Doyle Gambrell
LIVE OAK - Doyle Gambrell of Live Oak died Monday at his home after a short illness. He was 71.
Mr. Gambrell was a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and had served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was also a former contractor in Tampa.
He was born in Cohay Camp, Miss., and moved from Tampa to Live Oak 11 years ago.
Mr. Gambrell was a member of the Masons and Shriners in Tampa, and of the First Baptist Church in Live Oak.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Gambrell of Live Oak; a daughter, Christine Doll of Tampa; a son, Tom P. Gambrell of Tampa; three sisters, Judy G. Hicks of Tampa, Nelma G. Allen of Byram, Miss., and Jeanette G. Beam of Gulf Breeze; a brother, Donald B. Gambrell of Taylorsville, Miss.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
William Lester Henne Jr.
William Lester Henne Jr. of Gainesville died Sunday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 84.
Mr. Henne was a retired chief executive officer for Exxon Corp. He also was a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy.
He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and moved to Gainesville nine years ago. He graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa.
Mr. Henne was a member of the American Legion of Cocoa Beach, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Moose Lodge of Gainesville.
Survivors include his wife, Nyi Nyi Henne of Gainesville; two daughters, Carole Henne Boyette of Valois, N.Y., and Mei Ling Henne of North Muskegon, Mich.; two sisters, Mary Henne Kocsis Layton of Tuckerton, N.J., and Dorothy Henne Byron of Colorado; and two brothers, Al Derek Heinz Henne of Sayerville, N.J., and Kenneth Henne of Perth Amboy, N.J.

Charles Edward Hinson
Charles Edward Hinson of Gainesville died Sunday at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., after a short illness.
He was 46.
Mr. Hinson, a truck driver, was born in Portsmouth, Va., and moved here in 1984 from Rhode Island. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Weeks Hinson of Gainesville; a son, Jason Hinson of Charleston, R.I.; two step-daughters, Sarah Davis of Graham, and Janice Lowe of Waldo; his parents, Charles F. Hinson and Virginia Biastre Hinson of Bell; and a brother, David Hinson of Bell.
Frederic Stanton Lawrence
Frederic Stanton Lawrence of Gainesville died Monday in Gainesville. He was 95.
Mr. Lawrence was a retired staff manager for Prudential Life Insurance Co.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., and moved from Alton Bay, N.H., to Gainesville 25 years ago.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth L. Durbin of Dearborn, Mich., and Bernice L. Plourde of Leesburg; a son, Frederic S. Lawrence Jr. of Hawthorne; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Wilbur Ray McLeod
LAKE CITY - Wilbur Ray McLeod of Lake City died Monday at his home after a short illness. He was 73.
Mr. McLeod was a farmer. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was born in Live Oak and moved to the Lake City area 60 years ago.
Mr. McLeod was a member of Huntsville Baptist Church in Lake City.
Survivors include his fiancee, Vormel Phillips of Live Oak; two daughters, Betty Jo Federico of Lake City and Kathy Steele of Haughton, La.; a son, Nolan McLeod of Live Oak; four brothers, Kenneth McLeod of Live Oak, Clinton McLeod of Lakeland, and Neal McLeod and Donald McLeod, both of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Daisy G. Morris
MORRISTON - Daisy G. Morris of Morriston died Tuesday at her home after a long illness. She was 87.
Mrs. Morris was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born in Pompano Beach and lived most of her life in Morriston.
Mrs. Morris was a Protestant.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Prosper Morris.
Survivors include a sister, Katherine Martin of Williston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brenten G. Myking
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. - Brenten G. Myking of Hendersonville, N.C., died Monday at his home.
He was 79.
Mr. Myking served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. After his retirement from the service, he received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Florida and became the managing editor of the Independent Florida Alligator.
He was born in Starbuck, Minn., and moved to Hendersonville 26 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Myking of Hendersonville; a son; four daughters; three sisters; and five grandchildren.

John R. Runner
John R. Runner of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at AGH. He was 84.
Mr. Runner was formerly employed at T.G. Lee Dairy Musselwhite Farms in Orlando.
He was born in Morgantown, W.Va., and moved from Edgewater to Gainesville five months ago.
Mr. Runner graduated from West Virginia University in Morgantown.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Sisler Runner of Gainesville; two daughters, Bonnie Engelhardt of Boston and Patty Foster of Gainesville; two sons, John R. Runner II of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Fred Runner of Atlanta; two sisters, Doris Shoaf of Palm Coast and Donnie Welch of Morgantown; and six grandchildren.

Violet Allen Ross Williams
Violet Allen Ross Williams of Gainesville died Friday at Palm Garden of Gainesville.
She was 80.
Mrs. Williams was a retired purchasing agent.
She was born in Richmond, Va., and moved from Dayton, Ohio, to Gainesville 10 years ago.
She was a chaplain for the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 16 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W. Williams Sr.
Survivors include a daughter, Violet A. Derifield of Dayton, Ohio; four sons, John R. Williams of Gainesville, Arthur R. Williams of Leawood, Kan., Arnold C. Williams of Longwood and Russell W. Williams Jr. of Cassellberry; a brother, John M. Ross Jr. of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Iris Flinn of Richmond, Va., and Betsy Gardner of Lima, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Violet Mae Revels
CROSS CITY - Violet Mae Revels of Cross City died Thursday at Cross City Rehab and Health. She was 87.
Mrs. Revels was a cook.
She was a lifelong resident of Dixie County.
Mrs. Revels was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
She enjoyed canning and sewing.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Barney Revels of Cross City; three daughters, Gracie Goff of Copeland, Irene Mathiew of Springfield, Ohio, and Kathleen Sullivan of Cross City; a sister, Bessie Malphurs of Hawthorne; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
