JOSE CRUZ, 70, of Dover died Wednesday. A native of McAllen, Texas , he moved to the area in 1962. He was an agricultural laborer and a member of St. Clement's Catholic Church in Plant City. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; seven sons, Abel, Gerardo and Hector, all of Dover, Jose Luis and Oscar, both of Plant City, Umberto of Michigan and Geronimo of Ruskin; five daughters, Juanita Cardona and Thelmaz, both of Dover, Norma Torres of Plant City, Francisca Lerma of Indiana and Dora Ayala of Wauchula; a brother, Clemente of Texas ; two sisters, Marguarita Mora of Texas and Maria of Mexico; 39 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. ARTHUR VAN NESS TAFT, 95, of Tampa died Friday at Tampa General Hospital. A native of Ticonderoga, N.Y., he moved to the Tampa area in 1941 from Duluth, Minn. He was a hotel executive, served on the Tampa Convention and Tourist Bureau, and was treasurer and a board member of YMCA, past treasurer of Day Spring Episcopal Center, past president of the Tampa Hotel Association, and treasurer and former vestryman of St. John's Episcopal Church.
