Lillian M. Sehl

WILLISTON -- Lillian M. Sehl died Sunday at her residence in Williston. She was 83.

Mrs. Sehl was born in Gladstone, Mich., and moved to Williston from Milan, Mich., 28 years ago.

She was a patient caretaker at Michigan State Hospital and a member of First United Methodist Church in Williston.

Survivors include two daughters, Clara Weismiller of Tucson, Ariz., and Linda Logan of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two sons, Roger Iverson of Stanley, N.C., and Robert Iverson of Milan; two sisters, Beverly Bett of Munising, Mich., and Loretta Iverson of Powers, Mich.; a brother, Lowell LaFave of Missouri.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

George R. Showers

BROOKER -- George R. Showers died Saturday at his home in Brooker following a lengthy illness. He was 62.

He was born in Micanopy and moved to Brooker from Orange Park.

Mr. Showers was a pipe layer and a Methodist.

Survivors include three sisters, Queen Esther Watson and Annie Mae Spann, both of Gainesville, and Daisy Dasher of Brooker; and three brothers, Felton Showers of Alachua, Robert Showers of Brooker and Watson Showers of Rochester, N.Y.

Edward J. Slysofski

ARCHER -- Edward J. Slysofski of Archer died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Slysofski was born in Hazelton, Pa., and moved to Archer from Bridgewater, N.J., 22 years ago.

He was a laboratory technician with Cytec in Bound Brook, N.J.

He was a World War II veteran and a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Slysofski of Archer; a daughter, Jacque Farmer of Archer; a son, Ken Slysofski of Trenton; a sister, Leona Guydish of Hazelton, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

Don M. Thomas

Don M. Thomas died Thursday at his home in Gainesville. He was 43.

Mr. Thomas was born in Gainesville and lived in Inverness for 12 years before returning to Gainesville six months ago.

He was the owner of Don Thomas Insurance. He also was a middle school agriculture teacher.

Mr. Thomas was a graduate of the University of Florida.

He was a member of the Citrus County Fair Association, the 4-H Club and First Baptist Church of Inverness.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Malphurs Thomas of Gainesville; two sons, Ranson Neil and Austin Garrett Thomas, both of Gainesville; his mother, Cevil Thomas of Williston; a sister, Karen Moore of Plant City; and a brother, Lee A. Thomas Jr. of Williston.

Rita Loretta Tudor

ALACHUA -- Rita Loretta Tudor of Alachua died Jan. 14 at the Hospice House of Gainesville. She was 89.

Mrs. Tudor was born in Boston and moved to Alachua from Welaka six years ago.

She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Brown of Alachua; three sons, James Delodge of Pomona Park, Robert Delodge of Guam and William Tudor III of Crescent City; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Paula Vega

CHIEFLAND -- Paula Vega of Chiefland died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 67.

Mrs. Vega was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and moved to Chiefland from Lawrence, Mass., six months ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Luciano Ortiz of Ponce, Puerto Rico; three daughters, Ana Ortiz of Bronson and Milagros Ortiz and Sara Ortiz, both of Chiefland; five sons, Luciano Ortiz of Rochester, N.Y., Otilio Ortiz of Lawrence, Mass., Ramon Ortiz of Utica, N.Y., Edwin Ortiz of Nashua, N.H., and Jose Ortiz of Ponce, Puerto Rico; two sisters, Dominga Vega of Guanica, Puerto Rico and Amalia Vega of Holyoke, Mass.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eugene H. Williamson

ORANGE LAKE -- Eugene H. Williamson of Orange Lake died of diabetes Tuesday at Nature Coast Hospital in Williston. He was 45.

Mr. Williamson was born in Arlington, Mass., and moved to Orange Lake from New Hampshire four years ago.

He was a carpenter and a Protestant.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Goult of Nashua, N.H.; two sisters, Sandra Williamson-Lasos of White River Junction, Vt., and Robin Bordanaro of Derry, N.H.; and two grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Diabetes Foundations.

William Wilson

WILLISTON -- William "Henry" Wilson, a longtime resident of Williston, died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 79.

Mr. Wilson was a farmer and a retired Florida Marine Patrol employee. He also worked as a tour guide at the Grand Canyon for 10 years.

He was a member of the Williston Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church in Williston.

He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Midget Bell; and a son, Lee Jack Wilson.

Survivors include a daughter, Zora Wilson Hartley of Williston; two sons, David W. Wilson of Williston and Glen Wilson of Longbeach, Miss.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lucille Farmer

Lucille Farmer of Cross Creek died Saturday in Cross Creek. She was 77.

Mrs. Farmer was born in Washington County, Ind., and moved to Cross Creek from Salem, Ind., in 1973. She was a homemaker, past president of Cross Creek Homemakers and a volunteer with the ladies auxiliary at Shands at Alachua General Hospital.

Mrs. Farmer also was a volunteer guide at the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings State Historic Site.

She was a member of Cross Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her husband, Earl. D. Farmer, of Cross Creek. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Markson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one son, Dwight Farmer of Gainesville; one sister, Marie Farmer of Bloomfield, Ind.; and six grandchildren.

Martha Eloise Hall

ADEL, Ga. -- Martha Eloise Hall of Adel, Ga., died Saturday in Shands Hospital at the University of Florida following an extended illness. She was 65.

Mrs. Hall was born in Dothan, Ala., and moved to Adel from Archer in 1998.

She was a program assistant at the University of Florida and attended New Life Baptist Church in Adel.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur W. Hall.

Survivors include her parents, David and Virginia Merchant of Adel; two sons, Robert E. Mock of Harrison, Tenn., and Gary Mock of Daytona Beach; one daughter, Patricia "Patty" Holt of Adel; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Edith Mildred Ufland

OLD TOWN -- Edith Mildred Ufland of Old Town died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 73.

Mrs. Ufland was born in Detroit, Mich., and moved to Old Town from Casselberry 11 years ago. She was a scanning coordinator for Gooding Department Stores and enjoyed painting, fishing, gardening, flowers, crochet and sewing.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Ufland of Old Town; three sons, Robert Ufland of Atlanta, Ga., Glen Ufland of Orlando and Kenneth McIntosh of Gainesville; three daughters, Elizabeth Harold of Midland, Texas, Carla Rosso of Casselberry and Carol Torpey of Nipono, Calif; one brother, Edwin Wade of Madison Heights, Mich.; one sister, Shirley Gauthier of Auburn Hills, Mich.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Erwin Doyle Williamson

HAMPTON -- Erwin Doyle Williamson of Hampton died Saturday at Hospice of North Central Florida. He was 55.

Mr. Williamson was a lifelong resident of Hampton and was a lifelong resident. He was retired from Gilman Paper Co. and attended Bradford County schools.

Survivors include his mother, Mildred Williamson of Hampton; one brother, Charles Williamson of Hampton; and three sisters, Virginia Bradley, Lillian Sams and Gloria Glisson, all of Hampton.
