Edward Kearney, 72 Ocala

Edward Kearney, 72, Ocala, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in the Ocala area since 1988.

He was formerly of Garden City Park,, N.Y.

Mr. Kearney retired after 38 years with J.P. Morgan as a foreign loan officer.

He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Moose Lodge on State Road 200, Masonic Lodge in Fellowship, all of Ocala, and the Inverness Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Kearney of Ocala; two daughters, Deborah Ashby of Calgary, Canada, and Carol Rocke of Glenrock, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Joan Daniello of Westbury, N.Y., and Lynn Daniello of West Babylon, N.Y.; one stepson, Paul Daniello of Pendleton, Ore.; and five grandchildren.

Helen Kitchen, 84 Inverness

Helen Lucille Kitchen, 84, Inverness, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

She was born Sept. 6, 1917, in Birmingham, Ala., to Herbert and Lucille (Hill) Hewell. She came here in 1999 from Gardendale, Ala.

Mrs. Kitchen was a retired child daycare worker and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Inverness.

Survivors include one son, Raymond Kitchen of Birmingham, Ala.; two daughters, Judy Armstrong of Hayden, Ala., and Connie Gibbs of Inverness; one sister, Ann Weber of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Margaret Moschini, 60 Inverness

Margaret A. Moschini, 60, Inverness, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, in Inverness.

She was born Nov. 23, 1941, in Troy, N.Y., to Richard and Irene Plumley. She came here in 1984 from Waterford, N.Y.

She was a waitress in many restaurants in the Albany, N.Y., area and a licensed realtor for Realty USA, Latham, N.Y.

Survivors include one son, Steven Moschini of Cohoes, N.Y.; one daughter, Tina (Edward) Kear of Delmar, N.Y.; one brother, Charles (Mary Ann) Plumley of Clifton Park, N.Y.; one sister, Catherine “Kay” L. (William) LaBrecque of Waterford, N.Y.; one grandchild, Cameron Kear of Delmar, N.Y.; and dear companion, Frank Spallane of Inverness.

Wilson Olmstead, 89 Inverness

Wilson S. “Umpy” Olmstead, 89, Inverness, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Mr. Olmstead was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Delta, Ohio, to Charles and Nellie Olmstead.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Mr. Olmstead worked for Champion Spark Plugs in Toledo, Ohio, for 36 years. He and his wife co-owned Wilmar Sporting Goods in Toledo.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness, the Catholic War Vets No. 639 in Toledo, and the Point O’ Woods Country Club in Inverness.

He was a referee for the Ohio High School Athletic Association, where he was given the nickname “Umpy.”

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Olmstead of Inverness; sons, John S. Olmstead and his wife, Leanore, of Vancouver, Wash., Paul L. Olmstead of Toledo, Ohio; daughters, Diane M. Tremski and husband, James, of Palm Beach Gardens, Deborah A. Whipple and husband, David Sr., of Toledo, Ohio, Mary Beth Zielinski and husband, Gary, of Naperville, Ill., and Terry Engelsted and husband, Gordon, of Federal Way, Wash.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nicholas Orovich, 81 Crystal River

Nicholas F. Orovich, 81, Crystal River, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala.

He was born Nov. 25, 1920, in Mayville, Wis., to Lucy and Stephan Orovich and came here 14 years ago from there.

Mr. Orovich was a retired purchasing manager.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific.

He was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Crystal River and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville, Wis. He also was a member of the Mayville American Legion.

He was a director of the Mayville Golf Club and a former member of the Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Orovich of Crystal River; daughter, Barbara Orovich Ries of Eau Claire, Wis.; son, Nicholas N. Orovich of Exeter, N.H.; brother, Tom Orovich of Mayville, Wis.; two sisters, Catherine Bierman and Mary Blayer, both of Mayville, Wis.; and four grandchildren.

Helen Staszewski, 83 Beverly Hills

Helen J. Staszewski, 83, Beverly Hills, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, in Beverly Hills.

She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came here six years ago from Sebastian.

Mrs. Staszewski was a homemaker.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Beverly Hills.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Edward W. Staszewski of Beverly Hills; her son, Edward J. Staszewski of Beverly Hills; and many nephews and nieces.

Lois Harbour, 90 Lecanto

Lois Marie Harbour, 90, Lecanto, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in Citrus Memorial Hospital of Inverness.

She was born Jan. 31, 1912, in Milton, W.Va., to Shelby and Mary Ellen Reynolds, and came to Florida 17 years ago from there.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Milton.

Survivors include one son, Michael L. Harbour and wife, Valerie, of Inverness; one brother, Everett Reynolds of Ripley, W.Va.; three sisters, Lola Clendenen of Orlando, Thelma Yates of Dunedin and Elsie Clendenen of Cross Lanes, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Brent Harbour and wife, Kathryn, of Thomasville, Ga., and Stephanie Marshall and husband, Keith, of Beufort, S.C.; and five great-grandchildren, Chase, Chance, Bailey, Rylan and Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry B. Harbour, and her daughter, Norma Jean.

TJ Koment, 16 Gainesboro, Tenn. TJ Michael Koment, 16, Gainesboro, Tenn., died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, in Gainesboro, Tenn.

He was born July 31, 1985, in Inverness and moved to Gainesboro, Tenn., eight years ago.

He was a high school student and former football player for the school and he loved playing basketball with his friends. He attended Bible Baptist Church in Crystal River.

Surviving are his parent, Maryann and Lanney Kostal Jr. of Crystal River; his father, Michael Roddenberry of Crystal River; maternal grandparent, Robert Koment Sr. of Gainesboro, Tenn.; maternal great-grandparents, John and Mary Koment of New Jersey; paternal grandmother, Christina Roddenberry of Crystal River; paternal stepgrandparents, Kenneth and Freida Saffer of Crystal River and Lanney Sr. and Crystal Kostal of Indianapolis, Ind.; paternal stepgreat-grandparents, Aletha Kostal of Ashley, Mich., and Ruth Horne of South Mont, N.C.; one brother, Michael Ray Roddenberry Jr. of Crystal River; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Joseph Levinsky, 88 Beverly Hills

Joseph Levinsky, 88, Beverly Hills, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, in Beverly Hills.

He was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and came here 23 years ago from Bohemia, N.Y.

Mr. Levinsky was a retired mechanic for the U.S. Department of Defense.

He was a former member of the Polish American Club of Beverly Hills, volunteer with Surveillance Unit in association with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Bohemia, Long Island, N.Y.

He was Christian.

Mr. Levinsky was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Levinsky, in 1996.

He is survived by his daughter, Bettyann Maloney of Basking Ridge, N.J.; three grandsons, William Levinsky and Michael Levinsky, both of Hoboken, N.J., and Jeffrey Levinsky of Basking Ridge, N.J.; one niece, Maryann Chin of San Jose, Calif.; and two nephews, John Cadak of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Richard Mucha of Guilford, Conn.

Michael Potulsky, 49 Homosassa

Michael J. Potulsky, 49, Homosassa, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. He was born March 19, 1952, in Cadillac, Mich., to Gertrude Dorothy and Leonard Potulsky. He came here from Mt. Vernon, Ill., 23 years ago.

Mr. Potulsky was an automotive mechanic.

He was Catholic.

Survivors include wife, Betty (Stalvey) Potulsky of Homosassa; six children, Dennis Potulsky of Crystal River, Shawn Potulsky of Homosassa, Wesley Stalvey of St.

Petersburg, Sherry Potulsky of Inverness, Nichole Potulsky of Illinois and Angie of Tennessee; a brother, Dennis “Denny” Potulsky of Michigan; and a grandson, Justin.

The family will hold a family holiday and a gathering for friends at 2 p.m. Saturday at the home of Dennis Potulsky, 295 N. Dunkenfield Ave., Crystal River.
