Trudy Louise Pasley Green

Trudy Louise Pasley Green of Plant City died Thursday at the Health Center of Plant City. She was 92.

The Georgia native was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Local survivors include a son, Wayne Green of Gainesville.

James Copeland

CROSS CITY - James "Claude" Copeland died Thursday in Gainesville as a result of Lou Gehrig's disease. He was 65.

Mr. Copeland was born in Archer and moved to Cross City from Trenton in 1976.

He was a Baptist and a former route salesman for Merita Bread, where he worked for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife, Kathey Copeland of Cross City; daughters Sue Dunnam, Jana O'Neal, Chris Lord and Regina Marsh, all of Cross City; a son, Claude Copeland Jr. of Cross City; his mother, Pearlie M. Holt of Gainesville; a brother, Paul Copeland of Keystone Heights; a half-sister, Imogene Ingersoll of Gainesville; half-brothers Bobby Holt of Hawthorne and Paul Martin of Fort Myers; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mae Brusven Miller

LOCATION - Mae Amelia Brusven Miller of Gainesville died Wednesday at her residence. She was 79.

Mrs. Miller was born in Boiling Springs, Pa., and lived in Harrisburg, Pa., and Woodbridge, Va., before moving to Gainesville in 1979. She was a former ballet instructor and dancer. She was also a homemaker. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed poetry.

Survivors include daughters Karolyn Miller of Fairfax, Va., Dr. Patricia Sullivan of Gainesville and Victoria Powell of Woodbridge, Va.; sons Robert Miller of Saudi Arabia, Joseph Miller of Trenton and Christopher Miller of Gainesville; and three grandchildren.

Patsy Sherrill Parra

LOCATION - Patsy Sherrill Parra of Gainesville died Thursday in Adventura. She was 66.

Mrs. Parra was born in Cramerton, N.C., and moved to Gainesville in 1969.

She was a dispatcher for Energizer Power Systems.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Louise Parra of Gainesville; sons Ricky Parra of Hollywood and Michael Parra of London, England; and a sister, Barbara Eller of Gainesville.

Leone M. Dauvergne

HIGH SPRINGS - Leone Maclean Dauvergne died Thursday in High Springs Health Care Center. She was 89.

Mrs. Dauvergne was born in Minneapolis and moved to High Springs from New York in 1992.

She was a retired school teacher and a graduate of Smith College in North Hampton, Mass.

She spoke French, Spanish, German and Italian.

Mrs. Dauvergne was a past president of the Baldwin Bird Association in Baldwin, N.Y., a life master in bridge, and an active member in the Nature Conservancy and the Mycological Society.

She was a member of a Unitarian Universalist Church on Long Island in New York.

Survivors include a daughter, Jackie McCracken of Gainesville; a son, John Dauvergne of Ottawa, Canada; four grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.

Carrie Eland

MELROSE - Carrie Eland died Thursday at Shands at AGH. She was 88.

Mrs. Eland was born in Milligan and moved to Melrose from Pensacola about 50 years ago.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Homemakers Club and Women's Club.

She also was a member of Eliam Baptist Church in Melrose.

She loved to fish and holds several bass records for the area. She also loved to cook, bake and embroider.

Mrs. Eland was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Eland, in 1990.

Survivors include her son, James Donald Eland of Melrose; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Robert L. Moran

WILLISTON - Robert L. Moran died Thursday in North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Moran was born in Easton, Mass., and moved to Williston in 1982 from Gulfport.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Moran.

Survivors include his wife, Rena Moran of Williston; two sons, Donald Moran of Clearwater and Paul Moran of Lincoln, R.I.; two daughters, Roberta Devlin of Williston and Margaret Moran of Manchester, Conn.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Earl L. Rogers

Earl L. Rogers died Friday in North Florida Special Care Center.

He was 99.

Mr. Rogers was born in Ellijay, Ga., and moved to Gainesville from Ellijay in 1936. He was a retired Greyhound bus driver, a Master Mason of the R.T. Schafer Lodge 350, a Shriner and a 65-year member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Ernestine Chasteen, Bettye McMillan, MaryNell Wolz and Gail McMillan, all of Gainesville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and six step-great- great-grandchildren.

Gladys Schenk

BRONSON - Gladys Schenk died Thursday in St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y. She was 73.

Mrs. Schenk was born in New York City and moved to Bronson in 1982 from Rocky Point, N.Y. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bronson, the AARP, and Family and Community Educators, and she was a volunteer for the SHARE program.

She enjoyed volunteering and crocheting.

Survivors include two sons, Michael G. Schenk Jr. of Bronson and Arthur Schenk of Islip, N.Y.; three daughters, Gladys Collins of Wallkill, N.Y., Jean Jackson of East Islip, N.Y., and Penny Yannucci of Middletown, N.Y.; 22 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Emma T. Williams

Emma T. Williams died Saturday at Shands at AGH. She was 91.

Mrs. Williams was born in DeFuniak Springs and moved to Gainesville in 1936.

She was one of the first dieticians for Alachua County schools in the 1940s and was a member of North Central Baptist Church.

She loved to square dance, crochet and cook for her family.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Douglas McCallum, and two sons, James and Milfred McCallum.

Survivors include her husband, Herman B. Williams; a daughter, Betty Allen of Starke; a stepdaughter, Lila Torres of New York City; two sons, Howard McCallum of Gainesville and Charles McCallum of St. Augustine; a stepson, Roger Williams of Gainesville; a brother, Delmus Thorn of DeFuniak Springs; a sister, Thelma Broxton of Fort Walton Beach; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Luis M. Zelaya

Luis M. Zelaya died Thursday at Shands at AGH.

He was 79.

Mr. Zelaya was born in Leon, Nicaragua, and moved to Gainesville from Lake City in 1988.

He was an accountant.

Survivors include his wife, Olga Lucia Valladares; a son, Dr. Raul B. Zelaya of Lake City; a daughter, Ileana Canizares of Gainesville; three brothers, Carlos Manuel Icaza of Miami, Jose Ernesto Bendana of El Salvador and Adiziana Zelaya of California; and three grandchildren.
