John Stanley Fox
NEWBERRY -- John Stanley Fox of Newberry died in an automobile accident Tuesday. He was 18.
Mr. Fox was born in Colquitt County, Ga., and later moved to Newberry. He was employed with J & M Manufacturing Pipe Co. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his mother, Sonja Whittaker Fox of Newberry; his father, John David Fox of Gainesville; his grandmothers, Grace Hufsteller Whittaker of Moultrie, Ga., and Louise Porter of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Sabrina Star Fox of Newberry and Brenda Michelle Fox of Albany, Ga.; and a brother, Joseph Andrew Fox of Newberry.
Arthur Flowers Jr.
MELROSE -- Arthur Flowers Jr., a lifelong resident of Melrose, died March 17 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following a brief illness. He was 51.
Mr. Flowers was a caretaker and he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Holy Temple Church of God.
Survivors include a daughter, Latoya Wanton of Fort Hood, Texas; a son, Clifford Ivey of Keystone Heights; his parents, Rosa and Harvey Hutchinson of Melrose; 10 sisters, Rosemary McGollie, Rebecca G. Brown and Linda Stevenson, all of Melrose, Jacqueline Branton of Starke, Mamie Tucker of Archer, Linda A. Flowers, Pamela Flowers and Sherry Flowers, all of Gainesville, and Darlean Flowers and Dorean Flowers, both of Penney Farms; eight brothers, Harvey J. Hutchinson Jr., Johnny A. Hutchinson, Samuel Hutchinson, Sam Hutchinson, Eugene Hutchinson, Donald Hutchinson, all of Melrose, Arthur Ray Flowers of Gainesville and Rodney Flowers of Earleton; and four grandchildren.
Robert Elmore Gable
Robert Elmore Gable died Wednesday at his residence in Gainesville. He was 70.
Mr. Gable was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and moved to Gainesville from Memphis in 1985.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He attended Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Gable of Gainesville; a stepdaughter, Debbie Coleman of Archer; a stepson, Johnny Fox III of Orlando; his mother, Lorraine Gable of Memphis; five sisters, Joan Wallis and Janice Marshall, both of Bartlett, Tenn., Jeanette Palmer of Jacksonville, Jonnie Kesler of Ripley, Tenn., and Joyce Jolly of Olive Branch, Miss.
Carolyn Ruth Gayhart
ARCHER -- Carolyn Ruth Gayhart died Monday at her residence in Archer. She was 73.
Mrs. Gayhart was born in Wooton, Ky., and moved to Archer from Somerset, Ky., 12 years ago. She was a hairdresser and a Presbyterian.
Survivors include two daughters, Stacy Gayhart of Archer and Valarie Perry of Louisville, Ky.; two sisters, Ercel Maggard of Somerset, Ky., and Marie Huggins of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a brother, James Gayhart of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.
Giovani Linscheer
Giovanni Linscheer, a former University of Florida swim team member, died Sunday in an automobile accident. He was 27.
Mr. Linscheer was a native of Amsterdam.
After graduating from UF, he worked as a civil engineer with Kimley Horn and Associates.
He competed in the 1992 and 1996 Olympic Games.
Survivors include his parents, Sylvia and Theo Linscheer of Paramaribo, Suriname; a sister, Loreen Linscheer of Paramaribo; and a brother, Enrico Linscheer of Fort Lauderdale.
Bonita Nadine Green
NEWBERRY -- Bonita Nadine Green of Newberry died Wednesday at North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was 82.
Mrs. Green was born in Thomasville, Ga., and moved to Newberry from Cairo, Ga., in 1937.
She was a homemaker. She was member of the Gainesville Christian Women's Club and the First Baptist Church of Newberry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allison M. Green.
Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis G. Norfleet, Glenda G. Kelley and Cindy G. Bass, all of Newberry; three sons, Allison Gabriel Green of Archer, and Barry Lee Green and Donald Robert Green, both of Newberry; a sister, Mary Butler Rhodes of Gainesville; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may be made as donations to the Youth Fund at the First Baptist Church of Newberry or to the Hospice of North Central Florida.
Precious N. Green
Precious N. Green of Gainesville died March 17 in an automobile accident. She was 17.
Miss Green was born in Jacksonville and moved to Gainesville from Perry 13 years ago.
She was a student.
Survivors include a son, Emanuel Norman of Gainesville; her mother, Beatrice Foster of Gainesville; her father, Harold Bellamy of Palatka; her maternal grandmother, Dora Davis of Gainesville; her paternal grandmother, Amanda Bellamy of Palatka; six sisters, Maria Davis and Danielle Williams, both of Gainesville, and Dianne Bellamy, Jennifer Littles, Shirley Ann Bellamy and Laura Bellamy, all of Jacksonville; 10 brothers, Arthur Clayton, Brandon Green, Rodrikeus Foster, Herbert Green and Albert Green, all of Gainesville, and Wesley Bellamy, Norman Bellamy, John Green Jr., James Bellamy and Jerome Bellamy, all of Jacksonville.
Richard Burnside Hunt
Richard Burnside Hunt of Dade City died Friday at the Hospice House in Dade City. He was 66.
Mr. Hunt held various positions with International Minerals and Chemicals Corp., retiring in 1989 as vice president and general manager of the Industrial Chemical Division.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in agriculture. In 1979, he was recognized as an Outstanding Alumnus of the University of Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Mary-Jane Waters Hunt of Dade City; two daughters, Mary-Ellen Hunt Vian of Atlanta and Shirley Lynn Hunt Rickner of Tallahassee; two sons, Jess Daryl Hunt of Dade City and Robert Burnside Hunt of Gainesville; two sisters, Carol Hunt Cooper of Tampa and Barbara Hunt of Silver City, N.M.; and eight grandchildren.
Peter Joseph Laczko
WILLISTON -- Peter Joseph Laczko of Williston died Sunday at City View Care Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was 83.
Mr. Laczko was born in Cleveland and moved to Williston from Midland, Mich., 10 years ago.
He was a cold water chemist with Dow Chemical Co.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Williston Highlands Golf and County Club.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen Johnson of Forth Worth, Linda Shipley of Elizabeth City, N.C., Rose Mary Laczko of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Loretta Boelkins of Grapevine, Texas; a son, Richard P. Laczko of Williston; and 19 grandchildren.
James Henry Little
NEWBERRY -- James Henry Little of Newberry died Thursday at the Hospice House of Gainesville following an extended illness. He was 84.
Mr. Little was born in Conway, Ark., and moved to Newberry from Dayton, Ohio, in 1968.
He was an electrician and he served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 149 in Newberry.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Futch of Newberry and Jane Norton of St. Augustine; and three grandchildren.

John Milton Brownlee
John Milton Brownlee of Gainesville, a 1950s-era mayor-city commissioner and longtime business owner, was found drowned Tuesday at his pool. He was 85.
Mr. Brownlee had been ill for several months.
He owned and operated Brownlee Seed and Feed Co. for 43 years.
"Gainesville has lost one of its great people, " said M.M. Parrish, former schoolmate and local real estate agent. "He gave liberally of his time to see that other people lived well."
Mr. Brownlee was past president of the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville Kiwanis Club and the Alachua Riding Horse Association and was current president of the State Board of Directors of the Florida Rural Rehabilitation Corp.
He was born in Starke and moved to Gainesville more than 50 years ago. He was a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army and participated in the D-Day invasion on Normandy in World War II.
"He lost 63 men that day, " said Glynn Markham, fellow member of Gainesville's D-Day Normandy Club and owner of Rebel House Restaurant in Alachua. "I sat next to him when we went to see 'Saving Private Ryan.' It was a real sad movie; we could hardly stand to make it through."
Among the war decorations Mr. Brownlee received were two Silver Stars, two Purple Hearts and three Bronze Stars for Valor.
In a 1994 Gainesville Sun story on the 50th anniversary of D-Day, Mr. Brownlee was asked whether he thought he'd live to see D-Day from a 50-year perspective.
"Hell, I didn't think I was going to live to D-plus-one-day, " Mr. Brownlee had said. "You always think of some of the friends you lost, and then you think of some of your friends who were with you, what you went through, and I think about how lucky I was to get through it. It was luck, it was nothing but luck. It wasn't anything I did or anybody else did."
Mr. Brownlee graduated from Bradford High School and received his bachelor of science degree in agriculture and a master of science degree in entomology from the University of Florida, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity, Alpha Zeta professional fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi scholastic fraternity and the Scabbard and Blade Military Organization.
He was a charter member of Gator Boosters and was a member of the Board of Trustees at First United Methodist Church.
He was also a former member and chairman of the Santa Fe Community College Board of Trustees and was a former member of the Florida Turnpike Authority under Gov. Charley Johns.
He was a member of the First National Bank Board of Directors, the Cattleman's Association of Alachua County, the President's Council and the SHARE Council of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, both at the University of Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Madge Phinney Brownlee of Gainesville; a daughter, Catherine Brownlee Smeltzer of Roanoke, Va.; a son, John M. Brownlee Jr. of Orlando; two stepdaughters, Janet Allen of Beavercreek, Ohio, and Carol Shoup of Martin, Tenn.; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Terry L. Gaskins Andrews
STARKE - Terry L. Gaskins Andrews of Starke died Monday in Clay County from injuries received in an automobile accident Monday. She was 35.
Mrs. Andrews was a data processor for MCI in Lake Butler.
She was a lifelong resident of Starke.
Mrs. Andrews was attending school at Santa Fe Community College to become a registered nurse.
She was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke.
Survivors include her husband, Larry D. Andrews of Starke; two sons, Grady Johnson and Dillon Johnson, both of Starke; a stepson, Luke Andrews of Starke; a stepdaughter, Kara Andrews of Starke; her parents, Willard F. and Claudine Gaskins of Starke; a brother, Timmy Gaskins of Starke; and a sister, Sherri Bowen of Starke.
