Rosemarie Schlicht Paine

TRENTON -- Rosemarie Schlicht Paine of Trenton died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 57.

Mrs. Paine was born in Buffalo, N.Y., and moved to Trenton four years ago. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Chiefland.

Survivors include her husband, Roland C. Paine of Trenton; a daughter, Rebecca Paine of Trenton; three brothers, Patrick J. Schlicht of Buffalo, Frederick J. Schlicht of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Erwin W. Schlicht of Bowling Green, Ky.; two sisters, Susan Archer of Bastrop, Texas, and Johanaacq Wright of San Angelo, Texas; and one grandson.

Edith Parker

HAMPTON -- Edith F. Parker of Hampton died Thursday at Hospice House in Gainesville after a long illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Parker was a retired assistant dietitian at Tacachale.

She was born in Blount County, Ala., and moved to Hampton 56 years ago.

Mrs. Parker was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Hampton.

She enjoyed ceramics and gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Misner of Gainesville and Doris Nichols of Orlando; a sister, Bertha Simmons of Anniston, Ala.; five grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

Hao Boardwine

NEWBERRY -- Hao Boardwine of Newberry died Saturday in Atlanta after a brief illness. She was 54.

Mrs. Boardwine was president of Boardwine Electric Inc. of Gainesville and Bradenton.

Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she moved from Gainesville to Newberry three years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Dan Boardwine of Newberry; a son, J.D. Boardwine of Gainesville; a daughter, Marcia Calleja of Roswell, Ga.; and two grandchildren.

Davettah Brown

Davettah Brown of Gainesville was found dead Monday in Gainesville. She was 37.

Miss Brown was a behavioral specialist at Tacachale. She also was a certified nursing assistant at Palm Garden Care Center.

Born in Orange Lake, she moved from Micanopy to Gainesville 13 years ago.

Survivors include a daughter, Tameshia Lamar of Gainesville; two sons, Tony Lamar and Terrance Brown, both of Gainesville; her parents, Louise and Roosevelt Martin of Micanopy; a sister, Betty Martin Rochelle of Micanopy; and four brothers, Timothy Brown of Gainesville, Roosevelt Martin Jr. of Alachua, Willie Reese of Micanopy and Davie Reese of Ocala.

Joseph Tyrone Epps

WILLISTON -- Joseph Tyrone Epps of Williston died Saturday in Williston of injuries suffered in an auto accident. He was 50.

Mr. Epps was employed at Whitehurst Construction.

Born in Washington, D.C., he moved from Dayton, Ohio, to Williston four years ago. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and graduated from R.E.T.S. in heating and air conditioning.

He was a member of the Body of Christ faith.

Survivors include his wife, Celeste Epps of Williston; six children, Joelle Mobley Epps, Tracey Epps, Curran Mobley and Matthew N. Pittman, all of Ohio, Joyce Lynn Pittman of Williston and Toby L. Gullate of Gainesville; his mother, Lillian Nord Epps of Ohio; a brother, Mayron Epps of Ohio; and six grandchildren.

Joseph Giovanniello

INTERLACHEN -- Joseph Giovanniello of Interlachen died Tuesday at his home after a long illness. He was 78.

Mr. Giovanniello was a retired district manager for Westons Discount Store. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Born in New York City, he moved to Interlachen 19 years ago.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Interlachen, Tourist Club of Interlachen and the Interlachen United Methodist Church and was past president of both the Interlachen Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, and the Palm Shores Homeowners Association.

Survivors include his wife, Nita Giovanniello of Interlachen; a son, Louis Giovanniello of Kingsland, Ga.; a daughter, Phyllis DeSanto of Staten Island; a stepson, Gary Amditis of Scranton, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Linda McClendon of Ben Salem, Pa.; his stepmother, Alphonsina Giovanniello of Staten Island, N.Y.; a sister, Linda Vona of Staten Island; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Interlachen Lions Club.

Ivy Shaw Harris

Ivy Shaw Harris of Gainesville died Tuesday at Hospice House of Gainesville. She was 90.

Mrs. Harris was a former clerk at the former Wilson's Department Store in Gainesville.

Born in LaCrosse, she was a lifelong resident of Gainesville.

She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Harris.

Survivors include two daughters, Ida Louise Harris Digby of Wrightsville, Ga., and Carol Harris Parker of Gainesville; a brother, Tiny Shaw of Gainesville; a sister, Marie Jernigan of Gainesville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one great-great- grandchild.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Hospice of North Central Florida or to the Renewing to Grow Building Fund of the First Church of the Nazarene, both in Gainesville.

George Daniel Jones

INGLIS -- George Daniel Jones of Inglis died Monday at the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Care Center in Tampa. He was 67.

Mr. Jones was a retired construction superintendent for U.S. Homes in Clearwater. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Born in Philadelphia, he moved from Clearwater to Inglis 22 years ago.

He was a member of Liars Hunt Club in Gulf Hammock and was a captain of a chartered fishing boat in Levy County.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores Jones of Inglis; a son, Daniel George Jones of Clearwater; four daughters, Cindy Ann Desch, Annette Sharpe and Georgina D. Colaci, all of Dunnellon, and Shirley Fernow of Alachua; his mother, Ella M. Rosen of Croyclon, Pa.; two sisters, Shirley Bauder of Big Pine Key and Ella May Benjo of Bethlehem, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Marie Thompson Martin

REDDICK -- Marie Thompson Martin of Reddick died July 1 at her home after a long illness. She was 53.

Mrs. Martin was employed at Dayco in Ocala.

Born in Chiefland, she moved to Reddick 29 years ago. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Gainesville.

She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church of Reddick, where she was treasurer, chairwoman of the finance committee, senior usher and a member of Eastern Stars.

Survivors include her husband, Willie James Martin of Reddick; a daughter, Debbie Martin of Jacksonville; two sons, Ricky Nubin of Ocala and Gerald Preston of Jacksonville; three sisters, Verdie Maxwell and AltermeaseThompson, both of Archer, and Arssic Sherman of Raleigh; a brother, Alton Thompson Jr. of Gainesville; and 12 grandchildren.

Leel Melton

LAKE CITY -- Leel Melton of Lake City died Tuesday at Shands at Lake Shore in Lake City after a brief illness. He was 70.

Mr. Melton was a former welder for a Tampa ship yard.

He was a lifelong resident of Lake City.

Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his wife, Etheline Dupree Melton.

Survivors include four daughters, Linda Hurley, Cindy Bishop and Crystal Melton, all of Lake City, and Charlotte Thomas of Manor, Ga.; three brothers, Tommy Melton Jr. of Jacksonville, Fred Melton and Willie Melton, both of Lake City; three sisters, Betty Hatcher, Martha Haines and Hazel Newcomb, all of Lake City; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Charles Roberts Oblinger

OLD TOWN -- Charles Roberts Oblinger of Old Town died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 61.

Mr. Oblinger was a retired aerospace engineer.

Born in Tarentum, Pa., he moved from Seminole to Old Town three years ago.

He was a Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Muriel B. Oblinger of Old Town; a daughter, Sharicq Bettis of Clearwater; a sister, Judy Perna of New Cumberland, Pa.; and one grandchild.
