George D. Jones, 52, of Dunnellon, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Ocala. A native of Miami, he moved here in 1989.

Mr. Jones was a trucking dispatcher. He was Episcopal.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; sons, Christopher Jones, George Jones and Jason Jones, all of Dunnellon; daughters, Lori Hicks and Katie Jones, both of Dunnellon; and four grandchildren.

Rita Bland, 84 Inverness

Rita Margaret Bland, 84, Inverness, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born July 31, 1918, in Adrian, Ga., to Lonnie and Anna Curl and came here in 1989 from Tampa.

Mrs. Bland was a retired clerk from Hillsborough County Building and Zoning Department.

She was a member of First Church of God and OES Chapter 65, both of Inverness.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, James W. Bland of Inverness; one son, Lonnie (Lois) Bell of Tampa; two daughters, Evelyn E. (Chuck) Artis of Oldsmar and Rita (Pete) Alfieri of Inverness; two brothers, Lonnie (Mary) Curl of Sebring and Joe (Bonnie) Curl of Chandler, Ariz.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

John 'Jack' Hamilton, 84 Homosassa

John "Jack" Hamilton, 84, Homosassa, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Crystal River.

He was born July 27, 1919, in Decatur, Ill., to John R. Hamilton and Iva Hays and came here in 1984.

Mr. Hamilton was self-employed in the grain industry, owned and operated the Hamilton School Bus Service and was on the Advisory Council of Butler Manufactur-ing Co.

He was the chief of the Fire Department in Decatur, a trustee of South Wheatland Fire Department and was a member of Crime Watch of Chassahowitzka.

Mr. Hamilton attended the First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marie Gragg of Homosassa; son and daughter-in-law, David Hamilton (Debbie) of Homosassa; daughter, Dianne DeVore of Decatur, Ill.; son-in-law, Eric DeVore of Decatur, Ill.; sister and husband, Barbara Walker (Haven) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Chassahowitzka.

Walter Lange, 87 Inverness

Walter A. Lange, 87, Inverness, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital.

Born July 1, 1916, in Gulfport, La., to Samuel and Bertha Lange, he came here in 1973 from St. Petersburg.

Mr. Lange was a car salesman.

He was Protestant.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Celestine Lange; four sons, Michael Lange and wife, Betty, of Orlando, Timothy Lange and wife, Maureen, of West Palm Beach, Jay Lange of Inverness and Patrick Lange; two daughters, Shaun Rose and husband, Michael, of Floral City, and Patricia Turner and husband, Edward, of Brooksville; one sister, Gretchen Comles of Ocala; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Herta Szocs, 93 Lecanto

Herta Szocs, 93, Lecanto, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, in Lecanto.

She was born Nov. 24, 1909, in Germany to Carl and Ida Jurgensen.

She was a professional model.

She is survived by her sister, Ingaborg Djeddah of Mendon, Mass.

Lena Welliever, 92 Brooksville

Lena Simpson Welliever, 92, formerly of Floral City, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Brooksville Regional Hospital.

A native of Quitman, Ga., she was born Sept. 23, 1910, to Joel and Georgia Simpson. She came to Florida in 1993 from the Atlanta area.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Seth Welliever; her brothers, Elan, Olin, Alvin and Bernard Simpson; and her sister, Leola Rayfield.

There are no immediate survivors.

Irene 'Ginger' Gross, 88 Lecanto

Irene Marie "Ginger" Gross, 88, Lecanto, died Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Barrington Place in Lecanto.

She was born April 21, 1915, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Ira and Alice Rita Hamm. She moved here from Palm Bay two years ago.

Mrs. Gross was a retired self-employed grocer.

She was a member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Ashtabula, Ohio; the DAV, VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Alice Decaire of Crystal River, Joanne Letky of Atlanta, Ga., Dianne Ann Pritchett of Palm Bay and Virginia Joy Hayes of London, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Helen Master-Walker, 86 Beverly Hills

Helen Master-Walker, 86, Beverly Hills, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, in Hernando.

She was born June 25, 1917, in Detroit, Mich., to Michael and Mary Civan. She came here from Southfield, Mich., in 1987.

Mrs. Master-Walker was a homemaker, loved sewing, and attended First Presbyterian Church of Inverness.

She was a volunteer with the Beverly Hills Fire Department and the Beverly Hills Surveillance Unit.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Frank J. Walker Jr. of Beverly Hills; three sons, James Master and wife, Katy, of Hudsonville, Mich., Frank J. Walker III and wife, Pamela, of Troy, Mich., and Thomas Walker of Warren, Mich.; four daughters, Jeri Doroshewitz and husband, John, of Rochester Hills, Mich., Susan Schairer of Michigan, Janice Trepanowski and husband, Stephen, of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Mary Jo Schmidt and husband, Clifford, of Waterford, Mich.; and 15 grandchildren.

Rita Morisset, 84 Winter Park

Rita Gregoire Morisset, 84, Winter Park, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in the care of her family and Winter Park Towers.

Born Sept. 28, 1918, in Black Lake, P.Q. Canada, she moved to Miami in 1954 and then to Central Florida in 1988.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Rheo, and a grandson, Michael.

Surviving are one son, Vincent L. (Jacqueline) of Inverness; two daughters, Louise M. Lowe (Lawrence) of Winter Park and Celine M. Codd (R. Trent Jr.) of Fairview, N.C.; brother, Ernest Gregoire of Canada; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul's Bereavement Ministry, 5300 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, FL 32792.

Richard Beilig, 72 Beverly Hills

Richard H. Beilig, 72, Beverly Hills, died Sunday, July 27, 2003, in Lecanto.

Born Dec. 24, 1930, in Chicago, Ill., to Kurt and Klara Beilig, he came here from Traverse City, Mich., in 1998.

Mr. Beilig was vice president of accounting for Seimens Corp.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was Lutheran.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, June Colling Beilig of Beverly Hills; sister, Eleanor Ivan of Mountain Home, Alaska; and grandson, Jesse Lee Beilig.
