Marlene) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dan Schroder officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, May 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Covenant Hospice, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, FL 32405.

JAMES A. STOKES
Mr. James A. Stokes, 79, of Wewahitchka, Fla., passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at a local nursing care facility. Born in Mississippi, he resided in Wewahitchka for many years. Mr. Stokes worked as a boilermaker for many paper companies, and also worked in many different areas of the construction industry. James was Christian by faith and attended the Assembly of God Church. He is predeceased by his mother, father and one daughter. Mr. Stokes is survived by two sons, three daughters, three sisters and many loving family and friends. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m. EDT in Holly Hills Cemetery with Mr. Kendrick Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

ROBERT ANTONIO BRANTLEY
Robert Antonio Brantley, 12, of 1802 Flower Ave., Apt. F 103, died Monday, May 13, 2002, in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Pensacola. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City, and a fifth-grade student at Oakland Terrace Elementary School. He is survived by his mother, Tina Lorraine Stephens; father, Ernest Brantley; sister, Christine Stephens; aunts, Bernice Brooks, Pamela Brooks, Denise Brooks, Zell Sherman and Tangie; uncles, Demetrice Brooks and Arthur Brooks Jr.; grandfather, Arthur L. Brooks; special cousins, Keshia Brooks, Trent, Trina, Shanequia Trammel, Dennissa Hollyman Gent, Rashae Trammel, Capri Brooks, Valerie Brooks, Marquise Brooks, Latasha Brown, Darion Sabb, Isaiah Waller, and Calisha Sharp; special friends, Oppie Parrish, Prentis, Meazi, Lyes, and Kevin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Minnie Brooks. Funeral services for Master Brantley will be held Saturday, May 18, 2002, in the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 802 E. Eighth Court, at 2 p.m. with Elder Darryl A. McGhee officiating. Interment to follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The remains will repose at Saints Temple Church, 1423 Fountain Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. today. The remains will lie in state on Saturday at Holy Temple from 11 a.m. until service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at 1802 Flower Ave., Apt. F 103.
