Michael L. Couts, 52, of N. Ft. Myers died September 15, 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rhonda, 2 sons; Joshua (Tonya) Couts, Nathan Couts, mother, Barbara Couts, sister Mindy (Tim) Nicholson, and brother Mark (Amy) Couts.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2004, 2:00 PM at McGregor Baptist Church. The family would prefer memorial contributions to Hope Hospice or ALS Association.

James P. Guthrie, 72, of N. Ft. Myers, died September 14, 2004. Born in Independence, MO, he went to N. Ft. Myers 20 years ago from Steelville, MO. Mr. Guthrie was a veteran of the US Navy. He also loved hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Janie Guthrie of N. Ft. Myers; children, Charles Lloyd (Rebecca) Guthrie of St. James, MO, Lisa Faye Hutchins of Collinwood, TN, Jon Phillip Guthrie of Steelville, MO, Vickie Jean Stagner of Villa Ridge, MO; step-children, Tammy Jo Parsons of Denton, TX, Janiemae (Michael) Sturgeon of Valley Cottage, NY; Paul A. (Stephanie) Lyman of Plainfield, IL, Arthur P. (Robin) Lyman of Cape Coral, Paula A. Mathis of Denton, TX and Paulette E. (Timothy) Barrett of Denton, TX. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be celebrated Friday, September 17, 2004 at 3:00 PM Tice United Methodist Church, 4545 Tice St., Ft. Myers, FL 33905. Burial will be private at a later date. Arrangements by N. Ft. Myers Memorial Funeral Home, (239) 995-1113.

James Lee Hemphill, age 79, of N. Ft. Myers died suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 14. Born June 1, 1925 in Florence, AL.
Survived by his loving devoted wife Frankie, son Dan (Jeri) of Arcadia, daughters Connie Hemphill, N. Ft. Myers & Carole (Rick) Parker of N. Ft. Myers, granddaughters; Tracey Gambill, Nashivlle, TN, Robin (Rob) Schmidt, GA, Amanada Jill (Joe) Elworthy, Ft. Myers, Krissy Martin, Cape Coral, and grandsons; Toby (Judy) Gambill, Shelbyville, TN, Clint (Lyn) Hemphill, Cape Coral, Jason (Vickie) Martin, Chester, VA, Matt (Jen) Martin, Cape Coral and 8 great-grandchildren.
Lee was a decorated WWII Navy veteran while serving in the South Pacific on a 'Tin Can'.

'Wave On Old Glory'

Mary V. Howard, 75, of Fort Myers, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2004 in Burlingame, California. She had resided in the Fort Myers area for 13 years. Mary was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church,and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Guild of the Knights of Columbus council #2596. Mary was an avid reader, and especially loved travelling to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years,John J. Howard in 2000.
Surviving are her four children: John D. (Diane) Howard, Daniel J. (Renee) Howard, Patrick D. (Lee Ann) Howard,and Marybeth Howard; and was the loving grandmother of Melissa, Amanda, Mary Alice, John, Heather, Daniel, David,and Laura.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 18,2004 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation,1440 West Washington Blvd., Chicago, Illinois 60607.

Craig D. Randall, of Ft. Lauderdale died on Sept. 14, 2004 after a long terminal illness.
Craig is survived by his wife Cherie, additional survivors include his mother Edwina, brother Charles Randall, sister Jean (Tim) Voll, niece Christine Valle, mother-in-law Jean H. Hoffman, brother-in-law Gregory Hoffman as well as many close friends.
He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or The American Diabetes Association. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 18th at St. Coleman's Catholic Church, 1200 South Federal Highway, Pompano, FL.

Virginia Ross died Sept. 12, 2004. A memorial service will be held Sept. 24, 2:00 PM at Ft. Myers Beach American Legion. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to Bay Pines Hospital.

Mamie Stoss Rowlett, 80, of Colonial Heights, VA, died Wednesday September 15, 2004 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John and Lillie Blazek Stoss, and the widow of Cleveland P. Rowlett. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Stoss. Mrs. Rowlett retired after 17 years as a sales associate with Sears Department Store in Petersburg, and then moved to Florida with her husband, where they enjoyed traveling and raising orchids. She was a member of Gary's United Methodist Church in Prince George.
Mrs. Rowlett is survived by two daughters; Karen R. Collier and husband Ned of Prince George, VA, Diane R. Adams and husband Eddie of Colonial Heights, VA, and a son Michael C. Rowlett of Prince George VA; grandchildren, Greg Collier, Theresa Collier, Michelle Newton, Adam Newton, Stephanie Adams, Johnathan Adams, Elizabeth Adams, Logan Rowlett; two great-grandchildren, Daniel Parton, and Madelyn Gilson; one brother John F. Stoss and wife Marylyn and a sister, Georgia Heretick and husband Julius all of Florida.
A memorial service will be held 6:00 P.M. on Monday evening September 20, 2004 at Gary's United Methodist Church 13501 Sunnybrook Rd. Prince George, VA 23805, with the Rev. Cosslett officiating. An inurnment service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday September 21, 2004 in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, VA In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Gary's United Methodist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are being handled by the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights.

Kay Ciminello of Ft. Myers, FL passed away peacefully at sunset Friday, September 17, 2004 with her husband and children by her side. She was born December 28, 1935 in Columbus, OH the daughter of the late Richard and Monica Knipfer.
Survived by Joseph her loving husband of forty-seven years, children Lisa (Tim) Ryan, Maria (Frank) Bucci, Joseph (Michele) and Mark (Renee) Ciminello, eleven grandchildren, Jennifer, Timmy, Natalia, Sean, Nicole, Leah, Anthony, Cara, Paolo, Maressa and Gabrielle, siblings, Mary Rita Paskell, Richard Knipfer, Sister Monica Marie, Judy Balson, Teresa (Mike) Cherup, Margaret Ayres and Monica (Rich) Merkel, her mother-in-law Josephine Ciminello, brother-in-law Louis (Chris) Ciminello, sisters-in-law Annette (Pete) Knox and Mary Lou Galecki, wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing, funeral Mass and entombment were held in Columbus, OH. Arrangements entrusted to the John Quint Treboni Funeral Home, 1177 West Fifth Ave., Columbus, OH 43212. The family expresses their warmest gratitude to the priests, physicians, especially Dr. Buss, her heart surgeon and the health caregivers and nurses at the ICU Unit at Lee Memorial HealthPark. In honor of Kay, donations may be made to The Holy Family School Tuition Fund, 484 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215.

Jerry M. DeBono, 53, of Ft. Myers Beach (his favorite place on earth) passed away Sunday, September 19, 2004. He was born April 4, 1951 in Detroit, MI to Anthony (late) and Florence DeBono.
He is survived by his loving Marcia, his son Michael (mother Charlotte) and his three grandchildren; Michael, Austin and Jenna of Utica, MI and his son Gerald Sean (mother Betty) of Livermore, CA. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law Anthony Jr., Albert and Cheryl, Chuck and Sue, Don and Gia and his many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday September 22, 2004 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 3751 Estero Blvd., Ft. Myers Beach, 33931 (239) 463-4251. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Yana Foundation Inc., in the mane of Jerry DeBono, 1185 Lake McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers (239) 481-2539.

Harry Akin Irvine, age 65, went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2004. He was born to Harry Archie Irvine and Elizabeth Anne Akin (aka L. Marie Cahal), in Greenville, Mississippi on June 4, 1938.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Irvine of Ft. Myers, sons Harry and wife JinHee Irvine of Dumfries, VA; John and wife Carolyn Irvine of Reston, VA; daughter Kathleen and husband David Smith of Ft. Myers, FL; five grandchildren; Robert, David and Benjamin Smith; Harry Koo and Hannah Koo Irvine; brother Cecil and wife Gayle Irvine of Shreveport, LA; uncle Ray Hagerwood of Chapmansboro, TN.
Harry was retired from the News-Press in 1998 after 19 years as Plant Engineer. He was also the President of the Sons of the American Revolution for the past three years. Harry was preceded in death by both of his parents and his son Robert.
The viewing will be held at 6-8 PM on Thursday, September 23, at Lee Memorial Park on Hwy 82 and the services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, Sept. 24. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given in his memory to the Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund.

Lane Adams Jones, 73, of Cape Coral passed away Tuesday September 7, 2004.
Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 PM Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the Trinity Community Church, 2756 McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Abundant Grace Fellowship, 19681 Summerlin Rd., Lot 71, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.

Robert W. Kidd, 84 of Ligonier, IN and Naples, FL passed away Sept. 19, 2004.
Survivors include sons; Charles W. (Chloe) Kidd, Ligonier, John R. (Christine) Kidd, Las Vegas, Christopher (Angie) Kidd, Ligonier and daughters; Deborah (Greg) Knepp, Ligonier, Julia (Kevin) Fenner, Naperville, and Jan (Jim) Boeglin, Bonita Springs.
Service on Sept. 24, 11:00 AM at Ligonier United Methodist Church, calling hours Thursday from 2-8 PM, also at the church. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Relay for Life.

Lambert F. 'Bud' Kuhr, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Sept. 19, 2004. A 10 year resident of Lehigh Acres, Bud served his country in the US Naval Reserve for 23 years. He served God as Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church for over 25 years and was well known to parishioners both in Saginaw, Michigan and at St. Raphael's Parish in Lehigh Acres. His spirit will be carried in the hearts and minds of Harriet, his wife of 53 years, and his five children and their families; Mary Kay Cassani, Rick Kuhr.
A wake service for Bud will be held at Anderson Funeral Home of Lehigh Acres on Wednesday, September 22, at 7 PM. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Lehigh Acres on Thursday, Sept. 23, at 10 AM, followed by internment in the Veteran's section of Lee Memorial Park. IN lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Hope Hospice of Ft. Myers in honor of their care for Bud in his last hours. Arrangements by Anderson Funeral Home of Lehigh Acres, 2701 Lee Blvd.
