James R. Gerhard, 67

James R. Gerhard, 67, of Dunnellon, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at home. A native of Staten Island, N.Y., he moved here in 1985 from Lake Placid.

Mr. Gerhard was a U.S. Navy Merchant Marine and a life member of the National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his daughter, Debra A. Gerhard of New Jersey; sons, James R. Gerhard of Tampa and Jeffrey S. Gerhard of New Jersey; and a brother, John R. Gerhard of Pembroke Pines.

Kristen A. Kuzbar, 37

Kristen Anne Kuzbar, 37, of New Port Richey, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Florida. A native of Tokyo, Japan, she moved to New Port Richey from Belleview.

Mrs. Kuzbar was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Harry King of New Port Richey; two sons, Nimer Kuzbar and Harry L. King V, both of New Port Richey; mother, Jacqueline Bridwell of Mesa, Ariz.; stepfather, Charles Bridwell of Mesa, Ariz.; two sisters, Darcy Grybko of Dunnellon and Stacie Linebaugh of Fort Lauderdale; two stepbrothers, Kevin Bridwell of Phoenix, Ariz. and Charles Bridwell III of Fullerton, Calif.; two stepsisters, Wendy Grealish of Salt Lake City, Utah and Kathleen Zarat of Park City, Utah; several nieces and nephews.

Roberts Funeral Home of Dunnellon provided the information.

Angel Rodriguez, 74

Angel Luis Rodriguez, 74, of Citrus Springs, died Saturday, May 10, 2003, in Crystal River. He was born in Punce, Puerto Rico, and came to Florida in 1994 from New York, N.Y. He lived between Citrus Springs and Fort Lauderdale.

Mr. Rodriguez was a custodian at Yeshiva University, New York, N.Y., for more than 20 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed his times with family.

Survivors include three sons, Arnaldo Rodriguez of Beverly Hills, Eliud Rodriguez of Citrus Springs and Hirenaldo Rodriguez of Middletown, N.Y.

Also, stepson, Juan A. Lugo of Citrus Springs; three stepdaughters, Zorrida, Gillernuna Lopez and Carmen Saravia, all of Fort Lauderdale; sister, Gladys Grilletto of Staten Island, N.YI.; two brothers, Carlos and Hector Rodriguez, both of Puerto Rico; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Florence V. Marrinan, 93

Florence Veronica (Duggan) Marrinan, 93, of Dunnellon, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto. A native of New York, N.Y., she was born the fourth of nine children to Patrick and Mary Duggan (Greenan). She moved to Rainbow Springs in Dunnellon in 1982 from the New York/Long Island area, where she had lived for over 70 years.

Mrs. Marrinan was a retired teacher in the New York City school system for 50 years, and upon her retirement from teaching in 1982, continued her active pursuit of life by becoming an involved parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon. Her relocation to Dunnellon allowed her also to be near her sister, Anne Merz and brother-in-law John J. Merz.

Florence wed John T. Marrinan in 1943 and they were married for 24 years until his unexpected death from a heart attack in 1967. Until a car accident this past August, she lived independently in her own home in Rainbow Springs. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Survivors include her sister, Anne Merz; sisters-in-law Doris and Maureen Duggan; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many, many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, May 16, 2003, at 9 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Dunnellon, with Father Joseph Pinchock, celebrant. Interment will follow in New York. Friends will be received on Thursday, May 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon, with vigil prayers offered at 7 p.m.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to either Hospice or to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Florence's memory.

Paul F. Meunier, 60

Paul F. Meunier, 60, of Citrus Springs, died Friday, May 9, at his residence. Born March 13, 1943, in Pittsfield, Mass., to Roland and Claire (Bradley) Meunier, he came here in 1999 from Dolcie Point, N.H.

Mr. Meunier was a retired electronics engineer employed by Raytheon. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs and the VFW. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam. He received his bachelor's degree from American International College.

He enjoyed playing chess, fishing, nature photography and computers.

He was preceded in death by a son, John Henry Meunier, and his mother, Claire Meunier.

Survivors include his father, Roland G. Meunier of Pittsfield, Mass.; three sons, Thomas Meunier of Austin, Texas, Robert Meunier and Andrew Meunier, both of Springfield, Mass.; four brothers, Peter Meunier of Hinsdale, Mass., James Meunier of Richmond, Va., John Meunier of Liverpool, N.Y., and Mark Meunier Dalton, Mass.; six sisters, Claire Brown of Tampa, Ann Pariselli, Mary Lou Musacchio and Ellen Meunier, all of Pittsfield, Mass., Margaret McMahon of Richmond, Va. and Catherine Grady of Dalton, Mass.

Edward L. Musho

Edward Louis Musho, of Ocala, died Friday, May 9, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Latrobe, Pa., he came here in 1993 from Fallsington, Pa.

Mr. Musho retired from U.S. Steel Corp. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred; son, Edward David Musho of Levittown, Pa.; daughter, Karen Sue Schaefer of Morrisville, Pa.; brother, Sigfried Musho of Greensburg, Pa.; sister, Sophie Kellner of Yardley, Pa.; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association the St. Jude's Building Fund in memory of Mr. Musho or Hospice of Marion County.

Patricia J. Newell, 63

Patricia J. Newell, 63, of Homosassa, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in Homosassa. A native of Buffalo, N.Y., she came here in 1985 from Belleaire Beach, Fla. She was the daughter of Walter Lockwood (deceased) and Ruth Lockwood of Milford, Mich.

Mrs. Newell owned Jet Springs Car Wash in Homosassa. She was a member of the Homosassa Garden Club, Riverhaven Tennis League, where she enjoyed playing tennis with friends and neighbors, and she was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed traveling, fishing and golfing and loved her family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include her mother, Ruth Lockwood of Milford, Mich.; sons, Stephen Lavoy of Tampa and Brian R. Newell and his wife Cheryl of Dunnellon; two sisters, Beatrice Moore of Mesa, Ariz., and Phyllis Motley of Milford, Mich.; five grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.

Franklin Downward Sr., 85 St. Petersburg

Franklin H. Downward Sr., 85, St. Petersburg, died, Friday, June 13, 2003, in St. Petersburg.

He was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Bethlehem, Pa., to Walter and Angela Martin Downward. He moved to the area in 1957 from Philadelphia, Pa.

He was a building contractor.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served during World War II.

He was former Boy Scout and Sea Scout leader.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Emma Remley Downward of Inverness; three sons, David H. Downward of Seminole, Franklin H. Downward Jr. of Palm Harbor and James E. Downward of Casselberry; three daughters, F. Joan Mac Quarrie of Inverness, Lorraine E. Downward of St. Petersburg and Virginia E. Chandler of Newnan, Ga.; sister, Linda Walker of Glen Mills, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Arthur Green Jr., 63 Dunnellon

Arthur Daniel Green Jr., 63, Dunnellon, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Crystal River Health and Rehab Center.

A native of St. Louis County, Mo., he moved to the area in 1976 from Cokia, Ill.

He was a security guard who worked at an area recreational vehicle park.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was Catholic.

Survivors include two daughters, Patty Greene of Wichita, Kan., and Krista Bollinger of Dunnellon; and three grandchildren.

MaryAnn Nash, 78 Inverness

MaryAnn Nash, 78, Inverness, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Citrus County.

She was born Jan. 12, 1925, in Enfield, Conn., to Louis and Alice (Brunnelle) Gamache. She was one of nine children. She moved to the area 14 years ago from West Palm Beach.

Mrs. Nash was a retired clerk for the Flowers Baking Co. of West Palm Beach.

She enjoyed bowling and mahjong.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; Fred and Paul Gamache of Enfield, Conn., Louis Gamache of Berkely, Ill., and Donald Gamache of Willimantic, Conn.; two sisters, Alice Caliento of Waterbury, Conn., and Jean Nasuta of Enfield, Conn.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Jack Nash; son, Robert Winthers of Stuart; two daughters, Patricia Rothenburg and her husband, Bill, of Royal Palm Beach and Lois King and her husband, Billy, of Ware, Mass.; brother, William Gamache of Enfield, Conn.; sister, Doris Ouimet of Hampden, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Jack Nash and his wife, Paula, of Jupiter; Pam Morrison and her husband, John, of Melbourne; Gail Holland and her husband, Bobby, of Middleburg.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of Citrus County, 3350 W. Audubon Park Path, Lecanto, FL 34461.
