Raymond J. Cook, 55, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2005. He was born on September 3, 1949 in Speichersdorf, Germany to the late Raymond R. Cook and Charlotte M. Kochanek. Raymond married Bonnie Castor on April 16, 1970 in DePeyster, N.Y.. He and his family moved to Florida in 1981 from Ogdensburg, N.Y.. Raymond was employed for several years as a Water Operator with Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Raymond was preceded in death by his brother, Michael and his sister Shirley. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Cook, of Mount Dora, FL; his daughter, Renee Taggart, of Haines City, FL; his brother, Mitchell Cook, of Heuvelton, N.Y.; his two sisters, Jean Ketchum, of Eustis, FL and Carol Butts, of Vermont and four grandchildren. Visitation is from 1:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora, FL. Funeral service is at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday January 26, 2005 in the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Chapel, with Friend and Member of P.F. Ministries Philip Keck, III officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Forest cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.

Helen Hill VanZant
Helen Hill VanZant, 79, beloved wife of Samuel Ezra for 55 happy years, loving mother of three fine sons, Sam Jr. (Sharon) of Centennial, Co., Jim (Janet) of Littleton, Co. and Bob (Nancy) of Missoula, MT. She was also the proud grandmother of seven, Katie, Tim, Michael, Kent, Sara, Rayna and Zach, who were her “stars-in-the –heavens.” Helen was a native of Kinston, N.C., having met and married Sam there in 1949. Together they traveled the country as a Marine Corps family, finally settling in Denver, Colorado upon Sam’s military retirement. They made lasting friendships across the country and have fond memories of those relationships. Helen and Sam moved to Florida in 1999 for health reasons and to be near the Hill family. She leaves an older sister, Edna Lee (Whitey), brother Gene Hill (Kay) sisters’-in-law, Adela Hill and JoAnne Hill. Together this family made many memories that all of her grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews will forever cherish. Calling hours are from 1:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2005 at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora, Florida. Memorial service begins at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, January 28, 2005 in the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Skip Haymans officiating. Interment will be at Fort Logan National cemetery in Colorado. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Hospice of Lake and Sumter, Inc., 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, Florida 32778 or American Lung Association, 1333 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, Florida 32804.

Agnes M. Edwards
Agnes M. Edwards, 91, of Mount Dora, FL passed away Friday, January 21, 2005 after a two year battle with colon cancer. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in Norway and was a retired executive secretary. She and her husband, Lewis C. Edwards, moved to Mount Dora in 1973 from Connecticut. Mr. Edwards passed away in 1987 and Mrs. Edwards continued to live independently in their home, traveling to visit her children and grandchildren in New York and California. Right to the end of her life, Mrs. Edwards touched people’s hearts and inspired doctors, nurses, family and friends with the strength of her spirit, her wit and humor, and the generosity of her loving nature. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends, including her three children, Douglas, Barbara and Lawrence Edwards; her two grandchildren, Molly and Glenn Edwards; Terry Snowberger and Tom and Brenda Abrahamson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Hospice of Lake & Sumter, Inc., 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778 in Mrs. Edwards’ memory.

Gladys Myrtle Brace
Gladys Myrtle Brace, 85, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2005. She was born to the late Maurice N. Geoffrion and Myrtle I. (McCullough) Geoffrion on December 4, 1919 in Toledo, OH. She married the love of her life, Robert Brace, on November 10, 1945. Mrs. Brace was employed for many years as the Assistant to the Secretary of Owens – Illinois Glass Corporation. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ellen. Mrs. Brace is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert George Brace of Mount Dora, FL; her two sisters, Ursula M. Brown and Beverly A. Viertlbeck, both of Toledo, OH; nephews, David Viertlbeck of Vanwent, OH and Dennis Hogeland, of Dallas, TX; nieces, Karen Barker of Whitehouse, OH, Julie Geoffrion of Toledo, OH and Janet Handley, of Austin, TX and; sisters-in-law Ila Geoffrion, of Toledo, OH and Marjorie Hogeland of Austin, TX. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mrs. Brace’s memory to the Waterman Village Chapel Memorial Fund, 445 Waterman Avenue, Mount Dora, FL 32757, in care of Dr. Alan Jones, Chaplain. Memorial service is at 1:30 PM on Monday, January 24, 2005 in the Lodge at Waterman Village, with Dr. Alan Jones officiating. Interment will be private.

James E. “Gene” Wallace
James E. “Gene” Wallace, 76, of Eustis, FL died Wednesday, January 19, 2005. He was born to the late William Travis Wallace and Mary (Ramer) Wallace on February 8, 1928 in Andalusia, AL. Gene was a retired truck driver. He also was a long time NRA member. Gene was preceded in death by his son Byron Wallace. He is survived by his five sons, Jerry Wallace of Tavares, FL, Ken Wallace of Eustis, FL, Keith Wallace of Apopka, FL, Kevin Wallace of Apopka, FL, and Matt Wallace of Eustis, FL; his three daughters, Debbie Burnham of Sorrento, FL, Judy Mikell of Eustis, FL and Jeannie Petty of Eustis, FL; his sister, Opal Shivers of Umatilla, FL; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Laura Grace Saunders, NEE Bowman, 40, of Orlando, Florida died Wednesday, January 12, 2005. She was born on August 14, 1964 in New York, New York. She moved to Central Florida from Rock Island, Illinois in 1977, graduated from Apopka High School and attended Seminole Community College. Laura was the former secretary/receptionist for 16 years for Grover Bryan Realty, currently known as LaSalle Partners Realty of Orlando. Laura was an active member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Orlando, where she was a devoted member of the church choir. She, also, enjoyed cooking. Laura was married to her husband James on April 12, 1991. She is survived by her husband, James of Orlando, FL; parents, Father Richard and Charlotte Bowman of Apopka, FL; and sister, Anne Bowman of Apopka, FL. Visitation for Laura will be from 7:00 – 9:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2005 at the St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Columbarium, Orlando, FL. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, Orlando, FL with Rev. Roger J. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora, FL.

Martin Guenter Huebner, 90 of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Florida Hospital-Waterman in Tavares, FL. He was born in East Germany and served as an officer in the German Army in WWII. He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis. He is survived by his wife Theresia Huebner of Mount Dora, FL; his brother, Herbert Huebner of Germany; his sisters Ruth Billen and Katerina Doene of Germany.

Norma G. Christopher
Norma G. Christopher, 83, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2005. She was born to the late E. Donald Gardner and Pauline (Powell) Gardner on September 30, 1921 in Tavares, Florida. She attended Stetson University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in history. Prior to her marriage to Roy Christopher in 1950, she was employed by the Lake County Tax Assessors office. Mrs. Christopher was a member of Pi Beta Phi and a past member of the Mount Dora Yacht Club for many years and the Mount Dora Garden Club. For more than 50 years she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora. She was an avid gardener and devoted much of her time assisting with church activities. In 1989 she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Christopher, a local attorney and long time civic leader. She is survived by her sons, Donald E. Christopher of Maitland, FL, James E. Christopher of Longwood, FL and four grand children. A Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Mount Dora, FL. at 4:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2005 with Reverend Gary Upleger officiating.

Elizabeth P. VanVoorhis
Elizabeth P. VanVoorhis, 89, of Mount Dora, FL died Monday January 3, 2005. She was born on April 25, 1915 in Cleveland, OH and moved to Mount Dora in 1944 from Lakewood, OH. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Dora. Mrs. VanVoorhis was the former Executive Secretary of the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce for 20 years. She was a former member of the Mount Dora Golf Association and the Pink Ladies Auxiliary for Florida Hospital Waterman. She is survived by two daughters,; Barbara S. McCollough of Brandon, FL and Carol S. Clayton of Mount Dora, FL; one brother, John D. Pease, Jr. of Mount Dora, FL; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Calling hours for Mrs. Vanvoorhis will be from 10-11AM on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora, FL. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11AM with Rev. Leo Lacy officiating. Burial will be in Pine Forest Cemetery, Mount Dora, FL. Nat G. Trocino
Nat G. Trocino, 71, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2005. He was born to the late Angelo Trocino and Carmela (Leo) Trocino on March 7, 1933 in Oelwein, Iowa. In 1954 he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy, from the University of Iowa. Nat was a Registered Pharmacist in both Iowa and Indiana. He was drafted into the U.S. army in 1955. Nat proudly served his country until 1957, and remained in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1963. On June 26, 1957 he married Louise A. Modolo in Gary, IN. In 1962 he became the Portage City, Indiana Status Committee Chairman. In 1973 Nat was selected to serve two 4 year terms as a member of the City of Portage Fire Commission; and in 1982 he was selected to serve on the National Committee for Generic Pharmaceuticals. From 1962 until 1966 he owned and operated the first retail Pharmacy in Portage. Nat also owned and operated Portage’s J-Mar Pharmacy in 1970. He was a longtime member of the Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church. In August of 1995 he and his wife moved to Mount Dora, FL. There he became a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Louise Trocino of Mount Dora, FL; his daughter Linda Trocino of Eustis, FL; his four sons, Mark Trocino of Dearborn, MI, Michael Trocino of Austin, TX, Chuck Trocino of Atlanta, GA and Craig Trocino of Key Biscayne, FL; his two brothers, Joseph Trocino of Los Angeles, CA and Frank Trocino of Vancouver, WA; his one sister, Betty Steffen of Kansas City, MO, and four grandchildren. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Nat’s name to the Hospice of Lake and Sumter Co., Inc., 12300 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778. Funeral mass will begin at 10:30 A.M. on Friday January 7, 2005 at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora, with Father Rod Soha as celebrant. Following the service, the family will be receiving friends and relatives at the Country Club of Mount Dora Community Center.

Jessie Oliver Sehlinger
Jessie Oliver Sehlinger, 92, died on January 1, 2005, in Mount Dora, Florida. Born in Rutherford, NJ, she moved in 1928 to Louisville. There she graduated from Girls’ High School and worked as an executive secretary for Brown and Williamson. In 1938 she married P. Joseph Sehlinger and they had two sons. Jessie was president of the Parent Teachers’ Association at Highland Junior High School and for nine years secretary at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church where she was an active member. Jessie and her husband moved to Mount Dora in 1979, where they belonged to St. Edward’s Episcopal Church and the Mount Dora Golf Club. Since 1991 she was a resident of Waterman Village retirement community, where for several years she was in charge of the library. Son Charles E. died in 1964 and her husband in 1995. She is survived by her son Peter J. Jr., and daughter-in-law Sabine of Indianapolis, IN, and by six nephews and nieces in Kentucky and Indiana. Funeral service will be held at St. Edward’s Episcopal Church of Mount Dora at 10:00 A.M. on January, 6, 2005, with interment this summer at Resthaven cemetery in Louisville. Memorial donations may be given to the Hospice Foundation of Lake & Sumter, 12300 Lake Park Road, Tavares, Florida 32778.

Therese Mary Warburton
Therese Mary Warburton, 78, of Sorrento, FL, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 1, 2005. She was born to the late Royal Champagne and Frances (Morris) Champagne on October 6, 1927 in Ilion, N.Y. She lived in Spencerport, N.Y. for 36 years where she was a parishioner of the St. Johns Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion Post #330. Therese retired from the Spencerport school system in 1980. In 1999, she moved to Sorrento, FL with her family. She became a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Mount Dora, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles D. Warburton in 1999. She is survived by her four sons, Edward Warburton, of Pownal, VT, Ronald Warburton, John Warburton, and Mark Warburton, each of Sorrento, FL; her four daughters, Marty Yokawonis and Michelle Strassner both of Sorrento, FL, Paula Lavender of Brockport, N.Y. and Frances Kaminska of Daytona, FL; her brother Edward Champagne of Cederville, N.Y.; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family is inviting all who wish to join them in a celebration of Therese’s life at her home from 4 to 7 P.M. on Saturday, January 8, 2005.

Ronald L. Justice, Sr., 62, of Lake Monroe, FL, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2005. He was born to the late Willis F. Justice and Virginia J. McCarter on September 21, 1942, in Logansport, Indiana. Ronald spent many years employed as a Law Enforcement Ranger. He is survived by his sons Ronald L. Justice, Jr. of Apopka, Florida, and Scott A. Justice of Goshen, Indiana; his daughter Dawn J. Gainey from Nappanee, Indiana; and eight grandchildren. Calling hours are from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mount Dora Florida. Memorial services will immediately follow at 4:00 P.M in the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Alan Holden officiating. Ottis Ray Clevinger
Ottis Ray Clevinger, 65, of Fort Pierce, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006. Ottis was born to the late Ray Walter Clevinger and Cecil Virginia Cook, in Wheeling, WV, on September 11, 1940.

He was a member of the Round Lake Christian Church, Mt. Dora, and the Christian Truckers’ Ministry.

Ottis was preceded in death by his daughter, June Ann Sprietler, and is survived by his wife, Barbara Clevinger; son, Rickey Goodman; two daughters, Lisa Gonzalez, and Christina McNulty; three brothers, Homer Clevinger, David Clevinger, and Ray Clevinger; four sisters, Eleanor Hall, Sheryl Leak, Sue Caislap, and Lynn Smith, and six grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Clevinger will be held from 5:00 -7:00 P.M., Wednesday June 28, 2006, at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Sorrento Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 29, 2006, also at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home Sorrento Chapel, with Reverend Joe Link officiating. Interment will follow at Sorrento Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ottis Clevinger’s memory to Our Turning Point Girls Ranch 19812 East Fifth Street, Umatilla, FL 32786.

Robert Thomas Wiltsie
Robert Thomas Wiltsie, 78, of Tavares, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2006, Robert was born to the late James P. Wiltsie and Cora (Phillips) Wiltsie, on April 12, 1928, in Celeron, New York.

He moved to Tavares from Jamestown, NY, in 1998. Robert was a veteran of WWII; a member of the VFW, American Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion, and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lidda (Spoto) Wiltsie; one son, Robert S. Wiltsie (Janet), of Tavares; brother, James P. Wiltsie Jr., of Kennedy, NY; and one granddaughter, Jennifer.

Funeral Services for Robert will be held on Monday, June 26, 2006, at 10:30 A.M., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, in Mt. Dora, with Father Rod Soha officiating. Burial will follow at Florida National cemetery in Bushnell.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association P.O. Box 568504 Orlando, FL 32856-8504 or the America Heart Association 237 East Marks St., Orlando, FL 32803.
