Shirley Grace Roney, 73, died Monday, July 7, 2003, at her home in Homosassa. She was born in Lewiston, Maine to Frank and Lilly (Astafan) Bourisk. She came to this area from St. Petersburg and has lived here 21 years.

She was retired from Florida Power Corp. where she was a secretary.

She was a member of the U.S. Airforce and a Navy veteran and served 22 years. She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Crystal River.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jack Roney of Homosassa; and a brother, Randy Bourisk of Lewiston, Maine.

Geraldine Wallen, 84 Inverness

Geraldine E. Wallace, 84, died Saturday, July 5, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born May 2, 1919, in Monmouth, Ill. to George and Mary Taylor. She came to this area 36 years ago.

She was a homemaker.

She attended First United Methodist Church in Inverness.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Col. Francis L. Wallen of Inverness; a son, John T. (Marti) Wallen of Inverness; two daughters, Sandy L. Nichols of Inverness, and Cathy (Bobby) McKettrick of Williston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Donald Ashley, 83 Lecanto

Donald Hayward Ashley, 83, Lecanto, died Friday, July 11, 2003, in Inverness.

A native of Detroit, Mich., he was born March 2, 1920, to Dr. Byron and Edna Ashley. He came here in 1989 from Ft. Lauderdale.

Mr. Ashley retired from the commercial real estate business.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Joan Ashley.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Alice Mahler Ashley of Lecanto; son James C. Ashley of Ft. Lauderdale; and a sister, Marjorie Dewey of Colorado Springs, Col.

Leeford Ashmeal, 50 Crystal River

Leeford Ashmeal, 50, Crystal River, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice.

Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on June 17, 1953, he came here 20 years ago.

He was employed at the Metal Industries in Crystal River for 15 years. He worked at Wal-mart and was a professional landscaper.

He enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his companion, Rebecca Rothwell of Crystal River; two daughters, Aleeah Jade Rothwell-Ashmeal and Taylor Rothwell, both of Crystal River; two daughters in Jamaica; and step-children in Ocala.

Louise Brimmage, 80 Floral City

Louise Wilma Brimmage, 80, Floral City, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Inverness.

Born on Oct. 18, 1922, in Lakeland to Mike and Nina (Cook) Harris, she came here in 1994 from Istachatta.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Pentacostal Church of Inverness.

Mrs. Brimmage was preceded in death by her husband, David, on Aug. 29, 2001.

Survivors include two brothers, Mike Harris of Niles, Mich., and Redreick Harris of Dunkinville, Texas; one sister, Tommy Selito of Philadelphia, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Elva Brown, 87 Beverly Hills

Elva L. Brown, 87, Beverly Hills, died Saturday, July 7, 2003, at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto.

A native of Everton, Mo., she came here from Upper Saddle River, N.J., 20 years ago.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness. She enjoyed singing in the choir at the church and her church in New Jersey. She was a former Sunday School teacher in New Jersey.

She loved children.

Survivors include her husband of more than 57 years, Vaughn E. Brown Sr., of Beverly Hills; two sons, Vaughn E. Brown Jr., of Midland, Mich., and Brouce T. Brown of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Myrl Castledine, 81 Hernando

Myrl I. Castledine, 81, Hernando, died Monday July 9, 2003, in St. Louis, Mo.

She retired from Ft. Benjamin Harrison Federal Finance Center, Indianapolis, Ind., as a management analyst.

She was born May 23, 1922, in Stuartstown, Pa., to Walter and Nora Irene Webb. She came here from Indianapolis, Ind., in 1979.

Mrs. Castledine was a volunteer at Hernando Elementary School for years.

She attended Hernando United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Sylvia Castledine of St. Louis, Mo., Gayle (Steve) Wetherell of Ft. Wright, Ky., and Linda Castledine of Bloomington, Ind.; one brother, Ken (Pat) Webb of Hernando; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Madeline Gencorelli, 100 Beverly Hills

Madeline E. Eastlund Gencorelli, 100, Beverly Hills, died Friday, July 11, 2003, in Crystal River.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Edward Morse Bailey and Margurite (Ferrington) Bailey, she came here from Long Island, N.Y., in 1970.

She retired after 25 years with Neptune Water Meter Co., in Queens, N.Y. She was a bookkeeper.

Mrs. Gencorelli attended Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Citrus Springs. She volunteered at the Key Center in the 1970s teaching crafts. She was a former member of the Senior Center Craft Club in Lecanto.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Daniel Eastlund in 1948; and second husband, George, on Oct. 22, 2002.

Survivors include her daughter, Madelyn Eastlund Hickey of Beverly Hills; two grandchildren, Deborah Louise Halstead-Johnson and husband John of Citrus Springs, and Daniel John Halstead and wife Kelly of Valencia; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Hoeppner, 80 Dunnellon

Robert Merlin Hoeppner, 80, Dunnellon, died Friday, July 11, 2003, in Dunnellon.

Born in Cherokee, Iowa, he came here in 2000 from Lehigh Acres.

Mr. Hoep-pner was retired from the U.S. Air Force. He served during World War II.

He attended the Dunnellon Assembly of God.

He was a Mason.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha Hoeppner of Dunnellon; son Robert Wesley of LaQuinta, Calif.; two daughters, Deb Sternberg of Antioch, Ill., and Colleen Spillman of Dunnellon; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
