Mr. Jackie "Jack" K. Herron

Jackie 'Jack' K. Herron, 74, Bradenton, passed away Feb. 11, 2013. He was born icon Jan. 10, 1939 in Columbus, IN to the late Marion Wm. and Myrtle (Brooks) Herron. He served with the U.S. Air Force and moved to Bradenton over 39 years ago coming from Columbus. He was a retired flooring salesman working for various companies, and attended Ss. Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church. Jackie was predeceased by a son Tim, granddaughter, Kailey Anne and a sister Jenny. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Shirley, son; Michael Wm. (Heidi) Herron of Summerville, SC, daughter, Kimberly, brother, M. William 'Bill' (Suzie) Herron of Columbus, IN, and two grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 PM on Thurs. Feb. 14, 2014 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. Memorials may be made to TideWell Hospice in his memory.

Mr. Foster Lee Raypole, II

Foster Lee Raypole, II, 56, Bradenton, passed away May 31, 2013. Foster was born icon April 9, 1957 in Columbus, OH to the late Foster Lee and Madilyn (Arrasmith) Raypole. He served with the U.S. Army, and has been a resident of Bradenton for over 20 years coming from Ohio. Foster was working for Bealls Department Store as a fork lift operator at the time of his passing. He is survived by his son, Foster Raypole III, daughter Tanya (Michael) Whiting, four brothers; Harold, Dwayne, Jonathan, Burl, four sisters; Charlene, Libby, June and Robin, and two grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at 4:30 P.M. on Friday, July 5, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton, Fl. 34205.

Ms. Virgina V. Densford

Virginia V. Densford, 98, Bradenton, passed away June 17, 2013. She was born icon on November 18, 1914 in Buffalo, New York to the late Cornelius C. and Elsie (Winnert) Densford. She was a retired physical therapist, and has been a resident of Bradenton since 1987 coming from Kenmore, New York. Virginia had no known survivors. A private inurnment will be take place at a later date in the family plot at Elmlawn Cemetery in Kenmore, New York. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.

The Rev. Michael Gene DiPalma

Michael Gene DiPalma, 84, of Bradenton, went to be with Jesus on June 22, 2013. The Rev. DiPalma was born icon on October 19, 1928 in New Haven, CT, to the late Carmine and Teresa (Millo) DiPalma. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. After his military service he followed the path that the Lord had planned for him, and was graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA, and ordained in 1966. Rev. DiPalma served his Lord faithfully as a minister in McRae, GA, Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Hialeah, FL and was an Associate Minister at Church of the Cross in Bradenton, where he has been a resident since 1982. He also served as a chaplain for Pirates Baseball Chapel and a substitute teacher in the Manatee County Public school system. He was currently attending Refuge Calvary Chapel in Bradenton, which meets at Ballard Elementary School. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Martha (Yarborough) DiPalma; daughter, Lisa (Doug) Waldo of Bradenton; son, Jamie (Theresia) DiPalma of Carrollton, TX; and daughter, Suzanna (Jamey) Underwood of Murfreesboro, TN, and his sisters Eva Daley of Cape Coral, FL, and Arlene Zurolo of Hamden, CT, along with many extended family members, and brothers and sisters in Christ. He was the beloved ‘’Papa’’ to eight precious grandchildren: Haley, Ashley, and Joshua Waldo; Mikey, Joey, and Melina DiPalma; and JT and Seanna Underwood. The family will receive friends from 4-5 P.M. on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 with a Praise and Celebration service to follow at Refuge Calvary Chapel in the Auditorium of the Ballard Elementary School, 912 18th Street West, Bradenton, FL, with final military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Private committal services will take place at the Sarasota National Cemetery. It was Rev. DiPalma’s request that memorials be made to the D.A.V. in honor of the service and they have provided to this country. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, Bradenton.

Mr. Steven John Bellagamba

Steven John Bellagamba, 62, Bradenton, passed away June 21, 2013. He was born icon Sept. 2, 1950 in Danbury, CT to the late Silvio and Barbara (Sterling) Bellagamba. Steven served with the U.S. Air Force, and has been a resident of Bradenton for the last 12 years. Steven worked as a tile contractor. He is survived by his wife of almost 14 years, Denise of Bradenton, two sons; Brian (Carey) Bellagamba of Watertown, CT, Antone (Tish) Drillon of Key Largo, FL, three daughters; Melissa Bellagamba of Guilford, CT, Cara (Mike) Newton of Bristol, CT, Amanda (Jeremy) DeVault of Peoria, IL; three brothers; Ricky Bellagamba of Viejas, Puerto Rico, Gary (Janet) Bellagamba of Ridgefield, CT, David (Cheryl) Bellagamba of Newport, NC, four grandchildren; Julianna Bellagamba, Emma Newton, Haniel Perto, and Lilly DeVault who is on the way, and many extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 4-5 P.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 with services to follow at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Avenue W., Bradenton. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorial be made to Habitat for Humanity in his memory.

Mrs. Judith Ann Doss Roberts

Judith Ann Doss Roberts, 56, Apollo Beach, passed away June 20, 2013. She was born icon on Sept. 9, 1956 in Bradenton to the late George Alfred and Alice Jeanette (Greene) Doss. She worked locally as a C.N.A. before moving to Apollo Beach in 2005. She was predeceased by her two brothers; Steve and William Doss, and sister, Jan Thomas, and is survived by her husband, Donald, two daughters; Shannon Sullivan and Katrina Nicholas all of Apollo Beach, son, Donnie Roberts of Hamlet, IN, brother, Mack Doss of Bradenton, eight grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 with services to follow at 11:00 A.M. at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton with interment to follow at Palma Sola Cemetery in Bradenton.

Mr. Scott Alan McQuillen

Scott Alan McQuillen, 45, Manatee County, passed away June 12, 2013 at his residence. Scott was born icon on October 16, 1967 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to David B. and Margaret (Grassmyer) McQuillen. He has been a resident of Manatee County for over 25 years. Scott worked as a singer for the former Home-Style Harmony Restaurant in Bradenton and for the last ten years has been working as a server for Cracker Barrel Restaurants in Bradenton. He loved music and to sing. He was predeceased by his father, and is survived by his mother and step-father; LaRue and James Arendell of Bradenton, brother, David McPherson of Bradenton, two sisters; Sharon Nagle of Strongstown, PA, Ruth Ann McGraw of Mesa, AZ, his best friends; Dan and Daniel and many extended family members and friends he made over the years. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Monica Rae Firehammer

Monica Rae Firehammer, 41, Bradenton, passed away June 11, 2013. Monica was born icon June 2, 1972 in Fairfax, VA to Milton Raymond and Deanna (DuVal) Warehime. She has been a resident of Bradenton for the last 11 years coming from Fredericksburg, VA. She is survived by her loving husband Scott, three dear children; SummerGrace, Sage and Star all of Bradenton, mother and step-father; Deanna Warehime and Sale Stopher of Fredericksburg, VA, two brothers; William Frenzel of Front Royal, VA, Robert Frenzel of Fredericksburg, VA, sister, Teresa Rogers of Bradenton, and many extended family members and friends. Services will be held at a later date and time. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.

Mrs. Laverne A. Ruthsatz

LaVerne A. Ruthsatz, 93, Bradenton, passed away June 9, 2013. She was born icon on Feb. 17, 1920 in Castalia, OH to the late Fred John and Mary (Lang) Smith. She was a retired department store salesperson and has been a resident of Bradenton since 1955 coming from Sandusky, OH. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and also attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bradenton. LaVerne was predeceased by her husband Robert, a sister and two grandsons and is survived by her two children; LaMarr R. Ruthsatz and Cheryl Walker both of Bradenton, two grandchildren; Kyra and Brian, and five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th St. W., Bradenton. Memorials may be made to Tidewell Hospice in her memory.

Mr. Steven Daniel Kaluza

Steven Daniel Kaluza, 58 of Anna Maria Island, died June 10, 2013. He was born icon in 1955 in Superior, WI. He was a local building contractor with Paradise Improvements since 2000. He was an eclectic artist and candle sculptor. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. He was predeceased by his mother Roe Ann Kaluza, and his beloved cat Angel. Steven is survived by his loving wife Frannie “Fancy Pants” of Anna Maria Island, two step-children; Luke Andrews of Bradenton, Lane Andrews of St. Monica, CA, father, Dan of Superior, WI, sister, Sondra (Dan) Hirssig of Bradenton, brother, Mike (Julie) of Superior, WI, nieces; Amber, Alicia, Jennifer and Ashley, nephew, Richard, great-niece, Larissa, and many extended family members and friends. A celebration of Steven’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Westview Chapel, 5610 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to Habitat for Humanity in his memory.

Mrs. Donna Kay Davenport

Donna Kay Davenport, a true “firecracker”, born icon on 7/4/1936 in Welch, West Virginia and passed away on June 10, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Around 1940 the family moved to Belleville, IL. Where Donna grew up and lived until 1981. She was a graduate of Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis and the College of St. Frances in Joliet, IL. Donna worked at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville for 15 years. She moved to Florida in 1981 and has called Bradenton her home since 1985. Donna loved being a nurse and helping others. She actively practiced nursing for over 50 years, working at the Manatee County Health Department for over 20 years before retiring. She served as a volunteer Parish nurse for her church, Westminster Presbyterian Church in Bradenton for 10 years, volunteered with the Red Cross during several hurricane seasons, was a volunteer at the Free Clinic at the One Stop Center, volunteered at the Cancer Society in Blake Hospital, served as Volunteer Coordinator for Manatee County Habitat for Humanity for 12 years and served at “Our Daily Bread” with her church.

Tennis was Donna’s favorite sport and she played for many years in leagues at G.T. Bray Park in Bradenton.

Donna was predeceased by her father, Ray Davenport, and brother Bill Davenport. Surviving are her beloved sons, Daniel (Rita) Smith, Jr. of Belleville, IL, and Darrell (Barbara) Smith of Gurnee, IL, six grandchildren living in Illinois, one great-granddaughter, two sisters, Jan Tomlinson of Bradenton (adopted) and Carole (Jim) Everly of Corpus Christi, TX and brother, Michael (Connie) Davenport of Afton, TN. Also surviving is Donna’s mother, Lela residing at Heritage Park in Bradenton, many nieces and nephews including Deidre Bedford of Palmetto and many special friends including Jan Tomlinson of Bradenton.

There will be a celebration of life at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church preceded by refreshments after the regular church service in the church social hall. The cremains are to be spread in the church memorial garden following the service.

Mr. Stefan Brown

Stefan Brown, 66, Bradenton, passed away June 9, 2013. He was born icon on July 12, 1946 in Hamilton, OH to the late Kenneth F. and Ruth L. (Gausman) Brown, and moved to Bradenton in 1951. He was currently working as the Head Program Analyst for New College where he has been for 20 years. He was also a member of Nature Conservancy, German Philatelic Society in Lakeland, Native Plant Society, Audubon Society, and attended First Presbyterian Church as a child. He is survived by his loving partner Donald R. Tennihill of Bradenton, three sisters; Lisa B. (David) Potter of Palmetto, Patricia Zalo of Bradenton, Pamela Inman of Sarasota, a nephew, Alex Zalo of Jacksonville, FL, as well as many friends and acquaintances. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, 1015 14th Street West, Bradenton.

The family requests no flowers; instead donations be made to either the Humane Society of Bradenton or Nature Conservancy in his memory.

Ms. Julietta Wilson

Julietta Wilson, 53, Bradenton, passed away May 15, 2013. Julietta was born icon on August 8, 1959 in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa to Jakob Johannes and Maria Elizabeth (Wassenaar) Smith. She worked as an I.T. Specialist locally here in Manatee County. Julietta is survived by her mother, Maria Elizabeth Smith, brother, Williem A. Smith and his wife Louise all of Pretoria, Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa, and a host of many friends and acquaintances here in the States and worldwide. A celebration of her life will be held at 4 P.M. on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Courtyard Marriott in Bradenton. Further services and inurnment will take place in the family cemetery in Pretoria, South Africa. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.

Mrs. Joyce Moyer Barber

Joyce Moyer Barber, 70, Bradenton, passed away June 8, 2013. Joyce was born icon on September 20, 1942 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to the late Bruce and Dorothy Moyer. She has lived in Manatee County since the late 1980’s coming from Salisbury, Maryland. She worked as a server for several different local establishments. Joyce was predeceased by a son Scott in December of 2007 along by all of her siblings. She is survived by her two daughters; Cynthia and Sharon Barber both of Bradenton, four grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. The family will be holding a private service for her at a later date and time. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.

Mr. Robert Dale Frazier

Robert Dale Frazier, 71, Bradenton, passed away May 15, 2013.Robert was born icon on February 9, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Amos David and Zelda (Esh) Frazier. He served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, and worked in the construction industry. Robert has been a resident of Florida off and on for many years, but for the last five years has been a permanent resident coming from Michigan. Robert was predeceased by two sons; Daniel Robert and Shawn Michael Lavely, and three brothers; Howard, Norm and Kenny Frazier, He is survived by his loving wife Robyn Frazier, four daughters; Cynthia Benkhardt of Palmetto, Deborah Payne of White, GA, Amanda Joy Frazier of Bradenton, Wendy Robinson of Grand Rapids, MI, brother, Larry Frazier of Pace, FL, sister, Loretta Engelsman of Allendale, MI, eight grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at The Source, 5412 E. State Rd 64 E., Bradenton with final military honors to be rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Private family committal services will take place at a later date at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.

Mrs. Martha Thomas

Martha Thomas, 77, Bradenton, passed away May 17, 2013. Martha was born icon on August 18, 1935 in Bradenton, to the late Oran and Alice (Brady) Cooper. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oneco, and retired from the Manatee County Clerk of Courts where she worked for over 30 years. Martha is survived by a daughter; Karen, son, Daniel, two sisters; Wanda Wolfe, Sylvia Gore, and one grandson, Dustin all of Bradenton. Private family committal services will be held at the Braden River Cemetery.

Lalia Lynn Sanchez, infant daughter of Fernando Sanchez and Jamie Ainsley of Bradenton, passed away May 19, 2013. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Mary Sheppard Moran

Mrs. Harry E. Moran, 100, of Bradenton, FL died on May 20, 2013 at Surrey Place Healthcare. Mrs. Moran has been a resident of Bradenton since 1922 when she came here with her parents from Gainesville, FL. She attended Florida State University, Duke University and University of West Virginia, and was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She was also a life member of the Entre Nous Club of Bradenton, and Christ Episcopal Church in Bradenton. Mrs. Moran is survived by her son; H. Edward Moran, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, daughter, Susan Moran Robertson of Parrish, FL., three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Private graveside services and interment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville, FL It is requested that no flowers be sent instead that memorial contributions be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Bradenton in Mrs. Mary Moran’s memory. Arrangements by Shannon Funeral Home Town Chapel, Bradenton.
