John Logan, 82, of Arcadia, Fla., died Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Fla.

Arrangements are by ICS Cremation Society Inc. of Harbour Heights, Fla.

Janice G. Hoenicke

Janice G. "Jonnie" Hoenicke, 73, of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Tuesday Aug. 30, 2005, at her summer home in Grantham, N.H.

She was born icon Jan. 2, 1932, in New York City, N.Y., to Eugene and Martha (Whitwell) Gravel.

She attended the Lincoln School of Performing Arts in Manhattan, N.Y., and graduated from Ridgewood High School in New Jersey. She received her A.B. degree in English and Speech and Drama from Cornell University, N.Y., in 1953, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi, Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. She returned to school and received her master's degree in English education from the University of Illinois in 1982. She taught English, speech and creative writing at Antioch Community High School, Evanston Township High School and Woodlands Academy, a Sacred Heart school, in Lake Forest, Illinois. Mrs. Hoenicke raised her two children in Bronxville, N.Y., and Lake Forest, Ill., where she was active in church and community affairs as a volunteer teacher, a Girl Scout leader, and choir member. She loved the theater, playing bridge, tennis, crossword puzzles and mystery stories.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward Hoenicke; two daughters, Jeanne Hoenicke Bailey of Alexandria, Va., and Anne Hoenicke Woolford of Winchester, Mass.; and four granddaughters, Molly and Abigail Bailey and Michele and Katherine Woolford. She was a resident of Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda where she was a member of the Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church in New London, N.H.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at the Kearsarge Community Presbyterian Church, 82 King Hill Road, Rte 11, in New London.

Arrangements are by Chadwick Funeral Service, New London.

Dorothy L. Lyle

Mom was loved by us all and we will miss her dearly.

Dorothy Lee "Dot" Lyle, 85, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005.

She was born icon May 12, 1920, in San Saba, Texas.

She moved from Oklahoma City, Okla., to Port Charlotte in 1972, and she was a manager at the Mobil Oil Station on U.S. 41 in Port Charlotte (now known as Scoops Mobil) for many years. She then worked for Texaco Gas station in Murdock, Fla.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce "Cricket" Potnick; two grandsons, Jack Oden of Pine, Colo., and Michael Lyle of Indiana; seven grandsons, including Terry Price of Port Charlotte and Chris Price of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and five great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by one son, Robin Lyle of Montrose, Colo.

The memorial service will be private. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Levelland, Texas.

Raleigh Bruce

Raleigh Bruce, 81, of North Port, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, at Hospice House of Southwest Florida in Venice, Fla.

He was born icon June 24, 1924, in Barbourville, Ky.

Raleigh served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a World War II veteran. He was recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired as supervisor from Champion International Corporation of Ohio. He moved to the North Port area over 18 years ago from Hamilton, Ohio, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 110 of Port Charlotte, Fla., and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Raleigh is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gilda Faye Bruce; three sons, Raleigh Bruce Jr. of Hamilton, Ohio, Timothy R. Bruce of Chandler, Ariz., and Robbie D. Bruce of North Port; three daughters, Jenae Bruce Warren of Los Angeles, Calif., Tonda Bruce Laubenstein of Ashville, N.C., and Arlita Bruce Naehring of Tequesta, Fla.; three brothers, Dave Bruce of Hamilton, Ohio, Stephen and Dane Bruce, both of Georgia; one sister, Mary Englemann of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and interment with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps. will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at the chapel of Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, with the Rev. J. Ralph Burton Jr. officiating.

The family requests contributions be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, Florida 34238.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.

David E. Stout

David E. Stout, 77, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Fla. Arrangements are by ICS Cremation Society Inc. of Harbour Heights, Fla.

Jerry J. Waldron

Jerry J. Waldron, 57, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center.

He was born icon on Oct. 8, 1947, in Fort Myers, Fla., to Oliver and Elsie Waldron.

Jerry was a lifetime resident of Punta Gorda and served his

country in the U.S. Army. He spent the early part of his life as a

commercial fisherman and later became a concrete truck driver. Jerry was a family man and he loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beth "Denise" Waldron; his three daughters, Sebrina Norton, Kimberly (Dennis Neff) Waldron, and Amy (Trapper Holley) Waldron all of Punta Gorda; his father, Oliver Waldron of Punta Gorda; his grandchildren, Brittnay and Branden Norton, Bradley and

Briana Neff, and Alyssa and Travis Holley all of Punta Gorda; and three uncles, Newton (June) Waldron of Fort Myers, Earnest (Judy) Waldron of Fort Myers, and Artie Waldron of Sarasota, Fla.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home in Punta Gorda with Rev. Owens of Souls Harbor Church of God officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Indian Springs Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer

Barbara J. Delly

Barbara Jean Delly, 73, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Englewood Community Hospital in Englewood, Fla.

She was born icon on Dec. 19, 1931, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Lloyd and Beulah (Burtt) Stevens.

Barbara had been a resident of Charlotte County for two years coming from Eldon, Mo. A loving wife and homemaker, she was an avid golfer and loved to fish.

She is survived by her husband of five years, Joseph F. Delly of Port Charlotte; two stepdaughters, Christine Delly of Eldon, Carolyn Snow of Columbia, Mo.; two stepsons, Brian Delly of Jefferson City, Mo., and Justin Delly of Holts Summit, Mo.; and one granddaughter.

Funeral service and Burial will be in Missouri.

Englewood Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been selected to handle arrangements.

Theresa D. DeFusco

Theresa D. DeFusco, 78, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at her residence.

She was born icon Dec. 6, 1926, in Providence, R.I.

Mrs. DeFusco retired as a telephone operator. She moved to Port Charlotte 20 years ago from Rhode Island, and worked in the communication department at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte for 15 years. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Casey and Betty (Mario) Maietta, both of Port Charlotte; a son, Raymond J. (Joanne) DeFusco of Cranston, R.I.; a sister, Jane DiNofa of Las Vegas, Nev.; a brother, John DeFusco of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Carmine, Raymond, Cristina, Michael, Joey and John; and one great-granddaughter, Gianna. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles DeFusco, in 2000.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, with a Catholic wake service at 7 p.m. at the Port Charlotte chapel of Roberson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.

Carmen Parisse

Carmen Parisse, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at Hope Hospice South in Fort Myers, Fla.

Carmen was born icon Aug. 12, 1925, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She is the daughter of the late Lucia (Jean) and Nicolas Jeanty.

Retired, Carmen and her husband, Luc, moved to this area from Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1989. After her husband of 40 years suffered a devastating heart attack and stroke in 1991, she devoted her daily life to his care until his recent death on March 6, 2005. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses French Congregation of Port Charlotte.

She is survived by three sons, Neddy (Rita) and Mario Parisse, and Joel-Jean (Nicole) Louis; four daughters, Yolette Jn Louis, Wilda and Venise Parisse, and Nicole (Maurisier) Menard; six grandchildren, Jessica, Michee, Franklin, Blandine, Wendy Parisse and Neddy Parisse Jr.; seven great-grandchildren, Isaiah Luc Clark, Hakeem Parisse Cantave, EliJwah, Malik, Phalisha, and Nadia and Rachel Menard; five nephews, Ronald and Spencer Jean, Pierre, Michou and Gaspard Parisse; one niece, Lucre Tonge; and one cousin, Gizette Jn Vilounge.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at the Port Charlotte Chapel of Roberson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at the Jehovah's Witneses Kingdom Hall, 17520 Lake Worth Blvd., Port Charlotte. Committal services and emtombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home.

Catherine Elizabeth Robinson

Catherine Elizabeth Robinson, 84, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at Hospice House of Venice in Venice, Fla.

She was born icon July 8, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, to Henry and Catherine Prasher Holb.

Mrs. Robinson moved to Port Charlotte from Atwater, Ohio, in 1985.

Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Hardscrabble Club of Marlboro, Ohio, and an associate member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church of Alliance, Ohio. She was a member of Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Charlotte County Ohio Club. She was a volunteer with Health Plus Thrift Shop.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Ralph H. Robinson of Port Charlotte; three daughters, Patricia Jean Maldoven of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Norita Kay Webb of Alliance, and Lynelle Sue Hardy of Cushing, Okla.; two sons, David Charles Robinson of Salt Lake City, Utah and Thomas Dean Robinson of North Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Ruth Krenrick of Akron and Mary Jane Irwin of Phoenix, Ariz.; a brother, Albert Holb of Norwalk, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. until funeral services at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2005, at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church, 21075 Quesada Avenue, Port Charlotte, with the Rev. James Kuse officiating. Entombment will be at Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 5200

Helene Dayton

Helene Dayton, 87, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at HQM of Port Charlotte.

She was born icon Feb. 21, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was a retired photographer. She moved to Port Charlotte in 1976 from Brecksville, Ohio.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Giere of Tamarac, Fla., Ronald N. Giere of Columbus, Ohio, and Roger Giere of Brecksville; and 3 grandchildren.

Memorial services and interment will be held in Brecksville.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory Port Charlotte Chapel.

Ronald C. Gardner

Ronald C. Gardner, 71, of Port Charlotte, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, while doing what he enjoyed, playing golf.

He was born icon April 18, 1934, in Waltham, Mass., to Everett and Bessie (Bacon) Gardner.

Ron served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He and his wife moved to Port Charlotte in 1994 from Hudson, N.H. Ron was a member of the American Legion Post 110 of Port Charlotte, and the Deep Creek and Kings Gate Golf Clubs. He was an avid golfer.

He will be missed by his wife, Charlene; daughter, Darcy (Steve) Cutter of Nashua, N.H.; son, Todd (Michelle) Gardner of Merrimack, N.H.; brother, Robert (Jan) Gardner of St. George Island, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Norman) Gray Gardner of Wellfleet, Mass., and Lois (Tony) Cirurso of Port Charlotte; grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob and Brandon of Merrimack, and Rayana and Lindsey of Winter Haven, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and his golfing friends. Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett and Norman.

Roy Hearl

Roy Hearl, 88, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Venice, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005.

He was born icon April 12, 1917, in Chicago, Ill.

He was a sales associate with Schramm Inc. in Chicago for 40 years before he retired. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite in Chicago. He enjoyed playing euchre and dancing.

He moved to Venice from Chicago in 1979. Earlier this year, he moved to Port Charlotte.

He is survived by his sons, Roger, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Alan, of Nole, Mo.; daughter, Susan Keller, of Katy, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at the Venice Chapel of Farley Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until services at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8.

William R. Lee

William R. "Bill" Lee, 91, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and formerly of Punta Gorda, Fla., died Sunday, July 31, 2005, in Windsor, Wis.

He was born icon Oct. 4, 1913, in Detroit, Mich.

Mr. Lee retired as owner and operator of a dry cleaning businesses in Wisconsin and moved to Punta Gorda in 1976 from Madison, Wis. He was a member of Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. Mr. Lee was a former member of the Port Charlotte Rotary Club and the Isles Yacht Club of Punta Gorda.

He is survived by a son, Robert W. Lee of Waunakee, Wis.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Lee, who died in 1998.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. The Rev. J. Ralph Burton Jr. will officiate. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association of Southwest Florida, P.O. Box 494708, Port Charlotte, FL 33949-4708.

Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel.
