Johnqueze M. Bedford

ALACHUA - Johnqueze M. Bedford died at birth Tuesday at Shands at the University of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Latasha Lee and John Bedford, Johnqueze is survived by a sister, Kenyata Keith of Alachua; grandparents Charles and Ola Lee of Alachua; and great-grandparents Ola Mae and Johnny Curtis of Alachua.

Alonza Boatwright Jr.

HIGH SPRINGS - Alonza Boatwright Jr. died Tuesday at Gainesville Health Care Center following an extended illness. He was 56.

Mr. Boatwright was born in Lamont and raised in High Springs. He lived in Tampa for four years before returning to High Springs two years ago.

He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the 34th Street Church of God in Tampa, where he served as Sunday School superintendent and as a member of the Board of Christian Education. He organized Mime, a Christian-based drama group for boys.

Survivors include his mother, Idella Dunbar; a brother, Russell Hill; sisters Ruthie Moore of High Springs, Maxine Woodside of Tampa, Brenda James and Ester Thomas, both of High Springs, and Connie Griffin of Fort White.

Dorothy Freeman Cole

Dorothy Freeman Cole of Bowling Green, Ky., died Tuesday in Kentucky. She was 91.

Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and a member of Forest Park Baptist Church.

Local survivors include a son, Dr. Maurice F. Cole of Gainesville.

John Joseph Gerrity

CHIEFLAND - John Joseph Gerrity died Monday. He was 63.

Mr. Gerrity was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Chiefland this year.

He was retired from the Long Island Railroad. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Gerrity.

Survivors include a daughter, Colleen Steponatis of Commack, N.Y.; a sister, Margaret Shay of Chiefland; and three grandchildren.

Gerald M. Holcomb

Gerald M. Holcomb of Gainesville died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 61.

Mr. Holcomb was born in Fallston, Md., and moved to Gainesville from Baltimore in 1986.

He was a lapidarist with the Gem Cutters Guild of Baltimore and the American Mineralogical Society. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fallston.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Holcomb of Gainesville; a stepdaughter, Katie C. Shafer of Cross Creek; a stepson, Carl C. Culbreth of Rockledge; a brother, Ronald Holcomb of Elizabethtown, Ky.; six grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.

Robert Marion McRae

STARKE - Robert Marion McRae died Wednesday at his residence following a long illness. He was 75.

Mr. McRae was a lifelong resident of Bradford County. He was a retired supervisor with Clay Electric and a member of the Madison Street Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. McRae was a member of American Legion Post No. 56, the Bradford Masonic Lodge No. 35 and the Morocco Temple in Jacksonville.

Survivors include his wife, Gertie F. McRae of Starke; daughters Beverly McRae Shaw of Putnam, Conn., and Barbara McRae Brown of Keystone Heights; a son, Dewayne McRae of Starke; a brother, James E. McRae of Starke; a sister, Linda McRae Clark of Starke; seven grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Joe Dean Meadows

Joe Dean Meadows of Gainesville died Saturday at the Hospice House of North Central Florida following a brief illness. He was 40.

Mr. Meadows was born in Jasper and moved to Gainesville in 1964.

He was a sales clerk and a member of the Assembly Deliverance Church and First Assembly Holiness Church of God in Christ.

He graduated from Buchholz High School in 1980.

Survivors include a daughter, Dominique Ferguson-Meadows of Gainesville; a son, Joe D. Meadows Jr. of Gainesville; sisters Cora Robinson of Archer, Willie P. Thomas, Linda F. Mack, Janie Alston, Selma Meadows and Thelma Bell, all of Gainesville; and a brother, Michael D. Meadows of Gainesville.

Sarah Frances Radford

BRONSON - Sarah Frances Radford died Thursday in Ocala. She was 85.

Mrs. Radford was born in Union Point, Ga., and moved to Bronson from Daytona Beach 30 years ago. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading the Bible and gardening.

Mrs. Radford was preceded in death by a son, Gary Radford.

Survivors include a son, Jim Radford of Fort Lauderdale; a daughter, Dolores Jeanette Ayers of Lexington, N.C.; brothers Charles Humphery of Welaka and Bill Humpherycq of Titusville; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Richard Leroy Ruby

MELROSE - Richard Leroy Ruby died Wednesday. He was 42.

Mr. Ruby was born in Baltimore and moved to Melrose 26 years ago.

He worked in lawn maintenance.

Survivors include his mother, Marie Ruby of Melrose; a brother, Joseph Talbot Ruby of Melrose; and a sister, Robin Lynn Brower of Gainesville.

Jerome Spellman

Jerome Spellman died Thursday at his residence in Gainesville following a sudden illness. He was 75.

Mr. Spellman was born in New York City and moved to Gainesville from Cazenovia, N.Y., four years ago. He owned a dry-cleaning business.

Mr. Spellman served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Jill Spellman of Gainesville; daughters Nancy Coye of Syracuse, N.Y., and Lisa Alexander of Gainesville; and five grandchildren.

William S. Stout

William S. Stout of Gainesville died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Stout was born in Tompkins Cove, N.Y., and moved to Gainesville from Malone, N.Y., in 1975.

He was a retired assistant postmaster and a member of the United Church of Gainesville. He was also a member of the Northern Constellation Masonic Lodge F & AM in Malone, N.Y., and the Shrine Media Temple in Watertown, N.Y. He was a patron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Malone. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Luella Stout of Gainesville; a son, William R. Stout of Massena, N.Y.; a daughter, Margo Kilbon of Tariffville, Conn.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
