Carlos Green

RAIFORD -- Carlos Green of Raiford died Wednesday at Shands at Starke following a brief illness. He was 79.

Mr. Green was a lifelong resident of Bradford County. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Union County School Board.

He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church of Worthington Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Seay Green of Raiford; a daughter, Very E. Key of Raiford; four sisters, Beatrice Johns of St. Augustine, Lois Varnes of Lake Butler and Anna Lora Lewis and Sherry Miller, both of Raiford; three brothers, Lamar Green of Raiford, Kirby Green of Ormond Beach and Ira Green of Macclenny; two grandsons, Joey Key and Johnny Key, both of Raiford; and four great-grandchildren.

Helen Glenn Merryday Hintermister

Helen Glenn Merryday Hintermister of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville. She was 83.

A native of Madison, she moved to Gainesville in 1940.

Mrs. Hintermister was a school teacher in Alachua County for 29 years, teaching mainly at Stephen Foster Elementary School.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.

Mrs. Hintermister graduated from Florida State College for Women, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry "Jr." Hintermister.

Survivors include three sons, John Henry Hintermister, Sam Marks Hintermister and Crill Merryday Hintermister, all of Gainesville, a brother, Henry Crill Merryday of Tallahassee; and two grandchildren.

Fannie Lee Johnson

HAWTHORNE -- Fannie Lee Johnson of Hawthorne died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 89.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Live Oak and moved to Hawthorne from Titusville in 1934.

She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Hazel Surrency Women's Circle.

She was a former member of the Hawthorne Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris G. Johnson Sr.

Survivors include three sons, Larry J. Johnson and Ferris G. Johnson Jr., both of Hawthorne, and Ronald F. Johnson of Atwater, Calif.; a sister, Vergie L. McGlamory of Jacksonville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Eunice M. Lewis

Eunice M. Lewis of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 78.

Mrs. Lewis was born in Summerfield and moved to Gainesville from Bellview in 1945.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She also attended Hague United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Lewis.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda L. and Jim Coon of Alachua; a granddaughter, Amy Davis of Orange Heights; and two nieces, Patsy Coker of Arcadia and Sylvia Peeples of Jacksonville.

Bruce J. Loubet Sr.

OLD TOWN -- Bruce J. Loubet Sr. of Old Town died in Old Town Tuesday. He was 62.

Mr. Loubet was born in Plainfield, N.J., and moved to Old Town from Largo 25 years ago.

He was a road construction worker and a member of the Old Town Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Loubet.

Survivors include a daughter, Denise LaSala of Rutherford, N.J.; three sons, Bruce J. Loubet Jr. of Pinellas Park, Tyler Loubet of Ohio and Darrel Loubet of North Carolina; his mother, Bea Loubet of Old Town; a sister, Carol Raether of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Barry Loubet of Chiefland and Mickey Lasher of Homosassa Springs; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy may be in the form of donations to Hospice House of Gainesville.

Carl W. Mullins

Carl W. Mullins of Live Oak died Wednesday at Suwannee Health Care Center in Live Oak. He was 66.

Mr. Mullins was a native of Mountain View, Ark. He was a construction worker and a Baptist.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Katherine Mullins of Lodi, Calif.; a brother, Clarence Mullins of Plant City; an aunt, Marie Goodwin of Lake City; a cousin, Leo Goodwin of Lake City; and a nephew, Thomas Lee of Dempsey of Arkansas.

Inez Irene Davis Rogers

TRENTON -- Inez Irene Davis Rogers, a longtime resident of Gilchrist County, died Wednesday in Marietta, Ga. She was 77.

Mrs. Rogers was a retired state employee and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey J. Rogers.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Cooper of Marietta; two stepdaughters, Carol Dean of Trenton and Jinger Smith of Stuart, Va.; two stepsons, Larry Rogers of Trenton and Tommy Rogers of Newberry; a brother, Jimmy Davis of Cross City; seven grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

Amelia C. Sierakowski

Amelia C. Sierakowski of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 88.

Mrs. Sierakowski was born in Enfield, Conn., and moved to Gainesville from Vernon, Conn., in 1974.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church.

She loved to travel.

Mrs. Sierakowski was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Sierakowski.

Survivors include a son, Robert L. Sierakowski of Niceville; a brother, Theodore Misiaszek of Enfield; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Kobleck of Vernon, Conn.; and two grandchildren, Steven Sierakowski and Sandra Sierakowski.

Eddie Vinson

Eddie Vinson, a lifelong resident of Gainesville, died Sunday in Gainesville following a sudden illness. He was 58.

Mr. Vinson was the owner of Eddie's Plastering Co. and a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.

He was a 1963 graduate of Lincoln High School, where he played football. In his senior year, he received the Most Valuable Player Award for scoring the winning touchdown during the Big Red Terriers State Championship.

Survivors include his wife, Mary G. Vinson of Gainesville; three daughters, Kalissa Vinson, Monique Vinson and Molly Frazier, all of Gainesville; a son, Charles C. Penny of Gainesville; a sister, Mattie Gainey of Gainesville; two brothers, Harry Vinson and John Vinson, both of Gainesville; and two grandchildren.

Charles F. Dixon Williams

FORT LAUDERDALE -- Charles F. Dixon Williams of Fort Lauderdale died March 15 in Fort Lauderdale following a brief illness. He was 63.

Mr. Williams was born in Alachua and moved to Fort Lauderdale from Gainesville 20 years ago.

He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He was a Baptist.

Local survivors include his wife, Bernice Williams of Fort Lauderdale; his mother, Susie Mae Mills of Alachua; two daughters, Shannett Williams and Sylvia Hayes, both of Gainesville; a brother, Dewayne Dixon of Gainesville; and two sisters, Musheerah Shahid of Gainesville and Eunice Garrison of LaCrosse.

Rosetta Williams

Rosetta Williams of Gainesville died March 14 at North Florida Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 78.

Mrs. Williams was born in Gainesville and lived in Miami before relocating to Gainesville 10 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of New Jerusalem Growing in Grace. She graduated from Lincoln High School.

Survivors include two brothers, Roger Bullard of St. Petersburg and Charles Williams of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a cousin and caregiver, Rosa Batie of Gainesville.

Jake C. Young

Jake C. Young, a lifelong resident of Gainesville died at his residence Tuesday. He was 44.

Mr. Young was a mechanic and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church, where he served as an usher. He served in the U.S. Army.

He graduated from Hawthorne High School and received an associate of arts degree in engineering from Santa Fe Community College.

Survivors include his companion, Bonnie Taylor of Gainesville; two daughters, Tuwanna Young of LaCrosse and Mekeshia Young of Ocala; a son, Jake C. Young of Pompano Beach; two stepsons, Keron Harden and Tremayne Taylor, both of Gainesville; his mother and stepfather, Louise and Eddie Gordon of Grove Park; his father and stepmother, Jake C. and Ella Young of Waldo; 10 sisters, Silvery King, Bernice Filer and Gladys Hayes, all of Gainesville, Patricia Cook and Johnnie Mae Young, both of Hawthorne, Mae Evelyn Taylor and Glenda Young, both of Waldo, Victoria Brown of Interlachen, Lillie M. Jones of Palatka and Merle Davis of Ocala; five brothers, Eddie Gordon Jr. and Robert Gordon, both of Hawthorne, Jake C. Young Jr. of Jacksonville, Leon Young of Archer and John Young of Gainesville; his grandparents, Louis and Mae Etta Gordon of Hawthorne; and three grandchildren.
