Leslie Alan Boyd, Jr. age 19, of Tavares passed away on July 5, 2010.

He is survived by his mother Carlen Fryer and step-father James Fryer; of Tavares; father Leslie Boyd, Sr.; brother Damien Boyd and sister Congenia Fischer both of Tavares.

A Gathering was held on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 6-8 pm at the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel, 326 East Orange Avenue, Eustis, 352-357-4193.

Edward Raymond Cox
March 15, 1938 - July 8, 2010

Edward Raymond Cox, 72, of Eustis passed away on Thursday July 8, 2010. He was born in Chesapeake, Ohio and moved here in 1991 from Huntington, West Virginia. He was a retired metal alloy engineer, a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his children Susan (Gary) Davis of Eustis, Brian Cox of Orlando and Shari (Mike) Brooks of Eustis, his grandchildren, Stacie (Nicholas) Boheme, Megan (Jason) Pippin, Josh Brooks and Erin Cox, his great-grand children, Ellie Boheme, Bailey Boheme and Tucker Pippin, his sisters, Judy Stanley of Ocala and Pam Lynch of Huntington, West Virginia.

The final resting place will be Rome cemetery Proctorville, Ohio. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to Cornerstone Hospice, 2445 Lane Park Road Tavares, 32778.

Ethel L. Bain
October 18, 1918 - July 8, 2010

Ethel L. Bain, 91 of Tavares passed away on Thursday July 8, 2010. She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky and moved here originally in 1965. Mrs. Bain was the widow of Mr. Kenneth R. Bain the long time Minister of Lake Eustis Christian Church (formerly the First Church of Christ) of Eustis; they were married for 63 years. She was a very active member of the Lake Eustis Christian Church and had been active in Eustis garden clubs.

Mrs. Bain is survived by her son Walter L. (Lynn) Bain of Eustis; grandchildren, Christopher (Sonia) Bain of Brooklyn, New York and Joshua Bain of Mount Dora and her great-grandchildren Caleb Bain and Janak Bain.

Friends called at the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 2 until 4 PM. Services were held in the Lake Eustis Christian Church on Monday July 12, 2010 at 11 O’clock AM with William E. Twaddell, Minister and Robert F. Bender, Minister officiating. Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis.

Evelyn Mae McLane
August 19, 1917 - July 12, 2010

Evelyn Mae McLane, 92, of Tavares, FL, passed away on July 12, 2010.

She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to this area from Boca Raton in 1996. She was Catholic and had been active in St. Lucy’s Catholic Church of Highland Beach, Florida. She was also an avid boater and a former member of the Lighthouse Point, Florida Yacht Club.

Evelyn McLane was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McLane and one grandson, Mike McLane.

Mrs. McLane is survived by her sons, Fred M. McLane of Tyler, Texas and his wife, Joan Mills, and William (Barbara) McLane of Eustis, FL; three grandsons, Christian McLane, of Beebe, AR; Robert McLane, of Cocoa Beach, FL; and William McLane, of Owasso, OK; one granddaughter, Melissa Mirsaeidi, of Tulsa, OK; two greatgranddaughters, Molly Wallace, of Van Buren, AR; and Randi McLane, of Alma, AR; and two great-greatgrandsons, Kaleb Wallace and Jacob Wallace, both of Van Buren, AR.

Graveside services were held in Boca Raton Municipal Cemetery, Boca Raton, FL on Thursday, July 15, 2010.

Julia M. Bagwell
December 14, 1928 - July 16, 2010

Julia M. Bagwell, 81, of Mount Dora passed away on July 16, 2010. She was born in Mount Dora and was a life long resident. She was a member of the Mount Dora Church of God.

Mrs. Bagwell is survived by her husband of 63 years, Samuel, her children; Samuel (Patricia) Bagwell of Alpharetta, Georgia, Stanley (Deborah) Bagwell of Tangerine and Teresa (Randy) Williams of Tavares, her grandchildren, Shevin Bagwell, Agena Fernandes, Todd Williams, Tabitha Conner, Sterling Bagwell and Dara Bagwell and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family received friends in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel in Eustis on Monday, July 19, 2010 from 5 until 7 PM. Services were in the Chapel on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at 11 AM. Private interment followed in Lake Side Memory Gardens, Eustis. The family requests those desiring direct memorials to New Life Ministries, 1360 Indiana Avenue, Mount Dora, Florida 32757.

Loretta J. Ferguson
July 15, 2010

Loretta J. Ferguson 76 of Paisley, Florida and Linden, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday July 15, 2010. She was born in Dushore, Pennsylvania and had made Paisley her winter home since 1991. She was a retired machinist in the cable manufacturing industry. Mrs. Ferguson is survived by her husband Walter, her children James (Rhonda) Fedroff, Mary, Mike Fedroff and Renee Ryder all of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Jeff Fedroff of Phoenix, Arizona and other family members.

Ronald K. Gooding
July 31, 1937 - July 16, 2010

Ronald K. Gooding, 72, of Eustis passed away Friday, July 16, 2010. He was born in Kinston, North Carolina and had been a Lake County resident since 1998 moving here from Deerfield Beach, Florida. He was an accountant and a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Viet Nam War.

He is survived by his wife Alison and his children Ronald K. Gooding, Jr. and Gina Latham both of Greenville, South Carolina, his grandchildren; Sam Gooding, Jack Gooding, Katherine Latham, Hayden Latham and Hailey Richardson, his step-children; Erika Richardson and Jamie Hogrefe both of Sorrento and Paul Hogrefe of Orlando.

Virginia Sinkovic
June 9, 1912 - July 19, 2010

Virginia Sinkovic, age 98, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to this area from Toledo, Ohio in 2003. She attended St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church of Eustis. Our mother went to meet her husband, Felix; brothers, John and Chuckie, also sisters, Helen, Stella and Ann; and grandson, Rick Sinkovic, all of whom passed away years ago.

For the past 7 years Mother has been in Eustis, Florida, staying with her daughter Joy, and this is where she passed away, going to meet with her loving family. Our mother was a very hard worker over the years and one of her first jobs was back in the 1940's working at St. Vincent Hospital with the Grey Nuns. She truly loved that job. After the war she worked in a number of other jobs and finally ended up at a company called Impact, a job she truly enjoyed going to each day. She made so many friends there, pepple who enjoyed being with and around her. When Mother retired the entire Impact staff made our mother "Queen For A Day". She thought she was going out for dinner but she walked into a gala party for her. They decked her out with a bright red cloak, a beautiful crown and scepter. One of her comments during the event was "If I live to be a 100 years old, which I am not far from, I will never find more caring people than everyone here at Impact", and she went on to thank Mr. Harbal and Gayle and all who had a part in her retirement party and "Queen For A Day". After that she sure felt like a Queen.

Virginia is survived by her children, John C. Sinkovic of Toledo, OH, Walter J (Pat) Sinkovic of Ft. Myers, FL, and Joy (Steve) Wonus of Eustis, FL; grandchildren, John (Janet) Sinkovic, Dale Sinkovic, Bill (Monica) Wonus, Andrea (Travis) Childers, Debbie (Robert) Merritt, Lisa Bland, Greg (Gail) Sinkovic, Jim (Tammy) Sinkovic, Rick Krohn, and Janet (Chuck) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Robert and Melissa Sinkovic, Jennifer (Tommy) Cecil, Kate, Tyler, and Graycen Wonus, Dylan and Lyla Childers, Matthew and Kimberly Merritt, Elizabeth and Tom Bland, Joel and Jessie Edmonds, Gabrella and Garen Sinkovic, and Ericka Krohn; great-great-grandchildren, Colton and Oakley Cecil, and Jaxon Edmonds

A Visitation was held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Saturday July 24, 2010 from 2 until 4 PM, a Wake Service was conducted at 3 PM. Mrs. Sinkovic was transferred to Blanchard – Strabler Funeral Home (419-269-1111) Toledo, Ohio where friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, July 27 from 4pm to 8pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 28 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, Fr. Christopher Vasko, officiant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Those desiring may direct memorials to the charity of their choice.

Elizabeth S. Cantrell
December 14, 1967 - July 21, 2010

Elizabeth S. Cantrell 42, of Eustis, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. She was born in St. Petersburg and lived here since 1973. She worked in the restaurant industry and is survived by her sons, Matthew Williams of Miami and Joshua Cantrell of Eustis, her mother Eunice Cantrell of Eustis, her brothers Robert Cantrell and Charles Cantrell both of Eustis and her sisters Charlotte Bakle of Apopka and Angel Dechat of France. She was predeceased by her father, Jay Cantrell in 1986 and her sister Regina in 2007.

John H. Davis
July 23, 1934 - July 21, 2010

John H. Davis 75, of Grand Island, passed away in Leesburg on Wednesday July 21, 2010. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved here in 2000 from Pennsauken, New Jersey. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Umatilla, a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired market researcher and a 1956 Graduate of Harvard University. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife Joan, his children; Alan Davis, Scott (Joanne) Davis of New Jersey and Janet (Rick) Haley also of New Jersey, three stepsons Stephen (Gerri) Jackson of New Jersey, David (Tyla) Jackson of Pennsylvania and John (Beth) Jackson of New Jersey, sixteen grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 11 O'clock A.M., at the First United Methodist Church of Umatilla, 352-669-2741.

Joseph M. Machamer
May 10, 1953 - July 23, 2010

Joseph M. Machamer 57, of Tavares, passed away on Friday July 23, 2010. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and moved to this area in1982. He worked as a chef and was a Catholic.

He is survived by his children Joseph J. Machamer of Leesburg and Laurie Machamer of Tavares, his father Ernest J. Machamer of Eustis, his siblings; James E. (Jenny) Machamer of Eustis, Karl E. (Edie) Machamer of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Ernest J. (Rita) Machamer of Umatilla, Florida, Patricia Gittins of Yuma, Arizona, Frances M. (George) Gerst of Grand Island, Florida and Margaret “Peggy” (John) Brennan of Eustis and one granddaughter, Courtney Machamer of Leesburg.

The family received friends at the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 5 until 7 p.m., Wake Services were held at 6 p.m. Mr. Machamer was taken to Portsmouth, Virginia for interment in Portsmouth Catholic Cemetery.

Alice Kovacs
February 21, 1914 - July 27, 2010

Alice Kovacs 96, of Mount Dora, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and moved here in 1996 from Delaware. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Mrs. Kovacs is survived by her children, Gilbert Kovacs of California, George Kovacs of Redondo Beach, California and Gloria Brandon of Orlando, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Peggy A. Moore
July 29, 2010

Peggy A. Moore 74, of Eustis, passed away in Tavares on Thursday, July 29, 2010. She was born in Macon, Georgia and moved here in 1987 from Ohio. Peggy was a beautician and was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth, her son Christopher Moore of Altoona, daughter, Deborah Tesmer of Dayton, Ohio, grandsons, Aaron, Joseph and Christopher, brother, Milton Branch of Macon, Georgia, sister Margaret Marie Hall of Miamisburg, Ohio, other loving family members and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the charity of choice. Funeral services were held in the Lewis & Sullivan Chapel in Seaman, Ohio on Friday, August 6, 2010. Interment followed in Cherry Fork Cemetery, Cherry Fork, Ohio.

Ruth H. Guy
October 13, 1919 - July 29, 2010

Mrs. Ruth H. Guy, of Umatilla, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the age of 90 years. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Miami in 1954 with her late husband, John W. Hunt, who preceded her in death in 1972.

Ruth retired from Surgical Nursing in N. Miami in 1982 and relocated to Kissimmee. She married Allen L. Guy in 1983. They were together until his passing away in 1997. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kissimmee until she moved to Umatilla in 2006. Ruth loved to travel, always had a smile on her face and wanted to help everybody.

She will be dearly missed by her loving family, daughters, Jaine (William) Wood of Quinton, NJ, Betty Lou Hlavsa of Pulaski, TN and Linda (Thomas) Tindall of Umatilla, FL; son, John Hunt of Kissimmee, FL; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and her beloved cat, Emma. Arrangements are entrusted to Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Directors, Eustis, FL, 352-357-4193.

Elizabeth S. Thiele
July 31, 2010

Elizabeth S. Thiele 95, of Eustis passed away in Mount Dora on July 31, 2010. She was born in Yardley, Pennsylvania and moved here from North Tonawanda, New York in 2006. She was a long time member of St. Martin Lutheran Church of North Tonawanda and locally of St Phillip Lutheran Church of Mount Dora.

Mrs. Thiele is survived by her daughter Marie (Bill) Cole of Eustis, her daughter-in-law Julien Thiele of North Tonawanda, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Paul earlier this year.

Final services and interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst, New York.

Sadye D. Smith
August 4, 2010

Sadye D. Smith 94, of Apopka, passed away on Wednesday, August 04, 2010. She was born in Lilburn, Georgia and moved to Apopka from Mount Dora in 2007. She was affiliated with The First Baptist Church of Central Florida of Ocoee.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Richard) Rutherford of Orlando, daughter-in-law Eileen Smith of Longwood, grandchildren Richard, Laura and Michael Rutherford, step grandchildren, Theresa Collins and Suzanne Valdez, one great-grandson, Ronnie Rutherford Robertson and her sister Helen Smith of Sanford. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her husband Nelson in 2007 and her son Nelson Smith Jr. in 2008.

Services were held in the Hamlin & Hilbish Chapel in Eustis, at 10 O'clock a.m.,on Friday August 6th,2010, with Dr. Allen Higginbotham officiating. Private interment followed in Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora.
