Dolores “Dee” (Syx) Nuniviller died suddenly Tuesday, July 9, 2002, at Mount Carmel Medical Center. She is formerly of Homosassa Springs.

Survivors include her daughter, Kaye Syx-Ramsey (Richard); grandson, Cody Syx-Ramsey; sister, Eleanore Turner; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Timothy Rockentine, 56 Lecanto

Timothy A. Rockentine, 56, Lecanto, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in St. Petersburg.

He was born Oct. 30, 1945, in Detroit, Mich., to Albert C. and Wanda L. (Hancock) Rockentine. He came here from Vassar, Mich., in 1976.

Mr. Rockentine was a former assembler for manufacturing, employed with Key Training Center in Lecanto since 1989.

He was a member of Latter Day Saints Church of Lecanto and attended First Baptist Church in Inverness.

He was an avid race car fan and antique car enthusiast, loved fishing and loved his friends and family at Key Training Center.

He is survived by his brother, Theodore A. Rockentine of Floral City; and sister, Kathy Wade of Inverness.

Lorania Story, 85 Lecanto

Lorania C. Story, 85, Lecanto, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

Born Feb. 10, 1917, in Shelby, Mich., to Willard and Fern (Bennett) Frick, she came here six years ago from Hart, Mich.

Mrs. Story was a homemaker. She was Protestant.

Survivors include her daughter, Alice Green of Lecanto; two sons, Willard T. Story of Gladwin, Mich., and James M. Story of Saline, Mich.; one brother, Richard Dale Frick of Muskegon, Mich.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Martha Weeks, 65 Hernando

Martha Ray Weeks, 65, Hernando, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.

Born June 29, 1937, in Bonita Springs to the late Coleman and Fonzie (Johnson) Weeks, she came here 12 years ago from Fort Myers.

She had a love for her family and their children and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Johnson of Hernando; two brothers, Coleman E. Weeks of Hernando and Clyde E. Weeks of Naples; and several nieces and nephews.

Angela Wood, 38 Dunnellon

Angela R. Wood, 38, Dunnellon, died Sunday, July 7, 2002, in Gainesville.

Born in Homburg, Germany, she came here in 1989 from West Palm Beach.

Mrs. Wood was a bookkeeper with eight years of service with Home Depot and eight years with Toys-R-Us.

Surviving are her husband, Michael Wood of Dunnellon; son, Andrew Wood of Dunnellon; daughter, Michelle Wood of Dunnellon; mother, Ruth Herz of Homburg, Germany; and seven brothers, Gunter Herz, Gregor Herz, Reimund Herz, Anton Herz, Bruno Herz, Jurgen Herz and Dieter Herz, all of Homburg, Germany.

Andrew Borowycz, 81 Crystal River

Andrew Borowycz, 81, Crystal River, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.

Born Dec. 9, 1920, in Ternopyl, Ukraine, to Stephan and Anna (Babich) Borowycz, he came to this area eight years ago from Chicago, Ill.

He was a retired tool and die maker in Chicago.

He was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edyta Borowycz.

Survivors include one son, Steven Borowycz of Drakesville, Iowa; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Ernest Giannico, 76 Beverly Hills

Ernest W. Giannico, 76, Beverly Hills, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, in Hernando.

Born Nov. 30, 1925, in Elizabeth, N.J., to Joseph V. and Rose (Lospinoso) Giannico, he came here in 1990 from there.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a sergeant with the Union County, N.J., sheriff’s office for 15 years.

He was a member of the New Jersey Club of Beverly Hills.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Margaret Drake Giannico of Beverly Hills; three sons, Roger (Eve) Giannico of Ceyreste, France, Donald (Diane) Giannico of Barnegat, N.J., and John (Rita) Giannico of Spotsylvania, Va.; one daughter, Joan (Gary) Vitale of Elizabeth, N.J.; two brothers, Joseph (May) Giannico of Port Orange, N.J., and Atillio “Bill” (Gloria) Giannico of Holmdel, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

Iva Mae Means, 91, Inverness, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Mariner Health of Inverness.

Born Nov. 17, 1910, in Blue Mountain, Miss., to James and Mary (Callicutt) Godwin, she came here 15 years ago from Canton, Miss.

Mrs. Means was a retired women’s clothing sales clerk.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Inverness.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, William Earl Means, on May 1, 1971; and five sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Eldridge and her husband, Willie, of Inverness; three grandsons, Brady Eldridge and wife, Marie, of Umatilla, Brandel Eldridge and wife, Becky, of Inverness and Brett Eldridge and wife, Cheryl, of Inverness; three great-grandchildren, Bryan, Brittany and Brianna; and many nieces and nephews.

Salome Montelon, 65 Sugarmill Woods

Salome L. Montelon, 65, Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Ocala.

Born Oct. 22, 1936, in Havana, Cuba, to Mario and Victoria (Lopez) Montelon, he came here eight years ago from Queens, N.Y.

He retired as supervisor for City of New York Housing Preservation Department and as assistant engineer with the U.S. Merchant Marines.

He was Catholic.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Sonia (Reyes) Montelon of Sugarmill Woods; one son, Jeomar Montelon of Homosassa; one daughter, Theresa Krueger of Illinois; three brothers; and three sisters.

Watt Wilburn, 90 Crystal River

Watt J. Wilburn, 90, Crystal River, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at home under the care of his friends and Hospice of Citrus County.

Born July 30, 1911, in Sikeston, Mo., to Benjamin Franklin Wilburn and Mamie Ellen (Turner) Wilburn, he came to this area 30 years ago from Ypsilanti, Mich.

He retired in the early 1970s from General Motors Auto Manufacturing Plant in Plymouth, Mich., after many years as a machine repairman.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and past member of Oddfellows Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marietta Wilburn, in 1986.

Survivors include his companion, Evelyn Slate of Crystal River; son, Norman J. Wilburn of Boonville, Mo.; daughters, Dorothy Slough of Alton, Ill., and Doris Richards of Roxana, Ill.; brother, Bun Wilburn of Michigan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; caregivers, Violet Faulkenberg and Lillian Buchanan, both of Crystal River; and close friends, Betty and Tommy Wise of Crystal River.

Leo ‘Lee’ Fidler, 89 Homosassa

Leo “Lee” Fidler, 89, Homosassa, died Friday, July 26, 2002, in Crystal River.

She was born April 24, 1913, in Gauley Mills, W.Va., to Porter Lamb and Mary Kayer. She moved to the area 24 years ago from Charleston, W.Va.

She was a high school teacher and was a charter member and past secretary of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 319, member of the Crystal River Women’s Club.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Homosassa and was past president of United Methodist Women and a former Sunday school teacher.

She was also the first woman in West Virginia to receive a masters degree in math.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Fidler II; son, Frank Fidler III; and sisters, Mavel Fordyce and Alice J. Barnette.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Rodetsky of Fairmont, W.Va.; three grandsons, David Sullivan of Homosassa and Chris Sullivan and Frank H. Fidler IV, both of Colorado; two stepgrandchildren, Shandra Waddell and Travis Waddell; and three great-grandchildren.
