Jack Stallworth Llewellyn

Jack Stallworth Llewellyn of Gainesville died Friday after the bicycle he was riding was hit by a car. He was 57.

Dr. Llewellyn was a pediatric dentist.

He was born in Gadsden, Ala., and moved from Birmingham, Ala., to Gainesville 27 years ago. He was the past president of the Florida Society of Dentistry for Children and the past president of the Florida Dento-Facial Study Group. Dr. Llewellyn received the Certificate of Merit from the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

He was the director of the Alachua County Smile Contest and taught classes that redirected children's behavior.

Dr. Llewellyn received a bachelor's degree from Auburn University and graduated from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963.

Survivors include his daughter, Catherine Llewellyn Venable of Birmingham; his son, Terrence Llewellyn of Charlotte, N.C.; and his brother, Marvin Llewellyn of Atlanta.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Dr. Jack Llewellyn Memorial Fund through the University of Florida College of Dentistry.

Bertha Severence

LAKE GENEVA -- Bertha Severence of Lake Geneva died Sunday at her home. She was 93.

Ms. Severence was a homemaker. Born in Decatur, Ind., she moved to Lake Geneva from Decatur 30 years ago.

Ms. Severence was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 120 in Waldo and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights.

Survivors include her son, Frank Marshall of Keystone Heights; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.

Wilhelmina Nelson Walker

Wilhelmina Nelson Walker of Gainesville died Saturday at Shands at the University of Florida after a short illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Walker was a nurse's aide.

Born in Augusta, Ga., she moved from Otter Creek to Gainesville 54 years ago.

She was a member of Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she was a past president of the Missionary Society and a member of the Stewardess Board and the choir.

Survivors include her husband, James Walker of Gainesville; a daughter, Liz Walker of Gainesville; a sister, Katie Fuller of Gainesville; a brother, James Colbert of St. Augustine; and two grandchildren.

Luther Martin Woodle

BRANFORD -- Luther Martin Woodle of Branford died Sunday at Hospice House in Gainesville. He was 84.

Mr. Woodle was a welder. He was born in Plant City and moved to Branford from High Springs two years ago. He was a member of the Church of God.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Woodle of Branford; four daughters, Arlene Rehberg of Branford, Judy Perry of Carrollton, Ga., Lynette Desmith of Falkville, Ala., and Christine Dempsey of San Antonio, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

D.E. Chambers

D.E. Chambers of Gainesville died Friday at Hospice of North Central Florida. He was 80.

Mr. Chambers was a salesman at the former Blount Pontiac dealership. He also served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant during World War II in the Pacific.

Born in Blakely, Ga., he moved 31 years ago from Ocala to Gainesville.

He belonged to the North Central Baptist Church in Gainesville. He also was member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Virginia Chambers of Gainesville; a daughter, Phyllis Chambers of Houston; two sons, Ron Poppen-Chambers of Fort Collins, Colo., and Randy Chambers of Olive Branch, Miss.; three brothers, Gerald Chambers and Monty Chambers, both of Tallahassee, and Hubert Chambers of Cairo, Ga.; four sisters, Vern Hicks, Dorothy Grimsley and Carolyn Townsend, all of Tallahassee, and Edna Lane of Thomasville, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the North Central Baptist Church or Hospice of North Central Florida.

Silistine Suggs Clark

TRENTON -- Silistine "Scooter" Suggs Clark of Trenton died Friday at the Tri-County Nursing Center. She was 72.

Mrs. Clark was an assistant manager at the Junior Food Store in Trenton for many years.

Born in Avon Park, she moved to Trenton about 40 years ago.

Mrs. Clark belonged to the Church of God.

She was preceded in death by husbands Horace Suggs and Andrew Clark.

Survivors include three sons, James Garvin and Mark Suggs, both of Trenton, and Kenneth Suggs of Dade City; four daughters, Sandra Langford and Eunice Cribs, both of Williston, Crystal Buchanan of Dade City and Carol Shaw of Trenton; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Sandy Presnell

HIGH SPRINGS -- Sandy Presnell of High Springs died Saturday at Shands at AGH after a long illness. He was 52.

Mr. Presnell was the owner of Sandy Presnell Real Estate and Insurance in High Springs.

Born in Gainesville, he was a lifelong High Springs resident.

Survivors include his mother, Elaine Presnell of High Springs; two sons, Lane Presnell and Trey Presnell, both of Alachua; two daughters, Kelli Clark of Alachua and Sandra Presnell of Gainesville; three brothers, Lee Presnell, Quinn Presnell and Kevin Presnell, all of High Springs; and two grandchildren.

John Dekle Rimes

LAKE BUTLER -- John Dekle Rimes of Worthington Springs died Friday at Lake Butler Hospital after a brief illness. He was 92.

Mr. Rimes was a retired maintenance foreman with the University of Florida.

A lifelong resident of Union County, Mr. Rimes belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Worthington Springs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Rimes.

Survivors include one son, John D. Rimes Jr. of Cross Creek; one daughter, Mary Lou Kent of Orange Park; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in the form of donations to Hospice of North Central Florida.

Marcella Tracy Ross

TRENTON -- Marcella Tracy Ross of Keystone Heights died Saturday at the Ayers Rehabilitation Center in Trenton. She was 82.

Mrs. Ross was a homemaker.

Born in Jacksonville, she moved from Miami to Keystone Heights 24 years ago.

Mrs. Ross belonged to the St. Williams Catholic Church in Keystone Heights.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Thacker Ross.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Timmerberg of Alachua and Marcella Dorman of Miami; six grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

Carole Stanley Garner

CHIEFLAND - Carole Stanley Garner died Tuesday after an extended illness. She was 62.

She was born in Elmore County, Ala., and moved to Chiefland 43 years ago.

She was a secretary at White Construction for 15 years and retired from Central Florida Electric in 1996.

Mrs. Garner was a Baptist.

Survivors include her former husband, Josh Garner of Old Town; a daughter, Karen Garner of Mayo; a son, Joshua S. Garner of Old Town; a brother, William Franklin Stanley; and three grandchildren.

John Maloomian

CHIEFLAND - John Maloomian died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 85.

He was born in Arabkis, Armenia, and moved to Chiefland from Hollywood, Fla., two years ago.

Mr. Maloomian owned and operated a laundry and dry cleaning business in Westwood, Mass.

He was a survivor of the Armenian Death March in 1915.

Mr. Maloomian graduated from Newton Trade School in Newton, Mass.

He was a member of the Elks of Wareham, Mass., and the Armenian Church of Watertown, Mass.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Maloomian; four daughters, Debra Wagner of Boca Raton, Debra Martin of Hollywood, Fla., Darleen Karp of Tampa and Brenda Bufarale of Pembroke Pines; a son, Michael Martin of Chiefland; a brother, George Maloomian of Falmouth, Mass.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
