Evelyn Washington

HAWTHORNE - Evelyn Washington of Hawthorne died Sunday at her home after a brief illness. She was 81.

Mrs. Washington was a retired homemaker.

Born in Moncks Corner, S.C., she moved from Philadelphia to Hawthorne six years ago.

She was a member of Zion Hill Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hawthorne.

Survivors include a brother, Frank Palmer of Moncks Corner; four sisters, Sadie Akins of Hawthorne, and Mae Brown, Francenia Sturgis and Martha Daniel, all of Philadelphia.

William Washington

William "Wash" Washington of Gainesville died Sunday at North Florida Specialty Care Center after a long illness. He was 80.

Mr. Washington was a retired employee at the University of Florida's Reitz Union. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in La Crosse, he moved to Gainesville 53 years ago.

Mr. Washington was a member of the Jesus Christ Nazareth Worship and Praise Temple and the American Legion No. 306.

Survivors include a sister, Victoria Jones of Gainesville; and a brother, Isaiah Washington Sr. of Gainesville.

Irvin Alzora Welch

Irvin Alzora "Bubba" Welch of Gainesville died Sunday at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center after a long illness. He was 86.

Mr. Welch was a driver. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in Alachua, he moved from Louisville, Ky., to Gainesville two years ago.

He was a member of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Welch was preceded in death by his wife, Edna G. Welch.

Survivors include a niece, Beverly McCloud of Gainesville.

Alice Watkins Weseman

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - Alice Watkins Weseman of Keystone Heights died Wednesday at her home. She was 92.

Mrs. Weseman was a homemaker.

Born in Putnam Hall, she moved from Titusville to Keystone Heights 18 years ago.

She was a member of Paran Baptist Church, the Woman's Golf Association, the Keystone Heights Golf and Country Club and the Royal Oaks Golf and Country Club in Titusville. She was a former member of Gainesville Golf and Country Club and the PEO.

Mrs. Weseman was preceded in death by her husband, G. Warner Weseman; and a son, William D. Weseman.

Survivors include a son, Warner W. Weseman of Gainesville; a brother, J. Carson Watkins of Palatka; two sisters, Edna Alderman of Grandin and Ruth Lee of Palatka; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Paran Baptist Church.

Linsey E. Coulter

WILLISTON - Linsey E. Coulter of Williston died Monday in Ocala. He was 82.

Mr. Coulter was a nursery worker.

Born in Blichton, he moved from Bradenton to Williston 14 years ago.

He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Elizabeth Barber of Morriston; and several nieces and nephews.

Henry Crossno

LIVE OAK - Henry Crossno of Live Oak died Monday at his home after a long illness. He was 81.

Mr. Crossno was a farmer.

Born in Paragould, Ark., he moved from Immokalee to Live Oak last year.

He was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Crossno of Live Oak; a daughter, Sharon Condy of Live Oak; five sons, Garry Crossno of Immokalee, Arlin Crossno of Felda, Roger Crossno of Tipton, Ky., Steven Crossno of Upton, Ky., and Arnold Crossno of Live Oak; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Walter J. Mazur

WILLISTON - Walter J. Mazur of Williston died Monday at his home. He was 46.

Mr. Mazur was retired from the U.S. Army.

Born in Levittown, Pa., he moved from Bristol, Pa., to Williston five years ago.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Mr. Mazur chaperoned many trips for Williston High School and enjoyed golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Congetta Mazur of Williston; three daughters, Melissa Ann Mazur, Congetta Marie Mazur and Rosetta Marie Mazur, all of Williston; his father, John Mazur of Hollywood; two brothers, John Mazur of Hollywood and George Ayers of Sewell, N.J.; two sisters, Enrica Dewberry of Davie and Violet Mezzapella of New York City.

Ralph E. McDavid

MELROSE - Ralph E. McDavid of Melrose died Tuesday at North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center in Gainesville. He was 86.

Mr. McDavid was a retired painting contractor.

Born in Alachua County, he lived in Jacksonville for 30 years before moving back to Alachua County 25 years ago. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Bertie Crews McDavid of Melrose; a daughter, Doris Buckley of Melrose; a son, Harold W. "Mac" McDavid of Melrose; a brother, J.D. "DePass" McDavid of Hernando; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Aristides M. Rojas

Aristides M. Rojas of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 79.

Mr. Rojas was a shoemaker.

Born in Placetas, Cuba, he moved from Miami to Gainesville 11 years ago.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eira C. Rojas of Gainesville; a son, Jorge Rojas of Gainesville; two sisters, Isabel Oliver of Burbank, Calif., and Eva Fumero of Panorama City, Calif.; and one grandson.

Everett Robert Wilding

Everett Robert Wilding of Gainesville died Sunday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 69.

Mr. Wilding owned Studio 29 Interior Design Studio in Gainesville. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Born in Pawtucket, R.I., he moved from Miami to Gainesville 20 years ago.

He was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church and Florida Soaring Society.

Survivors include his wife, Lea Clark Wilding of Gainesville; and a daughter, Cathy Wilding-Lewis of Gainesville.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Hospice or to ALS Research.
