Warren Lee Lewis

ORANGE SPRINGS -- Warren Lee Lewis of Orange Springs died unexpectedly Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 78.

Mr. Lewis was a retired industrial engineer for civil service. He taught drafting at Florida Junior College and also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., he moved from Jacksonville to Orange Springs 15 years ago.

He was a treasurer of the National Associated Retired Federal Employees and was a member of the Orange Springs Community Church, the Orange Springs Civic Club and the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Elaine King of Longwood and Carol Louise Lewis of Jacksonville; two sons, James Lewis of Jacksonville and Thomas Charles Lewis of Williston; and five grandchildren.

Ella Wilson Little

ARCHER -- Ella Wilson Little of Archer died Saturday at Shands at AGH in Gainesville after a long illness.

She was 83.

Mrs. Little was a homemaker.

Born in Brunswick, Ga., she moved from Brunswick to Archer 51 years ago.

She was a deaconess and mother of the church at Church of God In Christ in Archer.

Survivors include her husband, John D. Little of Archer; four daughters, Lizzie Nattiel, Hazel Lymus and Viola Fields Brown, all of Archer, and Johnie Mae Edwards of Gainesville; a son, Franklin Floyd of Brunswick; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Melvina Miller Moss

Melvina Miller Moss of Gainesville died Friday at her home after a long illness.

She was 60.

Mrs. Moss was a former clerk at Target in Gainesville.

Born in Shamrock, she moved from Williston to Gainesville 24 years ago.

She was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Annette Lindsey of Gainesville; four sons, Willie Hart, Leon Hart and Michael Moss, all of Gainesville, and Ronnie L. Hart of St. Petersburg; five brothers, Richard Miller, Percy Miller, Nathaniel Miller and Alton Miller, all of St. Petersburg, and Larry Miller of Tampa; two sisters, Geraldine Jones and Alice McCoy, both of St. Petersburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Bayne Sites

ALACHUA -- Mary Bayne Sites of Alachua died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 82.

Mrs. Sites was a retired secretary at a bank.

Born in Macon, Ga., she moved from Homosassa to Alachua five years ago.

She enjoyed golfing, tennis and swimming.

Mrs. Sites was an Episcopalian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Vincent Sites.

Survivors include a son, William Sites of Alachua; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sites of West Palm Beach; a sister, Harriet Bayne of Homosassa; and three grandchildren.

Rufino H. Small

Rufino H. Small of Gainesville died May 20 in Ellsworth County, Kansas, due to injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was 18.

Mr. Small was a private in the U.S. Army.

He was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and a 1998 graduate of Gainesville High School.

Survivors include his mother, Connie Small of Gainesville; his father, James E. Clark of Gainesville; two sisters, Tanisha L. Small and Kevina S. Roberts, both of Gainesville; a brother, Johnny L. Patterson Jr. of Gainesville; his maternal grandparents, Anna and Felix Small of Gainesville; and his paternal grandparents, Mary Williams of Gainesville and Moses McDuffin of Georgia.

Clark Roosevelt White

JACKSONVILLE -- Clark Roosevelt White of Jacksonville died Monday at Methodist Medical Center in Jacksonville after a brief illness.

He was 76.

Mr. White was a retired truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service. He also served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Born in Edgar, he moved from Jamaica Queens, N.Y., to Jacksonville 28 years ago.

He was a member of Faith Temple Ministry C.O.C.W.I.H. in Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Victoria White of Jacksonville; a daughter; two brothers, including Lloyd White of Edgar; three sisters; and three grandsons.

Earl B. Beck

Earl B. Beck of Gainesville died Wednesday at his daughter's home in Gainesville. He was 88.

Mr. Beck was a farmer.

Born in Levy County, he moved from Bronson to Gainesville five years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Earlene Arnett of Gainesville; a son, Wilford E. Beck of Macclenny; two brothers, John Smith of Bronson and Ernest Smith of Chiefland; a sister, Elizabeth Crosby of Chiefland; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Sally Murray Brooks

WILLISTON -- Sally Murray Brooks of Williston died Thursday in Stuart after a long illness. She was 66.

Mrs. Brooks was a retired graphic designer for the University of Florida College of Liberal Arts.

Born in Boynton Beach, she moved from Romeo to Williston 49 years ago.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Williston.

Mrs. Brooks enjoyed oil painting and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Leitch Brooks.

Survivors include a son, Capt. Gene Brooks of New London, Conn.; two daughters, Kathleen Brooks Ruby of Palm City and Helen Brooks of Keystone Heights; a brother, Phillip Murray of Aransas Pass, Texas; and six grandchildren.

David Branning

ARCHER -- David Branning of Archer died Monday in Williston after a long illness. He was 73.

Mr. Branning was a maintenance man at the University of Florida. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Born in Cross City, he lived most of his life in Archer.

He was a Baptist.

Mr. Branning volunteered at the Archer Community Center.

Survivors include two nieces, Candy Shaw of High Springs and Shirley Sykes of Archer; and a nephew, Bobby Shaw of High Springs.

Eunice McClellan Johnson

Eunice McClellan Johnson of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at AGH after a short illness. She was 66.

Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.

She was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and a 1951 graduate of Lincoln High School.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth McClellan of Gainesville and Reginald McClellan of Titusville; two daughters, Debra McClellan and Lynette Johnson, both of Gainesville; a brother, Richard A. McClellan of Gainesville; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
