Fred Roger Toney

OLD TOWN - Fred Roger Toney of Old Town died Sunday at the Veterans Affairs Nursing Home in Lake City. He was 88.

Mr. Toney was born in Spartanburg, S.C., and moved from Spartanburg to Old Town over 50 years ago.

He was a retired store owner and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Toney was a Shriner and a member of both the Joppa Masonic Lodge No. 4 and the Church of Jesus Christ.

Survivors include his caregiver, Melba Delaney of Old Town; five sons, Donald Toney, Robert Toney, William Toney and David Toney, all of Charlotte, N.C., and Bob Simral of Raleigh; two daughters, Jaenelle Travis of Charlotte and Patricia Sykes of Jupiter; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Kenneth Calvin Gallion Jr.

WILLISTON - Kenneth Calvin Gallion Jr. of Williston died unexpectedly Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 48.

Mr. Gallion was a farrier. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was born in Chelsea, Mass., and moved from Springfield, Mass., to Williston 10 years ago.

Mr. Gallion was a member of the American Farriers Association and was secretary for the Florida State Farriers Association.

Survivors include his wife, LaRhesa McLean Gallion of Williston; a son, Kenneth Hollis Gallion of Williston; his mother, Florence Pereira of Mashpee, Mass.; a sister, Patricia Keleher of East Falmouth, Mass.; and two brothers, Gary Gallion and Kevin Gallion, both of East Falmouth.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the American Heart Association.

Andrew Joseph Hornyak

WILLISTON - Andrew Joseph Hornyak of Williston died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. He was 60.

Mr. Hornyak was employed at Dan's Auto Body in Williston.

He moved from Miami to Williston 14 years ago.

There are no known relatives.

Archie M. Jellen

MELROSE - Archie M. Jellen of Melrose died Wednesday in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 94.

Mr. Jellen formerly ran the Highlands Gem Shop in Highlands, N.C.

He was born in Providence, R.I., and moved from Miami to Melrose 26 years ago. He also spent half of each year in Highlands.

Mr. Jellen was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and the Oak Grove Masonic Lodge F&AM; in Alameda, Calif.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel S. Jellen of Melrose; two sisters, Virginia Kennedy of Sonoma, Calif., and Eleanor McColgan of Belmont; and two grandsons.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Eliam cemetery Association in Melrose or to the Highlands cemetery Association in Highlands.

Elvie Elizabeth Rigdon

HAMPTON - Elvie Elizabeth Rigdon of Hampton died Thursday at her home. She was 92.

Mrs. Rigdon was a homemaker and a member of the Hampton Baptist Church.

She was a lifelong resident of Hampton.

Mrs. Rigdon was preceded in death by her husband, Colsie Rigdon.

Survivors include three brothers, Lester Slade of Hampton, Avory Slade of Fairbanks and Truby Slade of Starke; and three sisters, Eva Allen of Palatka, Martha Hendry of Jacksonville and Alla Mae Schuppert of Palm Harbor.

Lawton P. Santerfeit

WILLISTON - Lawton P. Santerfeit of Williston died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. He was 63.

Mr. Santerfeit was formerly employed by Williston Gas and Electric, Levy County Housing Authority, the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission and General Electric in Gainesville. He also retired as an aircraft mechanic from the U.S. Navy.

He was a lifelong resident of Williston and a member of the First Baptist Church of Williston.

Survivors include a son, Byrel Santerfeit of Frederick, Md.; two daughters, Kimberly Parker of Williston and Tina Santerfeit of Lantana; and three grandchildren.

Jimmy T. Stewart Sr.

ORANGE SPRINGS - Jimmy T. Stewart Sr. of Orange Springs died Wednesday at Shands at AGH in Gainesville due to complications following surgery. He was 67.

Mr. Stewart was a welder and a Baptist.

He was born in High Point, N.C., and moved from Hillsborough County to Orange Springs 10 years ago.

Survivors include four sons, Jimmy T. Stewart Jr. of Kings Bay, Ga., Stephen E. Stewart of Winter Haven, Jerry L. Stewart of Wimauma and James N. Stewart of Riverview; and two grandsons.

Frederick J. Wellington

CLEARWATER - Frederick J. Wellington of Clearwater died Monday in Gainesville at his daughter's home. He was 87.

Mr. Wellington retired as executive vice president of Panama Refinery Inc. He formerly worked for Exxon in Colombia, South America.

He was born in Corunna, Ontario, Canada, moved to Clearwater 20 years ago and lived at his daughter's home in Gainesville off and on over the last few years.

Mr. Wellington was a member of the United Church of Canada.

Survivors include three daughters, Ann Alexander and Jane Lawyer, both of Gainesville, and Lynne Frauenheim of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Bob Wellington of Vancouver, British Columbia, Don Wellington of Asheboro, N.C., and Rick Wellington of Timmons, Ontario, Canada; his companion, Mary Urey of Dothan, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Fred J. Wellington Foundation for Child Development C/O the Morris Center in Gainesville.

Hattie Emma Annis

LIVE OAK - Hattie Emma Annis of Live Oak died Saturday at Shands at Live Oak after a long illness. She was 90.

Mrs. Annis was a homemaker and a volunteer.

She was born in Warner, N.H., and moved to Live Oak seven years ago.

Mrs. Annis was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Dowling Park.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Bean of Belmont, N.H., and Arline Boivin of Lake Havasu,cq Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Brown of Dowling Park and Mildred Bennett of Cherokee Village, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ruth B. Christman

WILLISTON - Ruth B. Christmancq of Williston died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 88.

Mrs. Christman was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was born in Kissimmee and moved from Miami to Williston two years ago.

Survivors include a son, Fred W. Christman Jr. of Williston; a daughter, Wanda Green of Kirksville, Mo.; a sister, Minnie B. Davis of Frostproof; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Lula Mae H. Coleman

TRENTON - Lula Mae H. Coleman of Trenton died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 93.

Mrs. Coleman was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was born in Wayne County, Ga., and moved from Lakeland to Trenton five years ago.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her husband, John Coleman; two sons, John Coleman Jr. and Hubert Coleman; and a daughter, Juanita Stormant.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Cason of Trenton; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great- grandchildren.
