Richard S. Holt

Richard S. Holt of Dade City died Friday at the Atrium in Gainesville. He was 91.

Mr. Holt was born in Corydon, Pa., and moved to Dade City from Southfield, Mich., eight years ago.

He was a retired accounting clerk for Cyprus Amax Corp., a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and a lifelong member of the Richard Vauz Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Musser Holt of Dade City; two daughters, Rebecca Calasso of Bloomfield, N.J., and Harriet Dalley of Fort White; a stepdaughter, Shirley Barnes of Dade City; a son, James R. Holt of Monroe, Wash.; five stepsons, Ronald Musser, Richard Musser, Eugene Musser, William Musser and Garnet Musser, all of Dade City; 13 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great- grandchildren.

Billie Lee Parker

FORT MCCOY -- Billie Lee Parker of Fort McCoy died Thursday at the Sylvia and Estelle Hospice House of Ocala. She was 75.

Mrs. Parker was born in Chiefland and moved to Fort McCoy from Jacksonville in the 1970s.

She was a waitress and a homemaker. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Clyde L. Parker of Fort McCoy; two sons, James Lewis of Newberry and Gene Lewis of Fort McCoy; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a great-great- grandchildren.

Dallas Williams Sr.

NEWBERRY -- Dallas Williams Sr. of Newberry died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was 68.

Mr. Williams was born in Lake City and moved to Newberry 56 years ago.

He received the Bronze Star for his service in the U.S. Army as a first sergeant during the Vietnam War. After 26 years in the service, Mr. Williams worked as a police officer at the University of Florida for 15 years.

He received an associate's degree from Santa Fe Community College.

Survivors include five daughters, Sherree Danielly of Huntsville, Ala., Barbara Young of Archer, and Valerie Williams, Tammy Williams and Kim Williams-Brown, all of Newberry; and two sons, Dallas Williams Jr. and Kerron Williams, both of Newberry.

Lois M. Carroll

Lois M. Carroll died Tuesday at the Hospice House of Gainesville following an extended illness. She was 69.

Mrs. Carroll was born in Detroit and moved to Gainesville from St. Petersburg in 1966.

She worked at the University of Florida as a word processor. She volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and the Hospice of North Central Florida.

She was a Protestant.

Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, James Carroll.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Carroll Carter and Joann Marie Bryant, both of Gainesville; two sons, David Wesley Carroll of St. Petersburg and James Claude Carroll IV of Asheville, N.C.; two brothers, Stuart Campbell of Portland, Ore., and Charles Campbell of Dorset, Ontario, Canada; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Hospice of North Central Florida or the Ronald McDonald House.

Ermalene Holland Frontera

Ermalene Holland Frontera of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at AGH. She was 56.

Mrs. Frontera was born in Rosebud, Ark., and moved to Gainesville from Fort Worth, Texas, 27 years ago.

She was employed by General Electric, Gates and Energizer.

She was a Protestant.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Frontera of Gainesville; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Frontera of Perry; two sons, Bryan Frontera and Jeffery Frontera, both of Gainesville; and four grandchildren.

Junior Holmes

JACKSONVILLE -- Junior Holmes of Jacksonville died Monday at University Medical Center in Jacksonville following a brief illness. He was 65.

Mr. Holmes was born in Jennings and moved to Jacksonville from Alachua in 1955.

He was employed with the city of Jacksonville streets and highways department. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lorine Holmes of Jacksonville; two daughters; two sons; three sisters; two brothers, the Rev. Earnest Holmes of High Springs and the Rev. Alexander Holmes of Alachua; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Dorcas Emmelon Graham Inmon

ST. PETERSBURG -- Dorcas Emmelon "Em" Graham Inmon of St. Petersburg died Jan. 20 at Florida Hospital in Orlando following an extended illness. She was 63.

Mrs. Inmon was born in Ocala and moved to St. Petersburg from Gainesville in 1967.

She attended Lincoln High School of Gainesville and later worked as a crossing guard with the Pinellas County schools.

She was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of St. Petersburg.

Survivors include her husband, Milton Inmon of St. Petersburg; a daughter; five sisters, including Evelyn Niblack and Jo-Ann Williams of Gainesville; four brothers, including Ernest Graham and Charles Graham of Gainesville; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mildred Crawford Jenkins

Mildred Crawford Jenkins of Gainesville died Jan. 19 at Shands at AGH following a brief illness. She was 73.

Mrs. Jenkins was born in Tallahassee and moved to Gainesville 32 years ago.

She was a lab technician at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee.

She was a member of the Pallbearers Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother's Board. She was a foster grandparent at the Girls and Boys Club.

Survivors include four daughters, Marva J. Adkins and Maxine J. Fields, both of Gainesville, Earnestine Diane Harris of Teaneck, N.J., and Jacquelyn Jenkins of Fort Lauderdale; six sisters, Naomi Franklin and Paulette Dewberry, both of Tallahassee, Mary Gavin of Rochester, N.Y., Frances Pinckney of St. Petersburg, Carolyn Crawford of Detroit and Veronica Bradley of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Bobby Crawford of Fremont, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Robin Florian Laurin

Robin Florian Laurin died Jan. 16 at his residence in West Plains, Mo., following an extended illness. He was 47.

A native of Canada, Mr. Laurin moved to Missouri 18 years ago.

He was a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife, Jodie Laurin of West Plains; his former wife, Karen Laurin of McIntosh; two daughters, including Amy Griffin of Gainesville; a stepdaughter; four stepsons; his mother; three sisters, including Linell Raulerson of Micanopy; and five grandchildren.

Evelyn Wenzel

Evelyn Wenzel of Gainesville died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 84.

A native of Covington, Ky., she moved to Gainesville from Syracuse, N.Y., in 1958.

Dr. Wenzel held a doctorate from Columbia University and taught in the College of Education at the University of Florida for 23 years.

She was a member Nation Council of Teachers of English and the International Reading Association. She published numerous articles in educational journals and she co-authored four books of literature for children.

She was a longtime member and volunteer worker with the Friends of the Library and the Retired Faculty of the University of Florida.

Dr. Wenzel is survived by a sister, Ruth E. Wenzel of Fort Thomas, Ky.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Friends of the Library.

Sanders Williams

ARCHER -- Sanders Williams, a lifelong resident of Archer, died Saturday at Integrated Health Services in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was 88.

Mr. Williams was a retired self-employed farmer.

He was a member of Mount Pisgah A.M.E. Church, where he served on the Trustee Board.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ozella Baskin-Williams of Archer; two daughters, Estella Williams-Brown of Newport News, Va., and Gloria Hayes-Roberts of Riviera Beach; two sisters, Bernice Williams-Lewis of Miami and Doris Williams Jones of Archer; two brothers, Otis Williams of Jacksonville and Eather Williams of Archer; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Vandelia Elizabeth Barrow

CHIEFLAND - Vandelia Elizabeth Barrow of Chiefland died Thursday at Tri-County Nursing Home after a long illness. She was 91.

Mrs. Barrow was an assembly worker at an electronics plant.

She was born in Chiefland.

Mrs. Barrow was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Arnold Allen of Chiefland; a daughter, Clero Allen of Chiefland; a sister, Susie Curry of Haines City; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
