Anna C. Yonke, 81

Anna C. Yonke, 81, of Citrus Springs, died Wednesday, May 11, 2003, in Citrus Springs. A native of Long Island, N.Y., she moved here in 1985 from Los Angeles, Calif.

Mrs. Yonke was a homemaker. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Hernando, a member of the Beverly Hills Fishing Club, the Beverly Hills Masonic Level Ladies and the Citrus Shrine Club Noblettes.

She is survived by a nephew, William I. Hinson of Fairfield, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Yonke.

Day Buehler, 86 Homosassa

Day William Buehler, 86, Homosassa, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at home under the care of his family.

A native of Detroit, Mich., he came here from St. Helen, Mich., in 1984.

Mr. Buehler retired in 1981 from Federal Reserve Bank, Detroit, Mich., as a maintenance person. Earlier he worked many years as a machinist for Burroughs Adding Machine, formerly in downtown Detroit.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed radio operations.

He was Lutheran.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph C. Buehler.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy A. Buehler of Homosassa; a son, Dennis Buehler of Homosassa; two grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. Fero Funeral Home with Crematory, Beverly Hills.

William Carte, 71 Dunnellon

William D. Carte, 71, Dunnellon, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, in Lecanto.

A native of Follansbee, W.Va., he was the son of Jesse Carl Carte and Evelyn Kath-erine (Shute) Carte. He came here in 1993 from Aripeka.

Mr. Carte was a self-employed finish carpenter who started working with his father when he was 11 years old. He specialized in cabinetry for 60 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was Protestant.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roland and Gene Carte.

Survivors include his former wife, Jody E. Scott of Dunnellon; sons, William D. Carte II of Crystal River and Monty Carte of Ocala; daughters, Janet Swanson of Crystal River and Billie Jo DeSimone of Hernando; four grandchildren.

Virginia Chesterfield, 86 Hollywood

Virginia Hay "Diddy" Chesterfield, 86, Hollywood, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in Ramona, Calif.

She was a homemaker.

She was born in Terre Haute, Ind. She was a longtime resident of Dunnellon and moved to Hollywood from Inverness in 1949.

She was Episcopalian.

Survivors include three sons, Sonny Chesterfield of Dunnellon, Butch Chesterfield of Ramona, Calif., and Kenny Chesterfield of Gainesville; a daughter, Peggy Dixon of Hollywood; a sister, Peggy McGinnes of Zephyrhills; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Louis Galloway, 75 Inverness

The Rev. Louis Ernest Galloway, 75, Inverness, died Friday, May 23, 2003, at home under the care of his family and Hospice.

He was born in Harve De Grace, Md., and came here five years ago. He was the pastor of St. James UAME Church (Cedars) in Darlington, Md., Mount Zion UAME Church in Newark, Del., and Mount Calvary UAME Church in Aberdeen, Md., where he retired. Locally, he was a member of St. James AME Church of Inverness.

He was also a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Galloway; one son, Lemar Galloway of Inverness; two stepsons, Leonard Presberry of Harve De Grace, Md., and Russell Presberry; one stepdaughter, Zilpha Smith of Aberdeen, Md.; one brother, Frederick Galloway of Aberdeen, Md.; four sisters, Frances J. Robinson and Marjorie Holland, both of Harve De Grace, Md., Annabelle Anderson of Aberdeen, Md., and Evelyn Snell of Eutawville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Elmer Gibson, 71 Inverness

Elmer R. Gibson, 71, Inverness, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, in Heron Point of Brooksville.

A native of Virginia, he was born Jan. 20, 1932, to Grant and Mattie Gibson. He moved to Florida in 1976 from Balti-more, Md.

Mr. Gibson was a retired mechanic in the trucking industry and a Korean War veteran.

Survivors include one son, David Gibson of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Darlene Robbins of Woodbine, Md.; two stepsons, Charles of Maryland and Glen of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Paul of Silver Springs, Md., Bill of Georgia and Ron of Seneca Falls, N.Y.; one sister, Glessye Nash of Berkley Springs, Va.; nine grandchildren; and his former wife, Betty Gibson of Inverness.

Albert Jones Jr., 76 Beverly Hills

Albert W. Jones Jr., 76, Beverly Hills, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Inverness.

He was born in Winthrop, Mass., to Albert W. and Helen I. (Snow) Jones Sr. and was a lifelong Winthrop resident until moving to Beverly Hills in 1989.

Mr. Jones was a retired salesman for an office supply company in Boston, Mass., with many years of service.

He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

He was Catholic.

Survivors include cousins Donald and Ann Weeks of Port Charlotte, David and Patricia Jenkins of Orlando; and a nephew and his wife, Larry and Pam Mitchell of Roslindale, Mass.

Charles Mohrmann, 82 Homosassa

Charles "Charlie" Mohr-mann, 82, Homosassa, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

He was born July 26, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Fredrick and Barbara T. Mohrmann and came here in 1986.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge.

He was Lutheran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, in 1986.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Mohrmann and his wife, Barbara, of Homosassa and Charles (Butch) Mohrmann and his wife, Beth, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

James Nobles Jr., 50 Homosassa

James Daniel "Catfish" Nobles Jr., 50, Homosassa, died Monday, May 26, 2003, in Inverness.

Born Aug. 22, 1952, in Sylacauga, Ala., to James and Dollie Nobles, he came here 10 years ago from Ocala.

Mr. Nobles was disabled. He was a U.S. Army veteran and an avid fisherman.

He was Pentecostal.

He was preceded in death by his father, James D. Nobles Sr.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Bonnie Taylor Nobles of Homosassa; son, Jason Nobles of Homosassa; three daughters, Michelle Nobles, Monica Nobles and Amy Nobles all of Homosassa; his mother, Dollie Nobles of Ocoee; one brother, Ed Nobles of Homosassa; three sisters, Ann Adkinson of Ocoee, Pat Smith of Homosassa and Lisa Nobles of Ocoee; and three grandchildren.
