James Henry Sapp Sr.

TRENTON - James Henry Sapp Sr. of Trenton died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was 91.

Mr. Sapp was a retired master carpenter. He also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was born in Jennings Lake and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Mr. Sapp was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and the Carpenters Local Union No. 75.

He was a Seventh-day Adventist and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include four sons, James Henry Sapp Jr. and Thomas Leslie Sapp, both of Trenton, Mitchell Earl Sapp of Gainesville and Barney Lee Sapp of Alachua; four daughters, Linnie Beck of Trenton, Donna Wright of Zebulon, N.C., Audrey Wynne of Newberry and Germaine Wynns of Old Town; a sister, Florence Gay of Fairbanks; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to Jennings Lake cemetery Fund.

Minnie Tice

LIVE OAK - Minnie Tice of Live Oak died Tuesday at her home. She was 87.

Mrs. Tice was a homemaker and a deaconess at the First Advent Christian Church in Live Oak.

She was born in New Brockton, Ala., and moved from Plant City to Live Oak 21 years ago.

Survivors include two sons, Clifton Lamar Tice of Clermont and Moody Frank Tice of Yuma, Ariz.; six daughters, Caroline Jerabek and Melba Frier, both of Live Oak, Sybil Gay of Plant City, Gayle Allen of Lakeland, Janice Price of Lake City and Debra Langford of Tampa; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Gerald J. Wagoner

NEWBERRY - Gerald J. Wagoner of Newberry died Saturday at his home. He was 71.

Mr. Wagoner was an auto mechanic. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was born in Hammond, N.Y., and moved to Newberry 10 years ago.

Mr. Wagoner enjoyed bowling, fishing and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Wagoner of Newberry; two sons, Larry Wagoner of St. Petersburg and George Wagoner of Newberry; a daughter, Edna Wagoner of Syracuse, N.Y.; a sister, Katherine Hayes of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren.

Gertrude Cohoon Watson

GULF HAMMOCK - Gertrude Cohoon Watson of Gulf Hammock died Monday in Gulf Hammock due to injuries suffered in an auto accident. She was 80.

Mrs. Watson was the former owner and operator of a fig tree nursery in Gulf Hammock.

She was born in Columbia, N.C., and moved from St. Petersburg to Gulf Hammock 40 years ago.

Mrs. Watson attended the Church of God in Gulf Hammock and was a member of the Church of God in Williston. She formerly taught Sunday school at both churches.

Survivors include three sons, Alfred L. Watson of Sacramento, Calif., Kenneth T. Watson of Bronson and George R. Watson of Melrose; a sister, Mamie Jennings of Camden, N.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Velma F. Bellaw

Velma F. Bellaw of The Village in Gainesville died Thursday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 88.

Mrs. Bellaw was a homemaker.

She was born in Franklinville, N.Y., and moved from Largo to Gainesville one year ago.

Mrs. Bellaw was a member of the Calvary Episcopal Church in Indian Rocks Beach.

Survivors include a brother, Gilbert Furman of Port Huron, Mich.; three sisters, Catherine Nicolai and Patricia Ladendorf, both of Lakeland, and Joyce Yancey of Gainesville.

Jacqueline Marie Berry

MORRISTON - Jacqueline Marie Berry of Morriston died Thursday at her home after a long illness. She was 49.

Mrs. Berry was a receptionist and a master gardener in the state Department of Agriculture.

She was born in Akron, Ohio, and moved from Palm Beach County to Morriston three months ago.

Mrs. Berry was a Christian.

Survivors include her husband, Leslie Berry of Morriston; two sons, Christopher Berry of West Palm Beach and Daniel Berry of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Dawn Taylor of Panama City; her father, Floyd Cunningham of Wellington; her mother, Jacqueline Mooney of Coral Gables; a sister, Patricia Mooney of Titusville; and five grandchildren

Linda Carver

McALPIN - Linda Carver of McAlpin died Friday at Lake City Medical Center after a long illness. She was 55.

Mrs. Carver was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was born in Fernandina Beach and moved to McAlpin 32 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Carver of McAlpin; three daughters, Leslie Carver of Melbourne, Ashlee Carver of Lake City and Mandy Carver of McAlpin; five sisters, Ann Grace, Evon Hatfield and Wanda Green, all of Fernandina Beach, Latrell Williams of Lulu and Maggie Gore of Jacksonville; two brothers, John Guest and Delmas Guest, both of Fernandina Beach; and one grandchild.

Joe Cleveland Dees

BRONSON - Joe Cleveland Dees of Bronson died Thursday at Hospice House in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 76.

Mr. Dees was a truck driver for the state Department of Transportation.

He was born in Gainesville and moved from Cross City to Bronson 25 years ago.

Mr. Dees was a member of the McCrab Baptist Church in Old Town.

He enjoyed fishing and listening to bluegrass music.

Survivors include his wife, Levaughn Dees of Bronson; three sons, Sidney Joe Dees of Georgia, Lowell Dees of Old Town and Tommy Bodiford of Bronson; six daughters, JoeAnn Garcia, Gatsy Long, Crystal Dees and Lorrie Dees, all of Bronson, Shirley Tricocci of Raiford and Susan Ergle of Alachua; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Piccola Dozer Lytle Oglesby

STEINHATCHEE - Piccola Dozer Lytle Oglesby of Steinhatchee died Friday at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was 82.

Mrs. Oglesby was a minister and a member of the Salem Baptist Purity Church.

She was born in Lake Bird and was a lifelong resident of Steinhatchee.

Mrs. Oglesby was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cecil J. Oglesby Sr.; and one son.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil J. Oglesby Jr. and Parker Oglesby, both of Everglades City, and G.W. Oglesby of Steinhatchee; three daughters, Gussie Harris of Glen St. Mary, Georgia Brown of Chokoloskee and Ila Harris of Macclenny; two brothers, Robert Lee Lytle of Lake Bird and Jay Bryant Lytle of Steinhatchee; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Jim Reddish

STARKE - Jim Reddish of Starke died Thursday at his home after a long illness. He was 41.

Mr. Reddish was employed at Starke Uniform and was a lifelong resident of Starke.

Mr. Reddish attended the Church of God.

Survivors include three sisters, Carol Reddish and Bette Brown, both of Starke, and Susan Cauley of Baxley, Ga.; and two brothers, Greg Reddish of Jacksonville and Bill Reddish of Starke.

Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Jim Reddish Memorial Fund at Hope Lodge, c/o Community State Bank in Starke.

Elizabeth L. Tuttle

OLD TOWN - Elizabeth L. Tuttle of Old Town died Thursday in Old Town. She was 85.

Mrs. Tuttle was a retired hotel housekeeper.

She was born in Charleston, S.C., and moved from Avon Park to Old Town 12 years ago.

Mrs. Tuttle enjoyed dancing, sewing and creating ceramic crafts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Tuttle; a son, Kenneth Ray Tuttle; and a daughter, Janice Faith LaPort.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph B. Tuttle Jr. and William I. Tuttle, both of Hollywood; three daughters, Betty Ann Tuttle and Barbara VanDermark, both of Old Town, and Carroll Stephen of Hollywood; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Elner M. Wiggs

WILLISTON - Elner M. Wiggs of Williston died Thursday in Williston after a long illness. She was 78.

Mrs. Wiggs was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She was born in Arkansas and moved from Inverness to Williston five years ago.

Survivors include a son, Roger D. White of Williston; and four grandchildren.
