MARIE CROFTON ALMAND, 88, of Tampa died Sunday at Brandon Regional Medical Center. A native of Sydney, she was a longtime resident of the Tampa area. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Palm River. She is survived by a son, Curtis Crofton of Dallas; two daughters, Alverta Coker and Dot Butler, both of Tampa; two stepsons; two stepdaughters; a brother, Monroe Pearson of Dover; a sister, Jonnie Porter of Dover; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. JOHN M. BIEGEL, 58, of Brandon died Saturday at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center. A native of Chicago, he moved to the Tampa area 26 years ago. He was a mechanic for Golf Cart Systems, Catholic and member of the Illinois National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Regina R.; a stepson, James Kevin Hardiman of Brandon; two brothers, George of Rockford, Ill., and Dave of Posen, Ill.; and four sisters, Carole Medland of Orland Park, Ill., Phyllis Harman of River Forest, Ill., Mary Ann Kromray of Palmdale, Calif., and Beverly Graver of River Ridge, La. WILLIAM MELVIN BLAIR, 54, of Tampa died Monday at University Community Hospital, Carrollwood. A native of Louisville, Ky., he moved to Tampa in 1995 from St. Petersburg. He is survived by two brothers, Joseph of Louisville and Kenneth of Alexandria, Va.; and three sisters, Flora Blanchard of Beaver Dam, Ky., and Gloria and Margie, both of Jeffersonville, Ind.
