Arabella Marie Brewer
Arabella Marie Brewer, 89, of Satellite Beach, passed away, Thursday, March 26, 2009. She was born in St. Isadora, New Brunswick, Canada to Julie (Brison) and Mathias Arsenault. She married her husband, Arthur L. Brewer, in 1942. Her husband was killed in the line of duty in the Air Force while serving in Vietnam in 1968. She had fallen in love with the Brevard area, and continued her association with Patrick Air Force Base in a civil service position as a data processor until she retired in 1985. Arabella has been a active member of the St. George Catholic community at the PAFB since her arrival in Brevard County. For over 20 years, she greeted members during the coffee social after mass. If you needed help with a potluck or other church event, she was always there to lend a helping hand. Arabella is also fondly remembered for her car, a classic white 1967 Buick Skylark. Initially she didn't like the car, but just couldn't part with it. It has 300,000 miles on it. She told stories of young men pulling up to her at a stop light and asking if she wanted to sell them her car. She is survived by her brother Joseph Arsenault of Quebec Canada, Allen Arsenault of Auburn, MA, sister Julia Pendleton of Worcester, MA., and sister in law Barbara Arsenault of West Boylston, MA. She is also survived by godchildren Raymond Arsenault, Julie McLaurin, Richard Arsenault, and Wayne Mong. Nephews surviving Arabella are Wayne Pendleton, John "Jack" Arsenault, John Arsenault. Nieces surviving Mrs. Brewer are Joan Brunzell, Ellen Arsenault, Rose Hughes, Beverly Doolittle, and Therese Sebring. She is also survived by her brother's widow, Janet Allard. She has been assisted during her illness by her great niece, Andrea Gilbert of Bronson, Florida. A memorial service will be held, 11 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2009, at South Patrick Base Chapel. George S. Newman
George S. Newman, 88, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at his residence in Melbourne, Fl. George was born December 7, 1919 in New York City. He was married to Martha (Mattie) Newman who predeceased him in 2003. George graduated from Columbia University with Bachelor and Master degrees at age 21. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, surviving landings in France on D-Day, Italy (Anzio) and North Africa. Upon his return to the US, he brought his Scottish war bride, Mattie home with him. They were inseparable from that time on, traveling the globe together. After the war, George worked for the Bureau of the Budget in Washington and subsequently joined the American Foreign Service. George specialized in the liaison between the diplomatic corps and the military. He and Mattie served overseas in the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, and England. They also lived in Australia. They traveled extensively throughout the world. In 1974, following a distinguished career with the Foreign Service, George worked in Washington, D.C. as a consultant for BDM International, Inc. He and Mattie lived briefly in Winchester, VA before retiring to Melbourne in 1995. George is survived by his foster daughter, Janet (Jeff) Bayless of Berthoud, CO, cousins Regina Kaplan (Delray, FL) and Geraldine Barnick (Boynton Beach, FL), and many friends worldwide. No services are planned. A dinner with friends was held in George’s honor at his favorite Melbourne restaurant, Pineda Crossing. Maureen R. Cregg
Maureen R. Cregg, died April 14, 2004, in Melbourne.
Born in Newburyport, MA she lived in Brevard County since 1980.
Miss Cregg was a graduate of Gould Academy and Trinity College Washington D.C. She served her country proudly as a director of service clubs for the U.S. Air Force in North Dakota, Louisiana, Japan, Morocco and Spain.
She was a member of the League of Women Voters and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Maureen is survived by her sister Natalie Ballard; two brothers, Donald Cregg and Hugh Cregg, Jr.; five nephews and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Melbourne Beach.

Evelyn Chrusciel
Evelyn Chrusciel, 89, died Sunday, April 4, 2004.
She was born in Passaic, NJ and came to Florida in 1984.
Evelyn is survived by her niece, Dr. Nancy Bottge.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Wednesday, April 7, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Palm Bay.
Virginia Polk O’Conor
Virginia Polk O’Conor, born May 26, 1917 Ft. Wayne Indiana. Departed April 11, 2004, Melbourne.
married to the late John Edward O’Conor Jr. They moved to Indialantic in 1994 from Miami and retired to the Fountains of Melbourne in 2003.
Mrs. O’Conor was an accomplished, pianist, singer and dancer throughout her professional career. She hosted her own talk show in 1938 as one of America’s first woman in that field. She wrote poetry, composed music and competed in ballroom dancing well into her 80’s.
She was a cousin to President James Polk and her great uncle helped draft the Indiana State Constitution.
Mrs. O’Connor is survived by her nephews, John O’Conor Leonard of Ft. Wayne, IN and Allan Pullman of Nyack, NY; two first cousins, Rev. Dr. Joe G. Emerson of Bloomington, IN and Lytle Emerson of Franklin, IN.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 16 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Indialantic. The Rosary will be said prior to the mass at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge.

Joyce A. Riepenhoff, 77, of Indialantic, Fl. died Friday, Sept. 15th, 2000 at her residence. Mrs. Riepenhoff was born in South Shore, Kentucky. She came to Brevard County in l980 from Dayton, Ohio. She was a Realtor. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club of South Brevard, Palmdale Presbyterian Church, Past president and member of Holmes Regional Hospital Auxiliary and The New Neighbors Club. She is survived by her husband of 52 years Ralph Riepenhoff, Son- Charles Riepenhoff of Dayton, Ohio, Sister-Wilma James of West Portsmouth, Oh. Sister- Minnie McElhaney of South Shore, Ky. John William Billington
John William Billington of Satellite Beach, Fl. died Monday, October 2, 2000 at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Mr. Billington was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He came to Brevard County in 1967. He was a Master Sgt. from the U. S. Air Force, with 24 years of dedicated service. He is survived by his wife Maria N. Billington of Satellite Beach, Son Joseph J. Sidney Charles "Charley" Coon
Sidney Charles "Charley" Coon, 71, of Melbourne, Florida died Tuesday, Ocotber 3, 2000 in Green Coast Spring, Florida. Mr. Coon was born in Fredonia, New York. He came to Brevard County in 1973 from Tampa, Fl. He was a MSGt with the United States Air Force with 29 years of dedicated service, after retiring he went into Civil Service. He was a member of American Legion Post #200. He is survived by his wife Helen V. Coon, Daughter Patricia Carter of Brandon, Fl., 3 step-sons- Howard Moore of California, Danny Moore of Alabama and Tim Moore of Rockledge, Fl., 9 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 7th, 10:00AM at Beach Funeral Home with full military honors. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia. Royson Newton Whipple
Royson Newton Whipple, 88, of Indialantic, Florida died Sunday, Ocotber 8, 2000 at his home. He was born in Buffalo, New York on May 28, 1912. He was an alumnus of the University of Michigan, Cornell University, the University of Alabama and Syracuse University. Mr. Whipple was an educator in New York State for 43 years, moving from his position as Athletic Director at Webster High School in 1945 to start the Food Technology Program at the State University of New York at Morrisville and becoming President of the institution in 1957. He moved to Florida upon his retirement in 1978. He was listed in "Who's Who in America" and "American Men of Science". Mr. Whipple was a member of the Institute of Food Technology, the Frozen Food Institute, the Masons, the Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Martha; two daughters and their spouses, Sharon and William Martle of Carthage, NY, and Enid and John Callander of Burke, VA; four grandchildren- William Martle, Enid Martle Weiss, Steven Callander and Mary Callander Catalucci, and one great-grandchild, Jessica Catalucci, two sisters-Janice Doane of Senceca Falls, NY and Pat Hall of Roseville, Mn. A Memorial service is planned for a later date in Morrisville.
