He is survived by his wife, Margaret; a brother Alan Richard Hylton of Tampa; nieces, Stephanie Moffitt of Riverview, Debra Littleton and her husband Rick of Knoxville, Tenn., and Patricia Hasty of Tampa; sister-in-law Beverly Hoover of Toronto; step sisters in law, Elizabeth Alsop and her husband Webb a nd Marie Glover and her husband John all of Kansas City, Kan. well as several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Mr. Hylton was a Presbyterian, a Coast Guard Veteran of World War II and was an active member of the Tampa Board of Realtors for many years. JEANS, Richard, 87, employee of Ace Hardware in Sun City Center, died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at South Bay Hospital in Sun City. He retired from General Electric in 1980 after 35 years of service at the Lynn, Massachusetts Jet Engine Division. He was born icon in Haverhill, Massachusetts on January 11, 1915. His wife, Elizabeth; one son and one daughter; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive him. He and Elizabeth celebrated 65 years of marriage on May 15, 2002. LANIER, Ashley Thomas, age 71, passed away May 24, 2002 at his home in Temple Terrace under the care of LifePath Hospice. He was born icon in Maple Hill, North Carolina and came to Florida where he was stationed in the Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Florida and was a CPA in Tampa for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife, Alice; a sister, Hazel Johnson, Wilmington, N.C.; a bro ther, Harvey, Titusville; a daughter, Terri Schisler, Pensacola; two sons, Stewart, Charlotte, N.C. and Adam, Morristown, N.J.; two stepchildren, Cathy Carlton Reilly, LaGrangeville, N.Y., and John Carlton, Clarksville, Tenn.; three granddaughters; three step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons. He was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of Egypt Temple Shrine, was Treasurer of the Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Tampa, Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 20th Masonic District, Past Master Temple Terrace Lodge #330 F&AM, a member of Tampa York Rite Bodies and Past Patron Port Tampa Chapter #178, Order of the Eastern Star. The family would like to thank the staff on 4th Floor E. and W. at University Community Hospital, Dr. Frank Tagliarini, Dr. Xavier Cannella, Dr. Ron Schiff, Dr. C harles Sanders, and the Pearl Team of Hospice for their kindness and excellent care as he fought his battle with cancer for the past 2 1/2 years. SAAVEDRA BONETA, Jesus M., 52, of Tampa passed away May 22, 2002. SAVAGE, Mildred V., age 85 of Tampa, passed away May 24, 2002. She was a lifelong resident of Tampa. Mrs. Savage was preceded in death by her husband, Hanson Savage; and son, Charles Savage and survived by; daughter, Virginia Soule and husband George Jr.; sisters, Edith Sharp and Leitha Seidl; grandchildren, Kenneth and Bruce Soule, Charlene Steigerwaldt and Vladimir Savage; and six great-grand children. SMOLAKOV, Niclaus W., passed away on May 17, 2002 in Tampa, Fla., at the age of 63. Mr. Smolakov was born icon in Latvia. He lived and attended schools in Millville, N.J., and Erie, Pa. He also studied at Penn State University and Baylor University. His military service was in the U.S. Air Force where he served as an Airman Second Class. He worked as a systems analyst for Seagrams Co. in New York. For the past 20 years, he was the manager of Camp Nebraska in Tampa, Fla. Mr. Smolakov was the son of the late Rev. Vladimir and the late Vera Smolakov. Survived by one daughter, Jenette Smolakov of Norwalk, Conn., and her mother, Jackie Smolakov; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennie and Jerry Liston of Herndon, Va., and Olga and Tony Lieggi of Ewing, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday and Thursday at the St. Nicholas Old Orthodox Church, Millville. Arrangements were made by Barbetti Funeral home, 2104 E. Main St., Millville. WHITE, Diane F., 32, of Apollo Beach passed away April 1, 2002. She was born icon in Waterbury, Conn. and came here three years ago. She was a nurse's aide and a massage therapist. DALY, Thomas A., 76, of Dade City, died Saturday morning, May 25, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Thomas J. Daly and wife Barbara of Tampa and Dennis S. Daly and wife Kim of Novato, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara C. Daly of Tampa and Carol A. Kelley and husband Robert of Dade City; and six grandchildren. A native of Queens, N.Y., he moved to Dade City in 1974 from Long Island, N.Y. He retired from the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, N.Y., and retired from the Pasco County Sheriffs Dept., where he worked as a bailiff for 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; the Fraternal Order of Police; the Police Benevolent Association; the Retired Police Association; and the International Police Association. He served in the US N avy during World War II. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Rebel as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. HAGLEY, Thomas John, 47, passed away May 23, 2002 in Tampa. Survived by his father and mother; John Robert and Jacquelyn (Gosline) Hagley of Zephyrhills; brother, Timothy Robert Hagley of Buchanan, Mich.; and sister, Teresa Ann Hagley of Indianapolis, Ind. Thomas came to the Tampa area in 1991 from Buchanan, Mich., and was a Methodist.

PETROZZI, Peter, 82, of Port Richey died Thursday, May 23, 2002. Survived by sister, Cristina N. Petrozzi, Port Richey. Dobies Funeral Home.

PRIOR, Mary Catherine age 54, died peacefully at her home on May 11, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A longtime resident of Colorado Springs, Mary was formerly of Tampa, and Graduate of Tampa Catholic High. She was one of seven children born icon to William and Mary Prior. Born in San Diego, CA, April 18, 1948. Mary was predeceased in death by her brother, Joseph Frank Prior. Survivors are her three children, Daria, Brian and Anita, her parents of Brooksville, FL, and five siblings, Cindy Redelman, Beth Prior Breeden, William Prior, Jr, Victoria Prior and Angie Prior Dement.

ATNIP, George W., 85, of Tampa, died May 22 in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Born near Glasgow, Kentucky on January 5, 1917, he grew up in southern Kentucky and attended Bowling Green Business University. He moved to Tampa in 1937 and served in the United States Army in England in World War II, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. He was employed as Purchasing Agent for General Portland Cement Compa ny in Tampa for over 37 years, and then by Knight and Wall Company until his retirement in 1982. He joined the Bayshore Baptist Church shortly after moving to Tampa, and remained a member throughout his life, holding office in the church and teaching Sunday School over a period of more than 60 years. At Bayshore Baptist he met and married Evelyn Holtzclaw, who became his wife of 51 years until her death in 1996. He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn H. Atnip. He is survived by two sons, Gilbert W. Atnip of New Albany, Indiana and Robert G. Atnip of Hershey, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Richard, Lindsay, Allison and Elizabeth Atnip; and a niece, Lanna Phillips. Arrangements are being handled by Mark III Funeral Home, Tampa. Visitation will be held at the Dale Mabry location on Mo nday, May 27, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Bayshore Baptist Church, 3111 Morrison Avenue, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28. GRUBER, Mary, 68, passed away Friday, May 17, 2002. Mary was born icon in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Oct. 16, 1933. She resided in California, Erie, Pa., and spent the last 26 years in Tampa. Mary retired from Peoples Gas System in 1995 where she worked in Human Resources as a EEOC coordinator/specialist. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, Martin V. Gruber, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Martha Jane DiMatteo of Ocala, Fla.; three daughters, Debbie Polk of Tampa, Martha Arntson of Ft. Worth, Texas, Irene Gruber of Tampa; and one son, Russell Gruber of Oakland, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Erin, Erik and Alex Arntson, Andrea Polk, Sean and Catherine Peshek and Madison Gruber. Mary was an avid reader, traveler and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital Cardiac Re-Hab Unit.

JONES, Robert Richard, Sr., of Temple Terrace, was born icon in Vinita, Okla., Sept. 6, 1930. He was in the US Air Force, serving as a pilot at McGuire Air Force Base. He was in the 539th Fighter Interception Squadron in the 1950's. He was a chartered life underwriter for Penn Mutual Insurance Company for more than 20 years. He was a trust officer for Barnett Banks in Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Edith Louise; a son, Robert Richard Jones, Jr.; stepdaughters, Mrs. Wayne (Patsy) Matthews, Mrs. Vernon (Debbie) Crosby; one stepson, Mike Mansell; 11 step grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren. He was an active member of Hyde Park United Methodist. Visitation on Tuesday, 5 - 6 (family) 6 - 8 (friends) Prevatt Funeral Home, Temple Terrace. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann; one son, Kenny; three grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, and Trevor; sisters, Lorene Bennett and Jean Roberts, both of Tampa, Faye Goolsby, Diane Godwin, Mary Miller, all of Georgia; brothers, Edward and Ronnie of Tampa, Gary, Gerald, Cullen, and Larry Maxwell, all of Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 27, 2002, at noon, at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, with interment to follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. McINVALE, Robert R. Sr., 77, of Tampa, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2002 at home with his family. He is survived by five children, R. Reid McInvale, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Houston, Texas, Gary B. McInvale and his wife Kay of Houston, Texas, James (Jay) McInvale and his wife Susan of Cortland, N.Y., Anne M. Stang, and her husband, Rick of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Rebecca L. McInvale of Ta mpa; nine grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Gene McInvale and Joanne Butts of Warm Springs, Ga., Hazel Moss of Warner Robins, Ga., and Roy McInvale, Macon, Ga. Bob was a US Army Veteran, Mechanized Cavalry, of World War II. He served in the South Pacific and fought in many battles, including the battle for Layte Island, Kwajalein Atoll and Okinawa, Japan. He ended his World War II services in Korea after the surrender of Japan. A Tampa attorney, Bob graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1953. He became City Attorney of Manchester, Ga. and President of the Chamber of Commerce. In 1955 he and his family moved to Tampa. He became an Assistant County Attorney in the late 1960's as well as maintaining his private practice. He later became an Assistant Public Defender with the Juvenile Court, a specialty. He represented Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. in the State of Florida for 25 years. He was a Mason and a member of John Darling Lodge, F. & A.M. and Palma Ceia United Methodist Church for many years. Graveside services will be held in Manchester, Ga. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W Azeele St. Tampa, FL 33609.

MOBLEY, Richard Harold, 71, a professional harmonica player and retired Sears technician, passed away May 23, 2002. A native of Hornel, N.Y., he moved to Ocala in 1996. He was formerly of Tampa, where he resided from 1946-1996. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and was a licensed funeral director for 26 years. Mr. Mobley was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Ocala, a founding member and past president of Tampa East Sertoma Club and Tampa Bay Harmonica Club, a member of S.P.A.H. (Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica), and member of On Top of the World Flying Club. His proudest accomplishment was playing the harmonica during the 70's and 80's with his family, in a group he created called the Harmoni-Kids. He is survived by his wife, Milagros Mobley of Ocala; three daughters, Susan M. Guidi of Tampa, Theresa Ann Millay of Orlando, and Christine Mobley of Tampa; three sisters, Carol Princiotti of Connecticut, Irene Gillette of Pennsylvania and Dianne Calderazzo of Tampa; and eight grandchildren. PFARR, Anna `Annie` R., 84, of Valrico passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2002. She is survived by husband, Vincent Pfarr of Valrico; a son, Albert Joseph Pfarr of Valrico; a daughter, Carol Ann Cox of Brandon; a sister, Marie Penn of Evergreen Park, Ill.; three grandchildren, William A. and Michael A. Cox, and Terrence Shaughnessy; beloved aunt of Florence, Frain, Joan O'Brien, Mary Jean Davy, Ber nard and Raymond Penn; sister-in-law of Lillian Gebhardt, and beloved friend of many. Mrs. Pfarr lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1980 coming from Chicago. She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, and a volunteer at the Food Pantry, Blue Army, and Friendship Club. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2002 at Nativity Catholic Church. POWELL, Dennis L., age 53, passed from us gently on Thursday, May 23, 2002. He is survived by his life partner of 32 years, Don Stailey; his loving family includes his parents, Richard and Fran Powell of Horseshoe Beach; sister, Sharon Lardieri and partner Carol D'Alesando of Gulfport; brother, Richard and Marion Powell of Lake City; sister, Tina and Steve Blue of St. John, Virgin Islands and sister, Andrea and Paul Ferguson of NYC/Chapel Hill N.C. He was predeceased by his beloved grandmother, Nana Foley. Following his service in the Navy, Dennis graduated from USF with a double major and pursued a career as a retail entrepreneur operating businesses in Tampa, Sarasota and Key West. An avid traveler, he and Don became part owners of Salty Dog Travel in Tampa. As a remembrance, Dennis has requested that donations be made to the Tampa Humane Society. DALY, Thomas A., 76, of Dade City, died Saturday morning, May 25, 2002 at his home. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Thomas J. Daly and wife Barbara of Tampa and Dennis S. Daly and wife Kim of Novato, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara C. Daly of Tampa and Carol A. Kelley and husband Robert of Dade City; and six grandchildren. A native of Queens, N.Y., he moved to Dade City in 1974 from Long Island, N.Y. He retired from the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, N.Y., and retired from the Pasco County Sheriffs Dept., where he worked as a bailiff for 20 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; the Fraternal Order of Police; the Police Benevolent Association; the Retired Police Association; and the International Police Association. He served in the US N avy during World War II. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Monday (today) at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Rebel as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Hernando-Pasco Hospice.
