Jim Frazier
OCALA -- Jim Frazier of Ocala died Friday at his home after a short illness. He was 56.
Mr. Frazier was an education administrator for Marion County public schools.
Born in Aurora, Ill., he moved from Gainesville to Ocala 10 years ago. He received a bachelor's degree from Florida Southern College, and a master of arts in teaching and an education specialist degree from the University of Florida.
Mr. Frazier was a member of Camp Kiwanis Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Ocala, Project Graduation, Leadership of Ocala and United Way.
He was a Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Frazier of Ocala; two sons; a daughter; and two grandchildren.

John Stephen Hetherington
John Stephen Hetherington of Gainesville died Thursday at his home after a long illness. He was 61.
Mr. Hetherington was a truck driver.
Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., he moved from High Springs to Gainesville two years ago.
He enjoyed nature.
Mr. Hetherington was a Protestant.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephani Davison of Granite City, Ill.; a son, John Hetherington of Gainesville; a brother, Jim Hetherington of High Springs; and two grandchildren.
Julian Huggins
LAKE CITY -- Julian Huggins of Lake City died Thursday at his son's home in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 69.
Mr. Huggins was a retired superintendent for Hercules Inc. in Lake City. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
Born in Dyal, he moved from Okeechobee to Lake City 25 years ago. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens.
He was a member of Promise Keepers and of the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Lake City, where he taught Sunday school and Bible study classes.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Betty Huggins of Lake City; a son, Al Huggins of Gainesville; three daughters, Vivian Pearce of Okeechobee, Nan Mack of Williston and Marcia Bush of New Port Richey; a brother, Vernon Huggins of Jacksonville; two sisters, Dorothy Pearce and Winell Crews, both of Folkston, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
Esther M. Ide
Esther M. Ide of Gainesville died Wednesday at Hospice House in Gainesville. She was 87.
Mrs. Ide retired from the University of Florida Student Infirmary as a registered nurse.
Born in Grand Rapids, Mich., she moved from Grand Rapids to Gainesville several years ago.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Ide was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Hanson; and a son, Michael Ide.
Survivors include a son, Jay S. Ide Jr. of Barrington, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Clarence Eldred Jones
OLD TOWN -- Clarence Eldred Jones of Old Town died Thursday at his home. He was 76.
Mr. Jones was retired from Lockheed Space and Missiles.
Born in Fort Pierce, he moved from California to Old Town 14 years ago.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Jones was a Catholic.
Survivors include a son, David Jones of Starke; two daughters, Susan Jones of Old Town and Jacqueline Downey of Fort Myers; a sister, Marjorie Jones Tardiff of Fort Myers; and one grandchild.
William E. McIntosh
ARCHER - William E. McIntosh of Archer died Friday at Oakview Rehabilitation Center in Williston. He was 68.
Mr. McIntosh was a merchant for a farm supply store. Born in Fort Pierce, he moved from Rockledge to Archer 27 years ago.
He was a Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Alvira B. McIntosh of Archer; a son, Kenneth A. McIntosh of Newberry; a daughter, Karen Donehoo of Douglasville, Ga.; three sisters, Beatrice M. Hartzog of Archer, Clarissa "Peggy" Osborn of Port Salerno and Joyce Wilson of Fort Pierce; and five grandchildren.
Merton R. Niewisch Sr.
LAKE CITY -- Merton R. Niewisch Sr. of Lake City died Thursday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City after a brief illness. He was 79.
Mr. Niewisch owned and operated a jukebox and video game business. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Born in Barkley, Ill., he moved from Alachua to Lake City 55 years ago.
He was a member of Lake City Moose Lodge No. 624 and the American Legion Post 57.
He attended Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a son, Merton Niewisch Jr. of Lake City; a brother, Louis H. Niewisch of Langdale, Ala.; a sister, Lolita Shockley of Macon, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Marilyn Elizabeth Powell
Marilyn Elizabeth Powell of Gainesville died Wednesday at her home after a long illness. She was 49.
Mrs. Powell was a forest management office manager. She also taught medical management at Santa Fe Community College.
Born in Philadelphia, she moved from Long Island, N.Y., to Gainesville 14 years ago.
She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church and was an officer and board member of Belamy Forge Association.
Mrs. Powell enjoyed needlework.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Powell of Gainesville; a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Powell of Gainesville; her mother, Elizabeth Conway of Pitman, N.J.; and a sister, Joanne Klatt of Pitman.

Harry Prystowsky
MIAMI BEACH -- Dr. Harry Prystowsky of Surfside died Thursday at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He was 74.
Dr. Prystowsky was a former chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology of the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. He was a former professor at Johns Hopkins University and was dean of the College of Medicine at Pennsylvania State University. He also was a consultant for numerous government organizations, including the Office of Program Planning and Evaluation at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
He received the UF Honorary Alumnus Award and was honored by UF with an endowed chair in reproductive medicine and received an honorary doctor of science degree from UF.
He was born in Charleston, S.C., and moved from Gainesville to Surfside 15 years ago. He graduated from The Citadel and received his medical degree from the Medical College of the State of South Carolina.
Dr. Prystowsky was on the board of directors of the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and was chairman of the National Committee on Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Medical Schools. He was also a president of the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
He was a member of Temple Menorah in Miami Beach and of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
Survivors include his wife, Rhalda Prystowsky of Surfside; two sons, Dr. Michael Prystowsky of Charleston and Dr. Jay Prystowsky of Chicago; a daughter, Ray Ellen Yarkin of Bay Harbor Islands; two sisters; and seven grandchildren.

Bleeker B. Wilkerson
Bleeker B. Wilkerson of Gainesville died Thursday at Palm Garden Nursing Home in Gainesville. She was 88.
Mrs. Wilkerson was a former owner and director of a girls camp in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, a teacher and an actress. She also served in the Red Cross during World War II.
Born in Ebenezer, S.C., she moved from Ormond Beach to Gainesville two years ago. She received a degree in arts and a graduate degree in speech from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville and was a deacon at the Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Wilkerson was preceded in death by her husband, E.H. Wilkerson.
Survivors include three sisters, Margaret B. Cochran, Beverly B. Hatcher and Jacquelyn B. Marcus, all of Gainesville; and a brother, John J. Bailes of Great Falls, Va.
Gladys Geneva Eoff
Gladys Geneva Eoff of Gainesville died Wednesday at her home after a short illness. She was 92.
Mrs. Eoff was a homemaker.
She attended First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.
Mrs. Eoff was preceded in death by her husband, R.K. Eoff.
Survivors include a son, Kay Eoff of Gainesville; a sister, Louise Gentry of La Feria, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
