Calvin Ethon Howard

Calvin Ethon Howard of Gainesville died Aug. 8 at Hospice of North Central Florida following a brief illness. He was 46.

Mr. Howard was born in Fort Lauderdale and moved to Gainesville from Pompano Beach in 1992.

He was a plasterer and a member of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Sands Howard.

Survivors include daughters Jessica Howard of Gainesville and Shonta Howard of Fort Lauderdale; sisters Beulah Sapp of East Orange, N.J., and Janet Bostick and Patricia Jordan, both of Gainesville; and brothers James Howard of Pompano Beach and Marion Grooms of Chiefland.

Louise Strange Lewis

Louise Strange Lewis of Gainesville died Tuesday at Gainesville Heath Care Center. She was 98.

The Virginia native moved to Gainesville in 1990.

She was a sales clerk. She attended Highland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie L. Lewis.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean L. McDonell of Gainesville; a son, Lonnie Langston Lewis of Danville, Va.; a sister, Florine Miller of Vernon Hill, Va.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

William August Miller

GULF HAMMOCK -- William August Miller died Saturday at his residence. He was 54.

The Pittsburgh, Pa., native moved to Gulf Hammock from Ocoee 20 years ago.

He was a maintenance mechanic of 25 years with Florida Power and a metal and glass artisan. He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors include his wife, Penny Miller of Gulf Hammock; a son, Clint Miller of Trenton; sisters Sally Erickson of Altoona, Wis., and Sandy Schmalsteig of Pittsburgh; and a granddaughter, Kyliee Miller.

Evelyn Marie Ogden

Evelyn Marie Ogden of Gainesville died Wednesday in Gainesville. She was 63.

Mrs. Ogden was born in Brooker and moved to Gainesville 43 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Waldo Road Kingdom Hall. She enjoyed crocheting.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Johns.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Ogden of Gainesville; a son, John C. Johns III of Gainesville; a brother, Coleman F. Padgett Jr. of Gainesville; sisters Myrtle Parrish of Lake Butler, Carol Little and Mary Padgett, both of Gainesville, and Claudia Aver of Interlachen; and three grandchildren.

Sivina Terry

ALACHUA -- Sivina Terry died Sunday at Palm Garden Nursing Care Center following an extended illness. She was 90.

Mrs. Terry was born in Cusper, Ga., and moved to Alachua from Brooker 26 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include sons Fred, Ernest, Jack Willie and Jimmy Terry, all of Alachua, and Sid Terry of Archer; daughters Betty Jean Terry of Alachua and Bessie Hendry of Queens, N.Y.; 28 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Charles W. Thulin

Charles W. Thulin died Monday at his residence in Gainesville. He was 85.

The New York City native moved to Gainesville from Valparaiso last year.

He was a machinist and a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Thulin of Gainesville; sisters Winifred Brady and Marion Collin, both of New York City; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Geneva Walker

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS -- Geneva Walker died Wednesday in Starke following an extended illness. She was 78.

The Tennessee native moved to Keystone Heights in 1980.

She was a retired home health care worker and a former member of the Keystone Senior Services.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Pollard of Keystone Heights; a brother, Allan Brown of Chatsworth, Calif.; a sister, Geraldine Brown of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren.

David Lee West

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS -- David Lee West died Monday at Shands at Jacksonville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 47.

The Jacksonville native moved to Keystone Heights in 1979.

He was a self-employed electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Gilmore West of Keystone Heights; sons Jeremy West of Orange Park and Matthew, Kevin and Joshua West, all of Keystone Heights; his mother, Mildred Johnson of Jacksonville; and sisters, Karen Cody and Jeanne McDaniel, both of Jacksonville.

St. Patrick's priest dies at age 48

The Rev. Paul V. Donnelly of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville after a long illness. He was 48.

The Rev. Donnelly was a priest at St. Patrick's Church. He previously taught elementary school in New York City.

Born in New York City, he moved from Boynton Beach to Gainesville 13 years ago.

He was raised in Rego Park, N.Y., and graduated from Resurrection Ascension Catholic School in Rego Park, St. Johns University and St. Vincent DePaul Seminary of Boynton Beach. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his parents, Edmund and Catherine Donnelly of Rego Park; brothers, Edmund Donnelly of Seminole, John Donnelly of Smithtown, N.Y.; and Frank Donnelly of Miami; and a sister, Anne Donnelly of Tampa.

Williams-Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Linnie C. Ange

CROSS CITY -- Linnie C. Ange died Monday. She was 95.

Mrs. Ange moved to Cross City from Mayo.

She taught school in Mayo for 12 years and Cross City for 40 years. She earned a bachelor's degree from Florida State College for Women and a masters in education from the University of Florida. She was a member of the Cross City Church of Christ and the Retired Educators of Dixie County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ange.

She has no immediate survivors.

Winifred Virginia Armour

Winifred Virginia Armour of Gainesville died Monday at the Hospice House of Gainesville. She was 84.

The Alabama native moved to Gainesville 31 years ago. She was a homemaker and a Protestant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Jet Armour, and a son, Adrian Allen Armour.

Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Rhoden of Gainesville; a grandson, Jet T. Reeves of Gainesville; and a great-grandson, Jet A. Reeves of Gainesville.
