A lifelong resident of Tampa, he was a supervisor for the postal service, Army veteran of World War II, member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge of Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth; two sons, Edward M. II of Bell and Bill of Tampa; a daughter, Sherie Palmer of Tampa; two brothers, William of Clearwater and Walter of Atlanta; two daughters, Lois Delp and Louise Flynn, both of Tampa; and two grandchildren.
