MORRIS, Stephen `Roscoe`, 82, of Tampa passed away March 29, 2003. Born May 20, 1920 in Athens, Alabama, he owned Roscoe's Meat Market for over 20 years, retired from Merita Bread Company. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Louise Morris. Survived by daughter, Judy Kersey of Tampa; sons, Steve and wife, Susan Morris of Tampa, Don and wife, Yvonne Morris of Lutz; nine grandchildren, and te n great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 31, 2003 at Swilley Funeral Home, 1602 W. NELSON, Steven Charles, 43, of Riverview passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2003. A native of Miami Beach he had resided here for five years coming from Coral Gables. A US Navy veteran he learned his love of the sea attending the Flint School aboard the square rigger, `Te Vega` and was a chef for 16 years. He is survived by his mother, Dolores Mills, Brandon; brother, George Nelson, St. Petersburg; sister, Kathryn Narbin, Silver Springs, Fla.; and his beloved pets, Blackie and David. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Nativity Catholic Church, Brandon. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Rd. She was a very active member of the Dover Advent Christian Church. Nellie is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, James I. RINKES, Ruth Janet, 66, of Tampa died Friday March 28, 2003 at LifePath Hospice. She was born icon in Baltimore, Md. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all she met. She is survived by her husband, Charles Rinkes of Tampa; five children, Darcie (Cliff) Ferguson of Crestview, Fla., Peggy George, Steven Rinkes and Amy (Thomas) Bogdahn of Tampa, Fla., Mathew (Angie) Rinke s of Warren, Mich.; four grandchildren, Carrie, Rebekka, Derrick and Holly; one brother, Lloyd Dinehart of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Peggy Dinehart and Beverly Pearce; both of Tampa, Fla. She was predeceased by one sister, Gin. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. SCHAUER, William E., 88, of Tampa passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 at Tampa General Hospital. He was preceded in death by two wives, Lorrayne Zeigler Schauer and Margaret Walker Schauer. He was retired from International Harvester in Louisville Kentucky: was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Survivors include a son, William C. Schauer, and his wife, Joyce, Tampa; two daughters, Judie L. Schauer Wiener, Rosholt, Wis., and Mary Gayle Ryan, Allen, Texas; four grandchildren, William E. Schauer III, Jason Wiener, Lorrayne Ryan and Nicole Ryan; and his favorite dog, Bubba. Mr. Varnum is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Barbara Varnum; his son, Matt Varnum of Mulberry; two daughters, Angela Jacoby of Lakeland and Melissa Varnum of St. Pete Beach; a sister, Teresa Bunner of Ocilla, Ga.; his grandchildren, Alex, Zach, Dillon and John. WHISNANT, Howard E., 71, of Tampa, passed away Mar. 29, 2003. He was born icon in Lawndale, N.C. and served his country in the US Army in Korea. He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise; sons, Douglas E. Featherston, Mark A. Featherston; daughters, Cassie Featherston, Holly Whisnant, Valerie Kenney; brother, Jim Whisnant; and twelve grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 2nd at the Mark III Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Annette; a son, Ronald; two daughters, Pamela Zajac and Gina Rabassi; two stepsons, David and James Learn; a stepdaughter, Victoria Learn; a sister, Grace Perek; nine grandchildren; and one great grandson. A native of Chicago, Ill., he has resided in Valrico since 1991 coming from Munster, Ind. He was an engineer with Ford Motor Co. and a U.S. Army veteran.

YATES, Jerry W., 84, of Durant passed away March 28, 2003. Mr. Yates was born icon August 6, 1918 in Bonifay, Florida, `A True Florida Cracker and a Real Farmer.` He retired after 34 years of service at IMC in Bartow, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marguerite Yates; five children, Larry Yates of Greenwood, Delaware, Susan Eatman of Plant City, Judy Wall of Porterville, California, Jon Rosenau of Valrico, and Jackie White of Durant. He was a wonderful Papa to thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by three sisters, Mella Lewis, Merthal Hodges, and Merlene Page; one brother,Harvey Lee Harrell; and a host of friends. Mr. Yates was a longtime Christian member of Ahava Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 2, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. WINTERS, Mrs. Minnie Lou, age 84, of 2222 Big Texas Valley Road, Rome, Ga., died Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at a Rome hospital. Mrs. Winters was born icon October 30, 1918, in Ben Hill County, Ga. She had been a resident of Floyd County since October 2002, having moved here from Atlanta, She spent most of her adult life in Tampa, Florida. She was retired from the City of Tampa Recreation Department as Recreation Director. She was a member of Seminole United Methodist Church at Tampa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Winters, February 23, 1999. Survivors include her son, Walter Winters of Laredo, Texas; her daughter, Rev. Patricia York of Rome; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive. Memorial Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Seminole United Methodist Church at Tampa, Florida with Rev. ALBRITTON, Merle Lee, 83, of Wauchula, died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Born in Bowling Green, FL, he was a life long resident of Hardee County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wauchula for over 60 years and was a lifetime deacon. He held the rank of captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps., and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with four oak leaf clusters. He was president of the 98th Bomb Group and member of the Wauchula American Legion. He was statewide harvesting supervisor for Coca-Cola Foods, Minute Maid division. He was a board member of the Hardee County Aviation Authority, the Hardee County Education Foundation Hall of Fame, and a member emeritus of the Wauchula Masonic Lodge. He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award by the Boy Scouts of America. He is survived by his wife, Alberta Albritton; a daughter, Merilyn Strickland of Fort Meade; a brother, Robert Hyman Albritton of Jacksonville, FL; four grandchildren, Martha Durranc e, John Davis, Miles Strickland, and Kyle Strickland. CARTER, Raleigh Martin, 70, of Thomaston, Ga., passed away Sunday, December 5, 2004, at home. Mr. Carter was born icon August 18, 1934, in Deland, Fla., to the late Wardie and Mildred Logue Carter. He was a retired railroad foreman for CSX Systems with over 42 years of experience. Mr. Carter was also an avid fisherman. CEANGA, Peter Harold, 80, of New Port Richey, died December 5, 2004, at home. He was born icon in Detroit, Mich., and has been a winter resident of New Port Richey for three years coming from Housatonic, Mass. He was a weapons engineer for General Electric in Pittsfield, Mass., a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was of the Greek Orthodox faith. He designed the guidance systems for the Poloris and Trident missiles and assisted in the design of the first night vision binoculars. He is survived by his sons, Shawn and Kevin Ceanga of Lee, Mass.; daughters, Cassandra Ascher of Springfield, Mass., Paulette Gennari of Housatonic, Mass., and Kimberly Poulin of New Port Richey; four grandchildren, Shannon, Kristin, Kyle and Keelin; and two great-grandchildren. CHOP, Raymond E., 67, of Apollo Beach, Fla., stepped into heaven December 5, 2004, after a noble fight with cutaneous t-cell lymphoma. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. In 1959 he received Navy wings of gold. After a one year tour in Vietnam he began his commercial flying career with TWA in 1970 and retired as captain from USAirways in October 1997. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Micalene Chop; his three children, Brenna Anne Pakes, Raymond Christopher Chop and Nicholas Franjo Chop; as well as grandchildren, Cara Leigh Pakes, Catherine Kennedy Pakes, Luke William Chop and Chloe Grace Chop. We would like to give our sincere thanks to Dr. Madeline Duvic of MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. L. Sokol of Moffitt Cancer Center and especially to the nursing staff at Moffitt Cancer Center, Carla, Mary Carrol, Mary, Lucy, Linda Rice, Tiana, Robin, Amy, Mark, Justin, Chris, Merlin, and our special angel in Critical Care, Terry. Service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dece mber 8, 2004, at the funeral home. Christ, Collene
CHRIST, Collene Schultz, of Tampa, was called home to heaven by our Lord December 4, 2004. She was born icon to Joe B. and Evelyn Wilson Schultz in Ada, Ohio, November 16, 1931. The family moved to Deland, Fla., where she graduated from Deland High School, Class of 1950. She received her nursing certificate from Gordon Keller School of Nursing in 1953. Mrs. Christ was active in the Arthritis Foundation. She was a dedicated nurse practicing at Tampa General Hospital, St. Joseph's Women's Hospital and the health department. She is survived by her husband, Roy "Dick" Christ; son, Rick Christ and wife, Donna; daughters, Lori O'Neal and Cynthia Lancaster; sister, Eunice Kuyper; and grandchildren, Christopher Christ, Jamie Fargen, Jason, Nicholas and Cory Lancaster, and Angela O'Neal. Crosby, Leon L.
CROSBY, Leon L. "Bing," 87, of Sun City Center, passed away December 6, 2004. Born in Staunton, Augusta County, Va., he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen McFall, and a brother, G.W. Crosby. Survived by his wife, Rita Baker; two stepchildren, Jane Baker of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Robert G. Baker Jr. and wife, Mary Ellen; two grand- daughters of Grapevine, Texas; and two brothers, Carl Malcolm of Staunton, Va., and Raymond Hunter and wife, Gladys, of Churchville, Va.; and many loving nieces and nephews. After 31 years with the federal government with the Navy Department of Engineering and six years with Eureka Drug Company of Laurens, S.C., he retired to Sun City Center in 1978. He helped establish the Sun City Center Security Patrol in 1979 and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center. He was founding member of the Caloosa Country Club and a member of the Roamin' Oldies Classic Car Club with his beloved 1959 red Cadillac convertible. Memorial service will be 3 p. m. Friday, December 10, 2004, at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Boulevard West, Sun City Center, Fla. Dearhart Jr., Aubrey
DEARHART, Aubrey Jr., 84, of Plant City, passed away December 5, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Dearhart. He is survived by three sons, Allen Dearhart, Anthony Dearhart and Felton Young; four daughters, Fronda Balestreri, Janice Blanchard, Donna Cole and Brenda Hutchinson; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Mr. Dearhart served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 9, 2004, at 10 a.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. L.B. Keene officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. from Hopewell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to LifePath Hospice, 3010 W. Azeele St., Tampa, FL 33609.
