ESPY, Melvin Gerald, 87, of Holiday, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at his caregivers' residence. He was born icon in Jeffersonville, Ind., and moved here from Bedford, Ind., in 1970. Melvin retired as a mail carrier for the US Postal System, working in Bedford, Ind., and Clearwater, Fla., after 30 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a member of Suncoast Baptist Church in New Port Richey, the National Letter Carriers Association and had been a referee and umpire for high school sports in Indiana. Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Jean Brinegar of Newburgh, Ind.; four grandchildren, Kathi Pirsch of Terre Haute, Ind., Diana Brinegar of Newburgh, Ind., Christina Mitchelson and Kevin Espy, both of Odessa, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Ed and Ninette McClelland of Holiday. A memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at the Suncoast Baptist Church of New Port Richey.

FERRALL, William F., 81, of New Port Richey, died December 4, 2004, at home. He was born icon in East Liverpool, Ohio, and lived in New Port Richey for 10 years coming from Wellsville, Ohio. He was owner and operator of Ferralls Supply Co. in Wellsville, Ohio, and was a veteran of U.S. Naval Air in World War II. He was a Protestant, a life member of D.A.V. in Wellsville, Ohio, and a life member of V.F.W. in Wellsville. Survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine R.; sons, William F. Ferrall III of Simi Valley, Calif., and Steven W. Ferrall of New Port Richey; four grandchildren, Rachel, Steven, Marci and Hillary; and five great-grandchildren, Kyle, Chelsea, Gwen, Jenna and Andrew. Private interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Arrangements entrusted to Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home in New Port Richey.

FITZGERALD, Thomas Kenneth, died Saturday, December 4, 2004, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He is survived by his wife, Debi; two sons, Shane and his wife, Natalie, and Jesse; a grandson, Caelan; his mother, Betty; two brothers, James and his wife, Debra, and Sam and his wife, Bette; two sisters, Bonnie Horrocks and her husband, Brian, and Debbie Risso and her husband, Neal; three nephews, Ryan and Kenny Horrocks, and J. J. Lawrence; and two nieces, Ashley Horrocks and Dawn Lawrence. Mr. Fitzgerald started his coaching career at Jesuit High School in Tampa, coached at the University of Tampa for 10 years before moving to the professional level with the Columbus Crew. He then went on to coach at UCLA and returned to the University of Tampa last year. The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. 3:00 p.m. Tuesday (today), December 7, 2004, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave., with memorial services starting at 3 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 4:30 p.m. a t the soccer stadium at the University of Tampa. FRISBIE, Loyal, 89, of Bartow, Fla., died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Bartow Memorial Hospital in Bartow, Fla. Mr. Frisbie was editor and publisher for the Polk County Democrat and Fort Meade Leader Newspapers of Polk County. He was a past lay leader and longtime Sunday school teacher of the Bartow First United Methodist Church, a 1937 graduate of Florida Southern College, past president and Paul Harris Fellow of the Bartow Rotary Club, past president Florida Press Association, honorary Doctor of Letters degree from FSC in 1985, and member of 75th Infantry Division Veterans Association. He was an Army combat veteran during World War II. He is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Kelley Frisbie. He is survived by his son, S. L. Frisbie and his wife, Mary, of Bartow, Fla.; granddaughters, Peggy Frisbie of Bartow, and Carolyn Holton and her husband, Jim, of Lakeland; grandson, Loyal Frisbie V and his wife, Julie Knudsen, of Gainesville; great-grandson, William Loyal "Liam" Holton of Lakeland; and brother, Richard R. GRIMSHAW, Charlotte A., 94, of New Port Richey, passed away on December 3, 2004, at the Community Hospital in New Port Richey. She was born icon in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved here from Brooklawn, N.J., in 1966. She was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in New Port Richey, and the Order of the Eastern Star in New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her children, Louis Harvey, Charlotte Tomaziefski and Jeanette Founds. She is survived by her stepson, James Fairbanks Harvey Jr. of Kansas; two daughters, Alice W. DiNardo and her husband Albert of New Port Richey and Virginia "Ginny" Decker and her husband Harry of Orangeburg, S.C.; and by many grand- children, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand- children. HAGMAN, Jeff M., 25, of Land O'Lakes, passed away Friday, December 3, 2004. Jeff was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Land O'Lakes and a manager at Sound Advice. An avid fan of NASCAR, Jeff also enjoyed golf and tailgating with friends at Bucs games. Jeff is survived by father, Bob, and wife, Joy Hagman; mother, Beth Hagman; sister, Karen Kellerson and husband, David; paternal grandmother, Shirley Hagman; maternal grandmother, Barbara Morgan; three uncles, Roy Hagman, Ron Hagman and David Morgan; one aunt, Carol Shaw, and husband, David; and numerous nieces and nephews. HAHN, Keith E., 58, of Brooksville, passed away at home December 6, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Marice Hahn; children, Michelle Arsenault and husband, Tony, Ludowici, Ga., and Michele DeShong and husband, Chip, Brooksville, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth Hahn and wife, Joan, Brooksville; four grandchildren, Tony Arsenault Jr., Blair DeShong, Wyatt Arsenault and Emilee DeShong; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hahn was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. He was the owner of Hahn's Speed & Custom in Tampa for 14 years and an employee of Stroh's Brewery and Yuengling Brewery for the past 18 years. ADAMS, Dillard J., 90, of Port Richey, Fla., passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Covington, Ga., he moved to Florida in 1980 from Merrick, N.Y. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and was a veteran of World War II and Korea, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was also a member of the VFW Post, Port Richey, Fla., and the National Association of Letter Carriers. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #0401 in Owego, New York, the Rioga Country Club in Nichols, New York and a Charter Member of Clifton Springs Country Club in Clifton Springs, New York. He was an avid Golfer, a resident of Avon Park, since 2001, coming from Owego, New York and of the Catholic Faith. He is survived by: his wife, Alma M. BRADBURY, Mary Capitano "Lil' Mary," 70, passed away on October 5, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Florida and lived in the Okee- chobee area for the past 17 years, coming from Tampa, where she was born icon and raised. Before retirement, she was a cigar maker for Hav-A-Tampa for 29 years, but most of all she was a wife, mom, granny and friend. Momma had the gift of making a room light up with her presence and could cook a mean pot of spaghetti ("sketty"). She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Pete and Theresa Capitano; brother, Frank Capitano; sister, Lenora Capitano; and brother-in-law, Reed Brewer. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, James Bradbury; sons, Danny Miley and Bill (Karen) Miley; daughters, Violet (Heinz) Bachmann, Laura (Kurt) Middleton and Karen Miley (a daughter-in-law by paper, a daughter by heart); 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren (with another on the way); stepsons, Randy, Mike and James Jr. "Lil' James"; two stepgrandchildren; her brother, Sam (Sylvia) Capitano; sisters, Frances Brewer and Betty (Scott) Hardy; sister-in-law and wife of her late brother, Aenita Asbell; a dear cousin and special friend, Marie Corrales (Ruben). After graduating from Lakeland High School, he moved to Hillsborough County, where he began work as a plasterer. He retired in 1993 from B&R Construction Co. Paul's love for life was his family. He had a passion for woodworking and was a die-hard NASCAR fan. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna; mother, Vivian Brower; four sons, Raymond, Philip and Bryan Brower, and Charles Fuqua; two daughters, Sandra Price and Cheryl Simon; two brothers, Gerald (Gail) and Jack (Diane) Brower; two sisters, Benecia (Bob) Gunnin and Diane Russell; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Carney, John "Mike"
CARNEY, John Michael "Mike", 55, formerly of Avon Park, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2004. Mike was born icon to Virginia and Raymond Carney in Miami, raised in Wicksburg, AL and a resident of Avon Park for many years. Mike returned to Wicksburg, AL in 2002. Mike graduated from Wicksburg High School and still today holds the distinction of scoring the highest SAT score for Wicksburg High School, an accomplishment doubted by many officials from such a "character" in his high school days. Working in various states and as far away as the US Virgin Islands, Mike had an early career working as a telephone engineer. Following his liking to the fire service, Mike later served as a firefighter, code enforcement officer, and fire marshall for the City of Avon Park. Mike lived with a zest for knowledge and a liking to debate anyone at anytime on any issue. Being raised by a crop duster and flight instructor, Mike had a love for aviation and gained much pleasure in piloting his Cessna. He also enjoyed serving as assistant coach for the APHS swim team. Mike is survived by his wife of nine years, Theresa Carney; daughter Becky Barley of Sebring; son, Mike Carney of Sebring; stepdaughters; Terry Lynn Wadley of Ocala, Christy Pelt of Ocala and Erin McElroy of Maysville, NC; three grandchildren. He was an audiovisual technician with Marriott Hotel. Family and friends will gather 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. He will be greatly missed.
