James S. Hill Sr.
James S. Hill Sr. of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died Wednesday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 58.
Mr. Hill was a retired banking auditor.
Born in Walterboro, S.C., he moved from Charleston, S.C., to Mount Pleasant 28 years ago.
He enjoyed boating, fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include a son, James S. Hill of Gainesville; a daughter, Dawn B. Van Alphen of Chicago; two sisters, Ray Frank of Wadmalaw Island, S.C., and May Goodwin of Walterboro; and one grandson.
Wanda Josephs
NEWBERRY - Wanda Josephs of Newberry died Tuesday at Ayers Health and Rehab Center in Trenton. She was 92.
Miss Josephs was a housekeeper.
Born in Ohio, she moved from Fort Lauderdale to Newberry eight years ago.
Miss Josephs was a Catholic.
Survivors include a niece, Victoria Grudowski of Newberry; and two nephews, including James Grudowski of DeBary.
Mary Irene McCarthy
Mary Irene McCarthy of Gainesville died Thursday at Palm Garden of Gainesville. She was 81.
Mrs. McCarthy was a retired administrative assistant in continuing education at the University of Florida. She was a pastry chef several years ago and she was an antique collector and dealer.
Born in Nevada, Iowa, she moved from Bowling Green, Ohio, to Gainesville 24 years ago.
She was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McCarthy.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Scarbrough of Piqua, Ohio, and Barbara McCarthy of Gainesville; a son, Michael McCarthy of Davis, Calif.; a brother, Robert Hansen of Dysart, Iowa; and five grandchildren.
Dominick Parcelluzzi
Dominick Parcelluzzi of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at AGH. He was 80.
Mr. Parcelluzzi was a retired school crossing guard. He also worked for the Department of Transportation and the Department of Corrections, both in Florida. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was born in Long Island, N.Y., and moved from New York state to Gainesville 31 years ago.
Mr. Parcelluzzi was a member and usher at Lake Forest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Schaser Parcelluzzi of Gainesville; two sons, James Parcelluzzi of Niceville and Richard Parcelluzzi of California; a daughter, Sandra Wilson of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Mary Lafaro of Deerfield Beach; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
Wilmer Paul Renfroe
BRANFORD - Wilmer Paul Renfroe of Branford died Wednesday at Shands at the University of Florida. He was 85.
Mr. Renfroe was an automobile salesman.
Born in Providence, he moved from Jacksonville to Branford 12 years ago.
Mr. Renfroe was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Edna O. Renfroe of Branford; a son, Buddy Renfroe of Gainesville; a daughter, Mona Lee Grinstead of Branford; a brother, James Renfroe of Callahan; four sisters, Eletha Malphurs of Alachua, Ella Mae Willis of Jacksonville, Dorothy Faye Clyatt of Providence and Loca McDavid of Gainesville; six grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.
Lucille Dykes Rucker
HIGH SPRINGS - Lucille Dykes Rucker of High Springs died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 79.
Mrs. Rucker was a cosmetologist. Born in Ellenton, she moved from Bradenton to High Springs 20 years ago.
Survivors include a son, Spencer K. Young of Homosassa; a daughter, Jodi McManamy of High Springs; a brother, Joe Dykes of DeLand; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Corene Aycox
Corene Aycox of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at AGH after a long illness. She was 77.
Mrs. Aycox was a retired group-home operator for HRS, now the Department of Children and Families. She also worked at a day care in Alachua County.
Born in Quincy, she moved from Hampton to Gainesville 28 years ago.
Mrs. Aycox was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Aycox; and a son, Rogers Aycox.
Survivors include three daughters, Areatha Aycox and Essie Jones, both of Gainesville, and Tempie Daniels of Miami; three sons, Robert Aycox and Ronell Aycox, both of Gainesville, and Richard Aycox of Fort Lauderdale; a stepson, David Allen of Jacksonville; two sisters, Denora Woodard of Bellevue, Neb., and Nancy Johnson of Yulee; her stepmother, Elacie Gainey of Yulee; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
James Bell
WILLISTON - James Bell of Williston died March 18 from injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was 53.
Mr. Bell was a cement finisher.
Born in Trenton, he moved from Trenton to Williston 25 years ago.
He graduated from Trenton High School.
Mr. Bell enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Bell of Williston; two daughters, Kenyetta Bell of Williston and Creshell Jones of Chiefland; two sons, Kenneth Bostic of Raleigh and Darrick Coleman of Springfield, Mass.; his mother, Mattie Lucas of Trenton; his father, James Bell Sr. of Fort Pierce; 12 sisters, Cassandra Bell, Annette Bell, Catherine Bell, Patricia Bell and Sabrina Bell, all of Sanford, Juanita Bell, Margaret Bell, Amy Bell and Degale Bell, all of Fort Pierce, and Debra Lucas, Sandy Lucas and Thelma Jean Lucas, all of Trenton; five brothers, James Bell of Sanford, Lee Andrew Bell of Fort Pierce, Jessie Bell and Bobbie Lucas, both of Trenton, and Willie Lucas of Cross City; and eight grandchildren.
Inez Brannen Thornton Bloodsworth
LAKE CITY - Inez Brannen Thornton Bloodsworth of Lake City died Wednesday at the Crown Health Care Center in Greenville, Ala. She was 93.
Mrs. Bloodsworth was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Lake City.
Born in Union County, she lived most of her life in Columbia County before moving from Lake City to Greenville six years ago.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Mr. Waring, dk his first name David Thornton and Warren Bloods- worth.
Survivors include her caregiver, Cindy Brannon Sirmon of Pelham, Ala.; eight stepdaughters, Deloris Civils of Raiford, Evelyn Goodman, Carolyn Beasley, Melverna Addison, Mavel Crews and Wilma Carroll, all of Lake Butler, Glenda Tippins of Fort Walton Beach and Gwendolyn Williams of Cedar Key; seven stepsons, Wadeus Bloodsworth, Quentin Bloodsworth and Dewey Thornton, all of Lake Butler, Eugene Bloodsworth and Wayne Bloodsworth, both of High Springs, Sullivan Bloodsworth of Hawthorne and Clifford Bloodsworth of Sarasota; and several step- grandchildren.
Virginia M. Bostick
LARGO - Virginia M. "Elise" Bostick of Largo died Feb. 19 in Largo. She was 83.
Mrs. Bostick was a retired switchboard operator for the University of Florida.
Born in Gainesville, she moved from Gainesville to Largo 16 years ago.
Mrs. Bostick was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gainesville and Largo.
Survivors include four sons; two sisters, including Ora Stanley of Gainesville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
