Geraldine M. Tibbs
Geraldine M. Tibbs, formerly of Montgomery, Ala., died Thursday at Hospice House of Gainesville of natural causes. She was 78.
Born in Bellamy, Ala., she moved from Satellite Beach to Montgomery, Ala. eight years ago and then to Gainesville in March.
She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Albert A. Tibbs Jr.
Mrs. Tibbs is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Tibbs of Gainesville and Albert A. Tibbs III of Indian Harbor Beach; a daughter, Suzanne D. Tibbs of Montgomery, Ala., ; two brothers, Russell McGhee of Denver, Colo., and Leroy McGhee of Greensboro, Ala.; a sister, Lois hall of Greensboro, Ala.; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of North Central Florida.
Jacob Curtis Warren and McKenzie Scout Warren
Jacob Curtis Warren and McKenzie Scout Warren, twins, died soon after birth on Wednesday at Shands at UF.
The children are survived by their parents, Curtis Craig and Karen Ann DeBella Warren of Williston; maternal grandparents, Al and Gloria DeBella of Williston; paternal grandparents, Wayne and Janet Warren of Bronson; maternal great-grandparents, Malcom and Mildred Keen of Williston; maternal great-grandmother, Antoinette DeBella of Williston; and paternal great-grandmother, Gladys Warren of Winterhaven.

Galen Walter Weingart
GREEN COVE SPRINGS -- Galen Walter Weingart died July 7 at Vencor Hospital North Florida. He was 67.
Born in Salem, Ohio, he moved to Bronson from Miami in 1979.
He was a retired machinist.
Mr. Weingart was a Christian.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Brydger of Plantation; two brothers, Don Weingart and Alton Weingart, both of Ohio; four sisters, Blanche Lutz of Gainesville, Berla Ross of Miami and Della Carr and Sandra Groff, both of Ohio; and one granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of God on the Abrahamic Faith in Gainesville.
Angela S. Faria
HIGH SPRINGS - Angela S. Faria of High Springs died Saturday from cancer in the Hospice House in Gainesville. She was 54.
Mrs. Faria was born in New Jersey and moved to High Springs from Miami four years ago. She was a member of the Catholic faith and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Anthony Faria of High Springs; her mother, Jennie DeRosa of High Springs; two sons, Mobbie White of Miami and Anthony Faria Jr. of High Springs; one daughter, Doreen Faria of High Springs; and one sister, Joan Keirstead of Miami.
James Edwin Minesinger
KEYSTONE HEIGHTS - James Edwin Minesinger died Friday from a long illness at the North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville.
He was 87.
Mr. Minesinger was born in Steubenville, Ohio, and moved to Keystone Heights in 1980 from Riverside, Calif. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Gainesville and a retired teacher from Orlando.
Mr. Minesinger is survived by his wife, Helen Minesinger of Keystone Heights; two sons, Jim Minesinger of Keystone Heights and Fred Minesinger of Ocala; one brother, John Minesinger of Takoma Park, Md.; one sister, Ruth Laubach of Wytheville, Va.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the North Central Florida Hospice or the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Gainesville.
Dr. Alvin "Al" Abrams Hardman
LAKE CITY - Dr. Alvin "Al" Abrams Hardman of Lake City died suddenly in his home Friday. He was 61.
Dr. Hardman was born in Sylacauga, Ala., and moved to Lake City in 1995 from Gainesville. He earned his bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Florida.
Dr. Hardman was a fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and he spent several years in teratology research. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, retiring as a major in 1970. He was in private practice in Gainesville before moving to Lake City.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret Montgomery Hardman of Jacksonville; one sister, Dixie Montgomery Hardman of Jacksonville; one daughter, Julie Hardman Preston of Richmond, Va.; and two sons, Alan Daniel Hardman of Gainesville and Gregory Terrell Hardman of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Betty Eloise Jones
OLD TOWN - Betty Eloise Jones of Old Town died Thursday at her home. She was 65.
Mrs. Jones was born in North Liberty, Ind., and moved to Old Town from South Bend, Ind., six years ago. She was a cook, and she attended McCrabb Baptist Church in Old Town.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Jones of Old Town; one son, the Rev. Bill Huffer of South Bend; one stepdaughter, Helenna Eavia of Beloit, Wis.; five brothers, William Huffer of Rochester, Ind., Alvin Huffer of Mishawaka, Ind., Richard Huffer of Ava, Mo., Dewayne Huffer of Trenton, and Michael Huffer of Osceola, Ind.; and one sister, Rebecca Hamilton of Elkhart, Ind.
Harry Melvin "Jack" Kirby
Harry Melvin "Jack" Kirby of Gainesville died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lake City. He was 84.
Mr. Kirby was born in Pawhuska, Okla., and moved to Gainesville from Pawhuska 40 years ago. He was a welder and served in the U.S. Marines and Army during World War II. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Bruce Jaco Sr. Survivors include his wife, Ruth L. Kirby of Gainesville; two sons, Ty Jaco of Summerfield and Arthur Jaco Jr. of Ocala; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Evelyn Middleton Palmour
Evelyn Middleton Palmour of Gainesville died Sunday following an extended illness. She was 85.
Mrs. Palmour was born in Sanderson and moved to Gainesville from Marion County 43 years ago. She was a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, a teacher at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, and was a member of the Gainesville Woman's Club and the Alpha Chi Omega alumni. She attended First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles E. Palmour of Gainesville; two daughters, Mary Palmour Barrett of Marietta, Ga., and Jane Palmour Hutson of Greensboro, N.C.; one son, John Palmour of Gainesville; and one grandson.
Virginia Dare Schafer
Virginia Dare Schafer of Gainesville died Sunday at her home following an extended illness. She was 73.
Mrs. Schafer was born in Virginia and moved to Gainesville in 1967. She was a cashier at the Donut Shop.
Survivors include two sons, Dan Schafer and William Joseph Schafer, both of Gainesville; and two sisters, Mabel Ramey of Virginia and Thelma Powers of Maryland.
John F. Schaff
Dr. John F. Schaff of Gainesville died in his home Saturday. He was 68.
Dr. Schaff was born in Elgin, Ill., and moved to Gainesville from Sylvania, Ohio, two years ago. He was a professor of science education at the University of Toledo in Ohio and was active in many national science organizations. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne D. Schaff of Gainesville; one daughter, Cheryl Lachowski of Sylvania; three sons, Steve Schaff of High Springs, Bruce Schaff of Sylvania and Michael Schaff of Norwood, N.Y.; one brother, Paul Schaff of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; his mother, Lois E. Schaff of Maumee, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Mary Goodman Whiddon
TAMPA - Mary Goodman Whiddon of Tampa died Friday in Plant City following an extended illness. She was 90.
Mrs. Whiddon was born in Gainesville and moved to Tampa from Gainesville in 1946. She was a secretary in a medical office and attended Palma Ceia United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Whiddon was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Whiddon, and her son, Dyal Whiddon. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Virginia Whiddon and Martha Myers, both of Gainesville; and brother-in-law Thomas L. Hyde of Neptune Beach.
Mary Ruth Wilson Williams Loucks
Mary Ruth Wilson Williams Loucks of Gainesville died Saturday at her home. She was 87.
Mrs. Williams was born in Bainbridge, Ga., and moved to Gainesville in 1996.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clarence Williams and George Loucks. Survivors include one son, Clarence Roland Williams of Jacksonville; two daughters, Alice Ann Williams Jones of Gainesville and Pamela Joy Fischette of Souderton, Pa.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dr. Herb William Coone
Dr. Herb William Coone of Gainesville died Saturday. He was 89.
Dr. Coone was born in LaMont, Wash., and moved to Gainesville in 1979 from Manassas, Va. He was a retired physician, author of "Sequential Soldier, " and a World War II prisoner of war in Bataan and Corregidor.
Dr. Coone graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 1934, was a graduate of Harvard Medical School in 1938 and earned a master's degree in public health from Johns Hopkins in 1968.
Dr. Coone was a consultant in internal medicine to the Air Force surgeon general and an alternate governor of the American College of Physicians. He was listed in Who's Who in the South and Southwest and in the Dictionary of International Biography.
Survivors include three daughters, Lucy Coone of Gainesville, Leah Anne H. Kram of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Camillus Sue Tullis of Rusk, Texas; a sister, Lt. Col. Margaret Coone of St. Petersburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Helen J. Crouch
Helen J. Crouch of Gainesville died Saturday in Gainesville. She was 82.
Mrs. Crouch was born in Atlanta and moved to Gainesville from Rhode Island in 1957.
She was a retired schoolteacher.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Crouch was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
She graduated from Stetson University in 1939 and Columbia University in 1941 with a master's degree in early childhood education.
Survivors include her husband, T. Allen Crouch of Gainesville; a godchild, Ann Jenks of Gainesville; and three cousins, Ludie White of Chapel Hill, N.C., Betty Mascari of Somerville, Tenn., and David Harvey of Rome, Ga.
