Nancy O. Coleman

Nancy O. Coleman of Gainesville died Tuesday in Gainesville. She was 81.

Mrs. Coleman was born in New York City and moved to Gainesville from Miami in 1985.

She was a waitress and a Catholic.

She is survived by her friend and caretaker, Carolyn Jean Norton of Gainesville.

Lesley Charles Shoemaker Corbin

Lesley Charles Shoemaker Corbin of Jacksonville was found dead Saturday in Jacksonville. He was 37.

The Gainesville native is survived by a son, Andrer C.S. Corbin of Jacksonville; his mother, Ann Shoemaker Corbin of Gainesville; his father, Louis Clayton of Jacksonville; and a sister, Coralee Corbin of Gainesville.

Sybil S. Fertitta

HAWTHORNE -- Sybil S. Fertitta of Hawthorne died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 78.

Mrs. Fertitta was born in Montreal and moved to Hawthorne from Lauderhill last year.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Philip Neri.

Survivors include three granddaughters, Virginia Dannenhoffer of Hawthorne, Christine Gordon of Indianapolis and Kim Gordon of Gary, Ind.; a grandson, Robert Fertitta of Astoria, N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Dannenhoffer, Andrew Dannenhoffer and Jonathan Dannenhoffer, all of Hawthorne.

William A. Hall

GRAHAM -- William A. Hall of Graham died Monday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 57.

Mr. Hall was a lifelong resident of Bradford County.

He was employed with the University of Florida maintenance department.

He was educated through the Bradford County school system.

Mr. Hall was a Baptist.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Hall of Graham; two sons, David Hall of San Diego and Tracy Hall of Starke; and a brother, James Hall of Keystone Heights.

Cecile Louise Hart

MAYO -- Cecile Louise Hart of Mayo died Monday at Lafayette Health Care in Mayo. She was 90.

Mrs. Hart was born in Lake City, S.C., and moved to Mayo in 1928.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mayo, where she was a 50-year member of the United Methodist Women.

She was a schoolteacher in Lafayette County for 28 years.

Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Cleo Hart Sr.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Cleo and Doty Hart Jr. of Mayo; a sister, Ethylene Hill of Lake City; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Julia Dee Hooten

Julia Dee Hooten of Orlando died Monday in Orlando. She was 67.

The former Raiford native and Archer resident is survived by five brothers, Edwin Scott of Hawthorne, and Neil C. Scott, Truman D. Scott, George D. Scott and Bruce J. Scott, all of Starke; and a sister, Edwina F. Willis of Orlando.

Michael Johns Sr.

LIVE OAK -- Michael Johns Sr. of Live Oak died Thursday in Tallahassee. He was 39.

He was a plumber, a Baptist and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Johns of Live Oak; a daughter, Michaela Johns of Live Oak; a son, Michael G. Johns Jr. of Live Oak; three sisters, Carol Johnson and Jennifer Warner, both of Live Oak, and Darlene Roger of Dadeville, Ala.; a brother, Terry Johns of Alex City, Ala.; and his parents, Monroe Johns and Nelda Bowers of Live Oak.

Mildred H. McCurdy

Mildred H. McCurdy of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 93.

The Ohio native was a homemaker and a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of East Cleveland.

Survivors include two daughters, Constance R. Meyer and Kathleen Davis; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Ira Ray

CEDAR KEY -- Ira Ray of Cedar Key died Monday at Oakview Rehabilitation Center in Williston. He was 78.

Mr. Ray was born in Manatee County and moved to Cedar Key from Jacksonville 40 years ago.

He was a retired ship builder and a Protestant.

Survivors include a sister, Annette Ray of Leesville, La.

Emma Lee Burch

Emma Lee "Billie" Burch, a lifelong resident of Alachua County, died Tuesday at her residence in Gainesville. She was 99.

Mrs. Burch was a homemaker, a businesswoman and a graduate of Florida State College for Women, where she was a life member of the Alumni Association.

Mrs. Burch was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a charter and 50-year member of the Gainesville Women's Club and a charter member of the Gainesville Garden Club Dog Wood Circle. She donated a home to the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens, which has housed its offices and gift shop for more than 20 years.

She was the widow of Ernest W. Burch Sr.

Survivors include two daughters, Jacqulyn V. Moore of Bossier City, La., and Judyth L. Cox of Winter Park; a son and daughter-in-law, E.W. "Buddy" and Amy E. Burch Jr. of Gainesville; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jean MacClellan Crane

HAWTHORNE -- Jean MacClellan Crane of Hawthorne died Tuesday in Palatka. She was 89.

Mrs. Crane was born in Johnston, S.C., and moved to Hawthorne in 1954.

She was a secretary for Crane Motor Co. and a member of Highlands Presbyterian Church, the Business and Professional Women's Club and the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Mrs. Crane was preceded in death by two husbands, Donald Thomas MacClellan Sr. and James Robert Crane.

Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Ann Sears of Simpsonville, Ky., Kathleen Purcell of Annapolis, Md., and Myra Jill Barker Busch of Hawthorne; two sons, Donald Thomas MacClellan of Pomona Park and George Edward MacClellan of Palatka; a stepson, Lee Crane of Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Elsa J. Drake

Elsa J. Drake of Gainesville died Tuesday at Shands at the University of Florida following a brief illness. She was 56.

Mrs. Drake was born in East Stroudsburg, Pa., and moved to Gainesville from Philadelphia in 1968.

She was a retired graphic artist in the College of Engineering at UF. She received several accolades for her publications, including the Word of Excellence, the Golden Gator and the Gold Ozzie.

She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the Philadelphia College of Arts.

Mrs. Drake was an Episcopalian.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, John Neely of Gainesville; a daughter, Jessica M. Pakdee of Gainesville; two stepsons, John M. Neely and David R. Neely, both of Glen, N.H.; her mother, Marian S. Drake of Delaware Water Gap, Pa.; and a sister, Marianne D. Berryman of Canadensis, Pa.

Reginald Duncan

HIGH SPRINGS -- Reginald Duncan died May 10 at North Florida Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was 55.

Mr. Duncan was born in High Springs and graduated from A.L. Mebane High. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his mother, Christine Kelly of High Springs; father and stepmother, Otto and Altemease Duncan of High Springs; four brothers, James Kelly, Lacey Kelly and Ronald Duncan, all of Gainesville, and Joseph Kelly, of High Springs; and four sisters, Sharon Dilworth of Lakeland, Shirley Harris of High Springs, Ginger Dye, of White Springs and Debra Jones of Lake Butler.
