Joseph Milner Garrett

Joseph Milner Garrett of Gainesville died Sunday at Hospice House.

He was 83.

Born in White Hall, Md., Mr. Garrett grew up on a dairy farm.

He lived in Arnold, Md., for 45 years.

He moved to Gainesville about two years ago after living in Zanesville, Ohio, for two years.

He was chief tool engineer at Koppers Co. in Baltimore for 35 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years.

Mr. Garrett was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, and traveled several times to Alaska.

He was a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Garrett, and a son, John M. Garrett.

Survivors include a brother, N. Dunnick Garrett of Freeland, Md.; a sister, Virginia Gibson of Towson, Md.; a son, Joel Garrett of Gainesville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Jerry Kenneth Lee Jr.

LIVE OAK -- Jerry Kenneth "Ken" Lee Jr. of Live Oak died Saturday from injuries caused by a car accident in Suwannee County.

He was 24.

Mr. Lee was born in Lake City and worked with his father at Jerry K. Lee Construction Co. in Live Oak. He was a member of Marybelle Baptist Church in Live Oak.

Survivors include his parents, Jerry K. and Gladys Lee Sr. of Live Oak; one brother, Tim Lee of Live Oak; and maternal grandmother, Eunice Wood of Live Oak.

Norma Eloise Runyan

WILLISTON -- Norma Eloise Runyan of Williston died Saturday in Williston following a brief illness.

She was 75.

Mrs. Runyan was born in Elkins, W.V., and moved to Williston from Elkins 11 years ago.

She was an electronics technician and a member of First Baptist Church of Williston, where she was involved in Sunday school and had a card ministry.

Survivors include one son, Fred O. Eidson Jr. of Williston; two daughters, Beverly R. Eidson and Nancy Eidson, both of Williston; one brother, Willard Chenoweth of Elkins; two sisters, Katy McQuain and Vera Chenoweth, both of Elkins; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Rosemarie Daly

Rosemarie Daly of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at AGH. She was 81.

Mrs. Daly was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Church.

Born in Pottsville, Pa., she moved from Wayne, Pa., to Florida 22 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph J. Daly of Gainesville; two sons, Joseph J. Daly Jr. of Charleston, S.C., and Kevin Daly of Gainesville; three brothers, Jack Fitzpatrick of Madison, Wis., Michael Fitzpatrick of Allentown, Pa., and Joseph Fitzpatrick of Pottsville; two sisters, Betty Jean Sullivan and Kathleen Morgan, both of Charleston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ollie Mae Harris

TRENTON -- Ollie Mae Harris of Trenton died Monday at Tri-County Nursing Home in Trenton after a long illness. She was 99.

Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of North Church of God in Chiefland.

Born in Bronson, she was a lifelong resident of the area.

She enjoyed fishing and quilting.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, William B. "Guinea Bill" Harris.

Survivors include four daughters, Timmie Doughtry of Lake City, May FlowerThornton of Micanopy, Lucille Arrington of Trenton and Jeanette Barber of Williston; 20 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

James Aloysius Hellwig

CHIEFLAND -- James Aloysius Hellwig of Chiefland died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 78.

Mr. Hellwig was a retired supervisor of environmental health and safety at the University of Florida. He also served in the U.S. Navy.

Born in De Soto, Mo., he moved from Tampa to Chiefland 38 years ago.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chiefland, American Association of Retired Persons and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Chiefland.

Mr. Hellwig taught 55 Alive Mature Driving Classes.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Kathryn Hellwig of Chiefland; two daughters, Patti Barfield of Dover and Jackie Noel of Wesley Chapel; two brothers, Raymond Hellwig of St. Louis and Frank Hellwig of Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lois Elizabeth Hillyer

LIVE OAK -- Lois Elizabeth Hillyer of Live Oak died Saturday in Live Oak.

Mrs. Hillyer was a saleswoman at department stores.

Born in Aragon, Ga., she moved from Fort Lauderdale to Live Oak 17 years ago.

She was a Methodist.

Survivors include her husband, Willis Hillyer of Live Oak; a son, William D. Bothwick of Milnor, Ga.; and a sister, Joy E. Wallace of Atlanta.

Barry Charles Jaudel

Barry Charles Jaudel of Gainesville died Friday at Dahlia Hospital at Tacachale in Gainesville after a short illness. He was 49.

Mr. Jaudel was born in Miami and moved to Gainesville 18 years ago.

He enjoyed baseball, bowling, swimming and Special Olympics.

He was a member of Kiwanis Action Club at Tacachale and of the St. Patrick-Tacachale Ministry.

Survivors include his mother, Mary T. Jaudel of Interlachen; a sister, Mary Katherine Oakley of Interlachen; and two nieces, Elizabeth Oakley and Theresa Rodgers, both of Interlachen.

Casey Young Manning

OLD TOWN -- Casey Young Manning of Old Town was found dead Saturday morning in Old Town. He was 9.

Casey was a student at Old Town Elementary School.

He was a member of Faith In the Word Assembly.

Casey enjoyed sports and swimming.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Cara and Mitch Manning of Old Town; a brother, Chad Manning of Old Town; his grandfather, Robert Blunier of Delray Beach; and his grandmother, Marilyn Blunier of Sarasota.

China Marie Manning

OLD TOWN -- China Marie Manning of Old Town was found dead Saturday in Old Town. She was 6.

China was a student at Old Town Elementary School.

She was a member of Faith In the Word Assembly.

China enjoyed basketball and swimming.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Cara and Mitch Manning of Old Town; a brother, Chad Manning of Old Town; her grandfather, Robert Blunier of Delray Beach; and her grandmother, Marilyn Blunier of Sarasota.
