Kevin Antonio Grimmage

Kevin Antonio Grimmage, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, died April 28 at his home. He was 26.

Mr. Grimmage was a musician and had just released his first CD.

Survivors include his fiancee, Canitri Nelson of Gainesville; two daughters, Kanisha S. and Katlyn A. Grimmage, both of Gainesville; two sons, Kevin A. Grimmage Jr. and Kel'Von Grimmage, both of Gainesville; his mother, Doreatha Grimmage of Gainesville; his father, William Murray of Frederick, Md.; and a brother, Jerald A. Grimmage of Gainesville.

Albert Hugh Overstreet

LAKELAND -- Albert Hugh Overstreet died Monday at his residence in Lakeland following a lingering illness. He was 72.

Mr. Overstreet was born in Orlando and moved to Lakeland from Cedar Key two months ago.

He was a minister and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Charlene E. Overstreet of Lakeland; two daughters, Marilyn E. Van Riper and Catherine A. Carver, both of Lakeland; a son, Charles E. Overstreet of Quincy; a sister, Pauline Dennis of Ventura, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

Bonnie I. Smith

JACKSONVILLE BEACH -- Bonnie I. Smith of Jacksonville Beach died Monday. He was 93.

Mr. Smith was born in Altha and moved to Jacksonville Beach in 1951.

He attended the University of Florida and was the founder of Bonnie I. Smith Company, Inc., and co-founder of Ocean State Bank.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his first wife, Isabel D. Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Campbell Smith of Jacksonville Beach; three daughters, JoAnne Yancey of Shawnee, Okla., and Bonnie Jean Pendray and Bonita Lockwood, both of Williston; a son, Bonnie I. Smith Jr. of Old Town; a stepdaughter, Paula Campbell of Guntersville, Ala.; a stepson, Don Campbell of Atlantic Beach; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Virginia Rose Burke Traupane

Virginia Rose Burke Traupane of Gainesville died Monday at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. She was 81.

Mrs. Traupane was born in Sugar Run, Pa., and moved to Gainesville from Lighthouse Point more than 35 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a school teacher.

She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church, Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Psi Omega and the Gainesville Catholic Women's Club.

She volunteered with the Meals on Wheels Program, the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Santa Fe Community College.

Mrs. Traupane graduated from Bloomsburg State Teacher's College in Bloomsburg, Pa., with a degree in elementary education.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Bailey of Blairsville, Ga., Sandy Wold of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Sherry Thomas of Tallahassee; two sons, Gary Traupane of Gainesville and Ron Traupane of Glenwood, Md.; a brother, Jerry Burke of Sugar Run, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.

Richard Viele Jr.

LIVE OAK -- Richard Viele Jr. of Live Oak died Sunday in an accident in Tennessee. He was 42.

Mr. Viele was born in Fort Lauderdale, and he moved to Live Oak in 1972.

He was a welder at Kam Machine Shop and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Erika Stuckey of Live Oak and Nikki Lockhart of Jacksonville; his parents, Wimpy and Gerry Viele of Live Oak; a sister, Debbie Weber of Live Oak; and his grandmother, Margaret Viele of Fort Lauderdale.

Billie Lillie Watson

LAWTEY -- Billie Lillie Watson of Lawtey died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Watson was born in Alma, Ga., and moved to Lawtey from Macclenny in 1975.

She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

She served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Watson Sr.

Survivors include a son, Charlie Watson of Gainesville; a brother, Dell Gilliard of Apopka; and two grandchildren.

Doris B. Williams

WILLISTON -- Doris B. Williams of Williston died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 57.

Mrs. Williams was born in Mobile, Ala., and moved to Williston from Jersey City, N.J., 21 years ago.

She was a custodian.

She was a member of the Deborah Chapter No. 8 of the Order of the Eastern Star and Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert Williams of Williston; a daughter, Wanda Oats of Archer; two sons, Darius Williams of Athens, Ohio, and Chad Williams of Williston; her parents, Almedia and Louis McNary, both of Clovis, Calif.; eight sisters, Almedia J. McNary of Cordova, Calif., Virginia Robinson of Silver Springs, Calif., Victoria Menga, Sharon Black, Barbara Black, Gwendolyn Black, all of Jersey City, N.J., Sheliah Black of Philadelphia and Aurora Willis of Williston; four brothers, Tall Johnson, Jeffery Johnson, Marion Johnson and Edmon Johnson, all of Jersey City, N.J.; and three grandchildren.

William Edwin Banks

RAIFORD - William Edwin Banks of Raiford died Tuesday at the University Hospital in Jacksonville after a motorcycle accident. He was 56.

Mr. Banks was a retired engineer with Sun Oil in Chester, Pa.

He was born in Raiford and moved from Chester, Pa., back to Raiford 25 years ago.

Mr. Banks was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raiford and a member of the Master Mates and Pilots Union in Jacksonville.

Survivors include two sons, William E. "Binky" Banks and David R. Banks, both of Colora, Md.; two daughters, Becky Banks of Chadsford, Pa., and Betty Jean Ostendorf of Lake City; his mother, Betty Ross of Raiford; a brother, Joel Alvarez of Raiford; and three grandchildren.

Wilson Melvin Capell, Sr.

Wilson Melvin Capell Sr. of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at AGH in after a short illness. He was 94.

Mr. Capell was a retired switchboard operator for Proctor & Gamble.

He was born in Rochelle and moved from Perry to Gainesville 25 years ago.

Mr. Capell was a member of Perry Lodge No. 123 F&AM; for 70 years. He was a member of the North Central Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, W.M. "Monk" Capell.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Cowart Capell of Gainesville; a son, Harry Richmond Capell of Live Oak; two brothers, Wood Moreland Capell of Lake City and the Rev. Tom Capell of Lakeland; a sister, Annie Fay Hickox of Hawthorne; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of contributions to North Central Baptist Church.

Jewell Crews Cellon

Jewell Crews Cellon of Gainesville died Tuesday at Gainesville Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was 94.

Mrs. Cellon was a homemaker.

She was born in LaCrosse, where she lived her entire life. Mrs. Cellon was a former AGH Auxillary member. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville.

She is preceded in death by her husband, D. Mondell Cellon and a son, DeWitt L. Cellon.

Survivors include two sons, D.M. Cellon Jr. of Gainesville and Kenneth L. Cellon of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Leverett Crews of Gainesville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of a contribution to a favorite charity.

Deacon Oliac C. "O.C." Henderson

PALATKA - Deacon Oliac C. "O.C." Henderson of Palatka died Saturday at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka after a long illness. He was 74.

Mr. Henderson was a retired teacher and served in the U.S. Army.

He was born in Hawthorne and moved from Wildwood to Palatka 39 years ago.

He was a member of the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served in many ministries, including the Secretary of the Deacon's Ministry and as assistant superintendent of the church's Sunday school.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Clareatha Smith Henderson.

Survivors include two sons, Calvester T. Carter of Ramstein, Germany, and Alfred O. Henderson of Palatka; two daughters, Annie H. Coleman of Atlanta and Orlantha Claretta McKinnon of Palatka; two brothers, the Rev. C.C. Henderson of Hawthorne and Warren Henderson Sr. of Gainesville; six sisters, Elmer Morris of Williston, Marjorie Jenkins of Johnson, Marzella McDonald and Emma Bell Clayton, both of Jacksonville, Lillie Mae Williams of Hawthorne and Maeola Thompkins of Cleveland; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
