Shirley Annett Sparkman
Shirley Annett Sparkman of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at AGH. She was 55.
Mrs. Sparkman was born in Brooksville and moved to Gainesville from Tampa in 1953.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two brothers, Walter Sparkman and Herbert Sparkman, both of Tampa.
Joanne Taylor
FORT MCCOY -- Joanne Taylor died Thursday at her residence in Fort McCoy. She was 41.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Palatka and moved to Fort McCoy in 1979.
She was a pet groomer.
Survivors include her mother, Gwendolyn Gillette of Fort White; two sisters, Susan Emmons of Palatka and Essie Austin of Tequesta; two brothers, Jimmy Taylor of Hollister and David Taylor of Interlachen; a half-sister, Ruth Priest of Jacksonville; and a half-brother, Jerry Taylor of Brooksville.
Elsie Olivia Campbell
CEDAR KEY -- Elsie Olivia Campbell of Cedar Key died Friday at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton. She was 88.
Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker.
She was born in Montbrook and moved from Marco Island to Cedar Key 52 years ago.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Order of the Eastern Star in Chiefland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Campbell.
Survivors include four brothers, J.C. Collins of Cedar Key, J.W. Collins of Alven, Texas, Joseph Collins of Arcadia, Texas, and David Collins of Seabrook, Texas; and three sisters, Ansey Hammers of McKinleyville, Calif., Lou Nell Louhan of Friendwood, Texas, and Gwendlyn Farmer of Pearland, Texas.
Rex R. Martin
Rex R. Martin of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. He was 63.
Mr. Martin retired from construction work at Shands at the University of Florida.
He was born in New Boston, Ohio, and moved from Warren, Ohio, to Gainesville 11 years ago.
Mr. Martin enjoyed restoring old automobiles. He was a member of Gainesville Street Rods Club.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Martin of Gainesville; a daughter, Teresa Nevinskicq of Gainesville; his mother, Carrie Burchett Martin of Starke; and a sister, Joann Kirkland of Sharpsville, Pa.
Antonia T. Guider
Antonia T. Guider of Gainesville died March 29 at Shands at AGH following a sudden illness. He was 21.
Mr. Guider was born in Indianola, Miss., and moved to Gainesville 18 years ago.
He was an employee of the Association for Retarded Citizens and a member of the Church of God of Deliverance.
Survivors include his mother, Rosie Lee Guider of Gainesville; his father, Arthur Lee Millsbrooks of Inverness, Miss.; three brothers, Terry T. Guider of Dallas, Derric B. Carter of Gainesville and Sander Denton of Inverness; a stepsister, Shonta Johnson of Inverness; and a foster sister, Alexis Perry of Gainesville.
Earnestine Bainbridge Hunter
Earnestine Bainbridge Hunter of Gainesville died Monday at Shands at AGH following an extended illness. She was 71.
Mrs. Hunter was born in Ocala and moved to Gainesville 60 years ago.
She was an operator for Southern Bell for five years.
She graduated from Gainesville High School.
Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Hunter.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Hunter of Gainesville and Bobbie Jo Hunter of Seattle; a son, Patrick Hunter of Bonita Springs; two sisters, Martha Bainbridge of Daytona Beach and Earlene Holton of Atlantic Beach; two brothers, Raymond Bainbridge of Gainesville and Wayne Bainbridge of Daytona Beach; and three grandchildren.
Ella Mae Rome Lindsey
TRENTON -- Ella Mae Rome Lindsey of Trenton died at North Florida Regional Medical Center on March 30 of a sudden illness. She was 34.
She was born in Gainesville and moved to Trenton from Jacksonville in 1999.
Mrs. Lindsey worked as a cashier at Trenton High School. She was a 1984 graduate of Chiefland High School and attended Lake City Community College.
She was a member of the New Jerusalem Church of God in Chiefland.
Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband, George Randolph Lindsey of Trenton; a son, Randall Lindsey of Trenton; her father, James Rome of Chiefland; five brothers, James R. Rome of Trenton, Frank Rome of Lakeland, Michael Rome and Jermaine Rome, both of Chiefland, and Calvin Rome of McIntosh; and two sisters, Ella Marie McGary of Lake Alfred and Sylvia Rome of Chiefland.
John L. Jett
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS -- John L. Jett of Keystone Heights died Tuesday following a brief illness. He was 84.
Mr. Jett was born in Floyd, Va., and moved to Keystone Heights from Valdosta, Ga., in 1973.
He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 31 years.
He was a member and past president of the Keystone Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Eugenie R. Jett of Keystone Heights; two sons, John C. Jett and Robert L. Jett, both of Ocala; a sister, Sara Taylor of Niceville; a brother, Samuel S. Jett Jr. of Midlothian, Va.; and two grandchildren.

Christine Hodgens Neil
Christine Hodgens Neil of Gainesville died Wednesday at Shands at the University of Florida. She was 78.
Mrs. Neil was born in Chelsea, Ala., and moved to Gainesville from Arlington, Va., 28 years ago.
She was a homemaker and a foster grandmother for Head Start in Gainesville.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Pla of Gainesville; a brother, Walter Hodgens of Virginia; and three grandchildren, Garland Pla, Alexandra Pla and Andrew Pla, all of Gainesville, whom she reared.
Joseph Silas Jones
Joseph Silas Jones of Miami died March 30 at his home following a short illness. He was 75.
Mr. Jones was a native of LaCrosse and had lived in Miami for 48 years. He was a tile setter.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Brown of Miami; two daughters, Gwendolyn Bennett of Alachua and Cathy Wright of Willingboro, N.J.; eight sons, Alex Jones of Orlando, Ronald Brown of Perry, Marvin Brown of Gainesville, Ricky Brown of Miami, Christopher Brown of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Edward Brown, Daryl Brown and Michael Brown, all of Miami; six sisters, Daisy Johnson and Naomi Griffin, both of Jacksonville, Theresa Dixon of LaCrosse and Julia Keys, Betty Mingo and Ida Johnson, all of Miami; two brothers, Samuel Jones of Jacksonville and Ernest Jones of Dublin, Ga.; 42 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Mary Ruth Sheppard
Mary Ruth Sheppard of Peachtree City, Ga., died Wednesday. He was 85.
Mrs. Sheppard was born in Sylacauga, Ala., and lived in Gainesville before moving to Peachtree City, Ga., in 1995.
She was an employee of Belk Lindsey and a member of the North Central Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Sheppard; and a son, Lindsey Sheppard.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara S. Merget of Newnan, Ga., and Yvonne Gustin of Savannah; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Marvin Mark Scott
CHIEFLAND -- Marvin Mark Scott, a lifelong resident of Chiefland, died Monday in an automobile accident. He was 20.
Mr. Scott was a student at Tallahassee Community College, and he attended Chiefland High School.
He was a member of the True Gospel Mission Church, where he served as youth minister, the Youth Choir director and assistant director of the Adult Choir Minister of Music.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Rutha Scott of Chiefland; a sister, Miriam Monice Scott of Chiefland; and three brothers, Robert A. Scott of Gainesville and Fran G. Scott and Kendrick P. Scott, both of Tallahassee.
Clark K. Williams
HAWTHORNE -- Clark K. Williams, a lifelong resident of Hawthorne, died from gunshot wounds March 30. He was 36.
Mr. Williams was a handyman. He graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1983.
He was a member of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Essie Mae Moore of Hawthorne; his stepmother, Martha Williams of Hawthorne; five brothers, Elijah Williams Sr. of Orlando, Carl E. Williams of Putnam Hall, Earl Williams Jr. and Cedric Williams, both of Hawthorne, and Willie Williams of Gainesville; and a stepbrother, Jerome Anderson of Hawthorne.
