Fred W. Carter, 86, of Fort Pierce, Florida died December 12, 2002. Mr. Carter was born in Naylor, Georgia and came to Fort Pierce from Hialeah, Florida.
He was a Ground Crew Supervisor for Eastern Airlines in Miami for 35 years. He was an Army veteran, serving in WWII, 124th Infantry. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church, where he served as an Usher.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Helen V. Carter, Fort Pierce, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi and David Stone, Medina, Ohio; daughter, Cathy Constantine, Miami, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Cheryl Ingersoll, Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Ethel Connell, Maryland; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Smith Carter and sister, Louise Lounsbrough.
Friends may call Sunday, December 15, 2002, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Haisley-Hobbs Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, December 16, 2002, 11:00 A.M. at Westside Baptist Church with Dr. Dale K. Ingersoll officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

David N. Collins

David N. Collins, of Powder Hill Farm in Hazardville, and Ft. Pierce, FL, died on Thursday, (November 28, 2002) at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce, FL. He was born in Hazardville on January 17, 1923, the son of the late Marshall and Jennie Haigh Collins.
He graduated from Enfield High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served in North Africa and Italy. Following the War, Dave attended the University of Connecticut at Storrs and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree. He again served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and served in the Philippines.
He was married for 46 years to the former Jeanne Marie Collins on June 26, 1948. Mrs. Collins died on July 6, 1994. He founded the David N. Collins Agency and worked as a real estate appraiser for nearly 40 years before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Rotary, active in numerous community activities and was an avid photographer. He is survived by a son, Marshall R. Collins and his wife Maureen of Salem; and a daughter, Robin A. Gold and her husband John of Greenwich; three grandchildren, Meghan L. Collins of Salem, M. Randall Collins, Jr., of West Hartford, and Alexander Whiting Gold of Greenwich; a great-grandson, Hunter Collins Whitcomb of Salem; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Whitehead of Washington Depot; and two brothers, Walter Collins of Simsbury and Warren Collins of Shapleigh, ME. He is predeceased by two sisters, Marie Graham, Muriel Collins; and a brother, Edwin Collins.
A Memorial Service will he held on Saturday, December 7, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Hazardville United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being made by Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Contributions may be made in his memory to Hospice of Southeast Connecticut, 179 Galivan Lane, P.O. Box 902, Uncasville, CT 06382-0902; or to American Legion Post 40, 810 South US 1, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She loved her family and gardening.
Survivors include her sons, Francis Conrad, Cheraw, South Carolina, Lawrence Conrad, Chesterfield, South Carolina; daughter, Mary C. Hartsfield, Fort Pierce, Florida; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Gale Smith, and her husband Raymond Conrad.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hibiscus Children’s Center, 2440 NE Dixie Highway, Jensen Beach, Florida 34957.

Mr. Collins died Monday, February 10, 2003 at Indian River Memorial Hospital, Vero Beach, Florida. He was born on September 17, 1921 in Bangor, New York, the son of Ivan and Beulah Collins.
At the age of 18 he entered the U.S. Air Force. He flew 139 missions during World War II in the Pacific Theater as a fighter pilot in the Black Rams 460th Fighter Squadron.
He was employed for many years as an operating engineer and later owned his own crane service. He was a Communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Castleton, New York.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernice; his children, Jennifer Misajet, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jeffrey Collins, Lithonia, Georgia; his grandchildren, Kenneth Misajet, Jr., Heather Misajet, Craig Misajet and Wynter Smith; sisters, Corrine Fiacco, Potsdam, New York, Madeline Deno, Malone, New York, Esther Haslett, Napa, California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Forkey, Malone, New York.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, Florida on Thursday, February 13, 2003, 10:00 A.M.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later time at Sacred Heart Church in Castleton.
