Richard Lambert Milligan

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS -- Richard Lambert Milligan died Tuesday at North Florida Rehab center in Gainesville. He was 64.

Born in Starke, he moved to Keystone Heights from Jacksonville 25 years ago.

Mr. Milligan was a salesman with Martin Coffee Co.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the Jaycees and the Lions Club of Jacksonville.

He attended Faith Presbyterian Church in Melrose.

Mr. Milligan is survived by his wife, Carrie L. Milligan of Keystone Heights; three daughters, Cheryl Milligan of Gainesville, Cynthia Hammond of Houston and Nancy Halbrook of Gainesville; two sons, Richard Milligan of Middleburg and R. Scott Milligan of West Palm Beach; three sisters, Virginia Ford of Jacksonville, Elizabeth Hooten of Jacksonville and Joann Landon of Boca Raton; and three grandchildren.

Claudia Moody

HAWTHORNE -- Claudia Moody died Thursday at her residence in Hawthorne. She was 59.

Born in Jacksonville, she moved to Hawthorne 29 years ago.

She was a secretary for the Clerk of the Circuit Court in Jacksonville in the early 1960s.

She attended the Power Worship Cathedral Center.

Mrs. Moody is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Goldwire Moody Jr.

She is survived by three sons, William Joseph Christian of Atlanta, Matthew Ray Moody of Jacksonville and Curtis Lee Moody of Hawthorne; three brothers, Waring Wallace Barbee of Augusta, S.C., Clifford Barbee of Jacksonville and Richard Russell Barbee of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Betty Jean Willis and Beverly Ann Johnson, both of Blairsville, Ga.; and eight grandchildren.

Robert Coleman Sr.

Robert "Flat Top" Coleman Sr., a lifelong resident of Gainesville, died in an automobile accident Monday. He was 56.

Mr. Coleman was a mason and a Baptist.

Survivors include his mother, Inez Coleman of Williston; his fiancee, Jane Gould of Gainesville; four daughters, Carolyn Frison, Lorraine Nelson, Telisa Coleman and Tangelo Fraiser, all of Williston; two sons, Robert Mozell Coleman Jr. and Muhammed Coleman, both of Williston; and six sisters, Ethel Wilcox, Francis Coleman, Mary Lee, Lutisher Coleman and Linda Cox, all of Williston, and Ida Mae Coleman of New York; four brothers, Clarence Coleman of Orlando and Wilbert Coleman, Rudolph Coleman and Randolph Coleman, all of Williston; 22 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Jewell B. Crosby

HAWTHORNE - Jewell B. Crosby of Hawthorne died Tuesday at Putnam Community Medical Center following a brief illness. She was 58.

Mrs. Crosby was born in Bibb County, Ga., and moved to Hawthorne from Keystone Heights in 1990.

She was a nursing home nurse's aid, a butcher with the Suwannee Store in Hawthorne and a member of Interlachen Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, D.S. Crosby of Hawthorne; a daughter, Dale Root of Interlachen; two sons, Robert D. Root Sr. and Tyre D. Townsend Jr., both of Interlachen; a sister, Frances Hatton of Macon, Ga.; two brothers, Charles Oscar Bass and Carl. L. Bass, both of Macon; and four grandchildren.

Bessie L. Joyner

HIGH SPRINGS - Bessie L. Joyner, a longtime resident of High Springs, died Saturday at North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center. She was 76.

Mrs. Joyner was a retired cook and a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Joyner; a daughter, Charlene Joyner; and a son, Sloan Joyner.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula J. Simmons of LaCrosse and Teresa Joyner of High Springs; a son, Jermiah Joyner of Germany; an adopted son, Shawn Donaldson of High Springs; two sisters, Clydia Mae White and Wally Frances Patterson of Boynton Beach; three brothers, Johnny C. Albritton and Onley Albritton of High Springs and Willie Clyde Albritton of Gainesville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Josephine Aurelia Swartley Huss

Josephine Aurelia Swartley Huss of Lancaster, Pa., died at her home Wednesday. She was 90.

A Pennsylvania native, Mrs. Huss lived in Gainesville for 20 years before returning to Lancaster in 1996. She was a registered nurse and a member of Creekside Community Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Christine J. Christgau of Carolstream, Ill.; two sons, Robert C. Huss Jr. of Glenn Mills, Pa., and Walter S. Huss of Ephrata, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

James Herbert Inscoe

LAKE BUTLER - James Herbert Inscoe of Lake Butler died Saturday at the Ramadan Hand Institute in Lake Butler following a sudden illness. He was 57.

Mr. Inscoe was born in Huntington, W.Va., and lived in Florida for most of his life. He moved to Lake Butler in 1997.

He was a retired U.S. Postal Service mail carrier and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah A. Inscoe of Lake Butler; two daughters, Melanie Donatt of Lansdale, Pa., and Kelly Randolph of England; a stepdaughter, Shirley Blake of Dowagiac, Mich.; a sister, Shirley Blake of Lantana; three brothers, Clayton Inscoe Jr. and Raymond Inscoe, both of Ohio, and Bobby Inscoe of Huntington; and five grandchildren.

Lillie Pearle Henderson Jones

LAKE BUTLER - Lillie Pearle Henderson Jones died Tuesday at her residence in Lake Butler following a lingering illness. She was 66.

Mrs. Jones was born in Chipley and moved to Lake Butler from Perrine in 1955.

She was a homemaker and a member of Crusaders for Christ Church in Alachua.

Survivors include four daughters, Jessica Williams of Daytona Beach, and Cynthia Holland, Regina Bass and Leslie Lee, all of Lake Butler; six sons, Mathis Jackson, James Jones, Alvin Jones and Rico Lee, all of Lake Butler, Gregory Jones of Brooker and Graylon Jones of Jasper; nine sisters, Minnie Davis of Plainfield, N.J., Mable Green, Elizabeth Jordan, Everlena Henderson, Emma Henderson, Rosetta Henderson-Warren, Alma Stephens, Thorsha Henderson and Margaret Henderson, all of Lake Butler; eight brothers, Woodrow Holmes of Pensacola, Ben Henderson of Clearwater, George Henderson and the Rev. Grady Henderson, both of Daytona Beach, Clifford Henderson of Waylon, N.Y., Eddie Henderson of South Carolina and Willie Lee Henderson Sr. and Leroy Henderson, both of Lake Butler; 34 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Charles Leonard Pennington

Charles Leonard "Lee" Pennington of Trenton died Tuesday in St. Augustine. He was 22.

Mr. Pennington was born in Gainesville and moved to Trenton from Alachua 3 years ago.

He was employeed by Subway.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Ceanna Rascan of Gainesville; his mother, Kay Pennington of Trenton; a sister, Sara Pennington of Trenton; his maternal grandparents, Marcile and Robert Sansbury of Trenton; an aunt, Norma Plemmons of Trenton; an uncle, Ted Pennington of West Palm Beach; and three cousins, Robert Price, Charlotte Price and Christ Sansbury, all of Trenton.

Mary Jane Wainwright

KINGSLEY LAKE - Mary Jane Wainwright of Kingsley Lake died Tuesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 60.

Mrs. Wainwright was born in Crowder, Miss., and moved to Kingsley Lake 40 years ago.

She was a Baptist and a check station operator for the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission.

Survivors include her husband, Donald C. Wainwright of Kingsley Lake; three daughters, Malinda Brown of Vidalia, La., Kathy Crews of Kingsley Lake and Kathy Long of Sanderson; two sons, James Clayton Rodgers Jr. of Transylvania, La., and Jeffrey Wainwright of Florida City; a sister, Ethel Baird of Mississippi; three brothers, Leslie Owens of Mississippi, and Rosco and Nathan Owens of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jackie Sue Roberts Walker

DOWLING PARK - Jackie Sue Roberts Walker of Dowling Park died Aug. 8 at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park. She was 94.

A Tennessee native, Mrs. Walker lived in Gainesville for 46 years before moving to Dowling Park in 1994.

She worked as a University of Florida librarian for 37 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served as church librarian. She was a founding member of the Association for Retarded Citizens. Mrs. Walker graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers in 1932. She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Walker II; and a son, William M. Walker III.

She is survived by three nieces.

Leona A. Butler

Leona A. Butler of Newberry died Friday in Gainesville. She was 53.

Mrs. Butler was born in Gainesville and was a lifetime resident. She worked at Santa Fe Community College and attended First Baptist Church of Newberry.

Survivors include her parents, Richard "Dick" Underwood and June Underwood of Gainesville; one son, Robert Allan Butler of Jonesville; maternal grandmother, Irma Fowler Martin of Hawthorne; two brothers, Richard D. Underwood Jr. of Gainesville and Dennis Keith Underwood of Hawthorne; one sister, Alfarata Marie Thompson of Kershaw, S.C.; and two grandchildren.

Steve Bishop Cullen

ALACHUA -- Steve Bishop Cullen of Alachua died Friday in Gainesville following an extended illness. He was 91.

Mr. Cullen was born in Alachua and was a lifelong resident.

He was a farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church of Alachua.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
