William Clark Sr., 81 Crystal River

William R. Clark Sr., 81, Crystal River, formerly of Tampa, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003.

Mr. Clark was a retired from Seaboard Railroad. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the battleship Alabama in the Pacific Theater seeing much action.

He was a member of American Legion Post 155 in Crystal River and Veterans of Foreign Wars having many friends.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Ve Clark of Crystal River; one son, William R. Clark Jr. and wife, Pam, of Sommerset, Ky.; two daughters, Vivian Hall and husband, Wayne, and Cheryl Knight, both of Ocala; one sister, Elsie Mae Pastor of Tampa; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Strickland Funeral Home, Crystal River.

Lodi May Donahue, 87 Beverly Hills

Lodi May Donahue, 87, Beverly Hills, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in Ocala.

She was born Sept. 29, 1915, in Des Moines, N.M., to Andrew A. and Lodi (Robinson) Jackson, and came to this area in 1985 from Catoosa, Okla.

She was a clerk with South Western Bell Telephone Company for 31 years, retiring in 1978; also owner of Lodi May’s Fashions in Beverly Hills.

She was Catholic and attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Donahue, on May 1, 1970.

She is survived by many cousins. Hooper Funeral Home, Beverly Hills.

Troy Dukeman, 75 Chassahowitzka

Troy E. Dukeman, 75, Chassahowitzka, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in Homosassa.

He was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Atwood, Ill., the son of the late Samuel R. and Grace (Clodfelter) Dukeman.

He came to this area in 1990 from Rantoul, Ill.

Mr. Dukeman worked in maintenance control for Chanute Air Force Base for 35 years retiring in 1983.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a member of American Legion Post 287 of Rantoul, Ill., Rantoul Masonic Lodge AF&AM No. 470, Danville Consistory Scottish Rite of Danville, Ill., and Moose Lodge 1496 of Rantoul, Ill.

He was Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dukeman. Survivors include his companion of 18 years, Shirley A. Head, of Chassahowitzka; son, Terry E. Dukeman of Chassahowitzka; daughter, Sandra L. Brutcher of Rantoul, Ill.; brother, Samuel R. Dukeman Jr. of Englewood, Ill.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Home, Homosassa.

Geraldine Heck, 57 Inverness

Geraldine Z. Heck, 57, Inverness, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born May 10, 1945, in Atmore, Ala., to Billy G. and Gertrude (Simpson) Zepernick, and came to this area in 2001 from Suffolk, Va.

Ms. Heck was an office manager for a law office.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Inverness.

Survivors include two sons, Brian K. Thompson of Fort Lauderdale and Eric A. Thompson of Suffolk, Va.; one daughter, Jennifer Pollitte of Lakeland; her mother, Gertrude Zepernick of Inverness; a sister, Sara V. Hart of Inverness; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hooper Funeral Home, Inverness.

George Jackzentis, 56 Inverness

George James Jackzentis, 56, Inverness, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at Tampa General Hospital.

He was born Feb. 18, 1947, in of Brooklyn, N.Y., to George and Elsie Jackzentis.

He moved to Florida in 1986 from Lindenhurst, Long Island, N.Y.

Mr. Jackzentis was a retired police officer with the New York Police Department with 15 years of service, and served in the U.S. Navy.

Surviving are two sons, Matthew Jackzentis and George Jackzentis, both of Crystal River; and a sister, Carol Urban of Inverness. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.

Ruby Noble, 96 Morriston

Ruby Mae Noble, 96, Morriston, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, in Morriston.

Born in Romeo, she was a lifelong resident.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Morriston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Noble, and one grandchild.

Survivors include her son, Freddie Noble of Morriston; her daughter, Norma N. Brett of Morriston; three grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Roberts Funeral Home, Dunnellon.

Armand Scalzi, 65 Crystal River

Armand Phillip Scalzi, 65, Crystal River, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.

Born in Bronx, N.Y., to George and Lolita Scalzi, he came here in 1979 from Vineland, N.J.

Mr. Scalzi retired from the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant with more than 20 years of service.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Spate, and several brothers and sisters including Jackie, Anthony, Dennis, Mark, Patricia and Carmellina.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Barbara A. Scalzi; three sons, Patrick Scalzi of Woodbridge, Va., Phillip Scalzi of Yorklyn, Del., and Robert Curts of Crystal River; one daughter, Barbara Hahn of Burlington, N.J.; three brothers, George and Timothy, both of Homosassa and John of Vineland, N.J.; two sisters, Monica Denney and Michelle Crosley, both of Homosassa; and seven grandchildren. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.

Donald ‘Don’ Smith, 79 Beverly Hills

Donald Robert “Don” Smith, 79, Beverly Hills, died Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Born Aug. 3, 1923, he came here more than 20 years ago from his native Ironton, Ohio.

Mr. Smith was a retired engineer in the firebrick manufacturing industry.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Homosassa Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Burnice C. “Kathy” Smith; son, Jeff Smith of Lakewood, Ohio; daughter, Teresa Ludwig of Minneapolis, Minn.; stepson, James Wheatley of Hernando; and two sisters, Barbara of Chiefland and Margie of Ironton, Ohio. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.

John Brautigam, 63 Crystal River

John F. Brautigam, 63, Crystal River, died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

He was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Red Bank, Monmouth, N.J., to Henry and Hedwig Brautigam.

He moved here from St. Petersburg eight years ago.

Mr. Brautigam was a retired customer service technician for IBM and Kodak.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was Methodist.

Surviving are one son, Henry W. Brautigam of St. Petersburg; two daughters, Kathe Jones of Port St. Joe and Nancy Campbell of St. Petersburg; one sister, Lillie Flyland of New Jersey; and four grandchildren.
