Wendy Dodson Colson, 40, Hudson, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, in Tampa.

She was born in Williston and moved to Hudson from Clearwater in 1983.

Mrs. Colson was manager of Bijour Jewelers in New Port Richey for 20 years.

Survivors include husband, Bryant Colson of Hudson; father, Alvin Edward Dodson of Tampa; stepson, Billy Colson of Washington, Mo.; brother, Alvin Leroy Dodson of Sarasota; and sister, Karen Chrjapin of Clarks Hill, S.C.

Walter Epps Jr., 71 Inglis

Walter P. Epps Jr., 71, Inglis, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, in Inglis.

He was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Memphis, Tenn., to Walter and Nellie Epps. He was a longtime resident of Homosassa.

Mr. Epps was a retired teacher and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He was an avid fisherman

He was Baptist.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia King, of Homosassa.

Ida Latham, 98 Inverness

Ida Belle Latham, 98, Inverness, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, in Inverness.

She was born May 5, 1905, in Girard, Ohio, to Max and Katherine Schubert. She came here 20 years ago from Orient, L.I., N.Y.

She was a retired department store buyer.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Inverness.

Mrs. Latham was preceded in death by husband, Irvin Latham, on Jan. 6, 1996, and son, Milton E. Emch, in 1955.

Survivors include daughter, Dr. Jo Anne Hecker of Boca Raton; daughter-in-law, Julia Emch of Howland Township, Mich.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Max Leake Sr., 77 Beverly Hills

Max W. Leake Sr., 77, Beverly Hills, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

He was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Raymond C. and Emily H. (Ensslin) Leake, and was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh until five and a half years ago.

Mr. Leake retired in 1998 as an electrician/troubleshooter with the steel industry. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served with the 101st Airborne Infantry.

He was a builder of radio controlled model airplanes, an avid hunter and fisherman and loved golfing.

He was a member of the Rock Crusher Road First Church of God, Crystal River.

He was preceded in death by sister, Melva Volk.

Survivors include wife of 47 years, Marian Leake of Beverly Hills; son, Max W. Leake Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two daughters, Darlene Ashley of Carlsbad, Calif., and Lynne Hamil and husband, Richard, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; brother, Don Leake and wife, Margaret, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four sisters, Doris Fowle and husband, Sam, of Orlando, Shirley Marini and husband, Carm, Patsy Cambest and husband, Joe, all of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Lorraine McCreary of Beverly Hills; and two grandsons. Elwood Schrader, 77 Beverly Hills

Elwood Russell Schrader, 77, Beverly Hills, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.

He was born June 18, 1926, to Earl and Mabel (Covey) Schrader and came here in 1996 from his native Sayre, Pa.

Mr. Schrader was a retired production control manager in the air tool manufacturing industry and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was also a retired fire chief of Sayre, Pa., Engine Co. No. 1.

His memberships included the Salvation Army of Citrus County, past exalted ruler of the Sayre Elks Lodge No. 1148, Sayre VFW Post No. 01536, charter member of the Ambulance Corps of Sayre and American Legion Post of Athens, Pa.

He was Protestant.

Survivors include wife of 60 years, Winifred (Cooper) Schrader; five sons, Donald R. and James F., both of Sayre, Pa., Elwin R. "Corky" of Warner Robins, Ga., Thomas E. of Merritt Island, and Jeffrey S. of Ashland City, Tenn.; daughter, Patricia Ann Seager of Big Flats, N.Y.; sister, Maj. Janice Schrader, Salvation Army (Ret.) of Beverly Hills; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Melvin Snowden, 80 Inverness

Melvin E. Snowden, 80, Inverness, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Mr. Snowden was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Ocala. He was a cattle rancher and the former owner of the Aqua View and Sea Breeze Motels in Panama City Beach.

Mr. Snowden was a member of the First Assembly of God of Inverness.

He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Snowden.

Survivors include wife, Joyce Snowden of Inverness; three daughters, Melvyne Carpenter of Marlette, Mass., Donna Goossen of Forest City, N.C., and Michele Rush of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Steve Snowden of Destin and Chip Snowden of Idaho; two stepchildren, Michael Holley of Lakeland and Sally Poteete of Inverness; sister, Dollie Thompson of Belleview; 27 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Robert Daley, 73 Inverness

Robert Eugene Daley, 73, Inverness, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Inverness.

Born Feb. 5, 1930, in Deansboro, N.Y., to Clinton and Kathaleen Daley, he came here in 1993 from Rochester, N.Y.

Mr. Daley was a machinist for Eastman Kodak and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church, Lecanto, Harry H. Nesbitt VFW Post 10087, Beverly Hills, Blanton-Thompson American Legion Post No. 155, Crystal River, and the Rainbow River Club.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Joyce Miller Daley of Beverly Hills; one son, David M. Swieton (Laurie) of Rochester, N.Y.; two daughters, Kathleen Brown (Chris) of Oldsmar and Jacqueline Ann Daley of Fort Myers; one brother, Charles Daley of Waterville, N.Y.; two sisters, Noreen Machold of Deansboro, N.Y., and Karen Nelson of Cassville, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Angela DeJiulio, 82 Ocala

Angela Mary DeJiulio, 82, Ocala, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at TimberRidge Rehabilitation Center, Ocala.

Born in Torrice, Italy, she had resided in the Ocala area since 2002 and was formerly of Largo.

Mrs. DeJiulio was a homemaker and was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, August J. DeJiulio of Ocala; five sons, Joseph DeJiulio of Beverly Hills, Thomas DeJiulio of Albany, N.Y., Felix DeJiulio, Frank DeJiulio, both of Ocala, and the Rev. David DeJiulio of Tampa; sister, Annita Poquette of St. Petersburg; two half sisters, Marguerite Panfili and Marie Panfili, both of Berthierville, Canada; one half brother, Louis Panfili of Berthierville, Canada; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Thomas McCardle, 56 Sun City

Thomas D. McCardle, 56, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at Life Path Hospice House in Sun City.

Born Aug. 1, 1947, in Fond Du Lac, Wis., to John and Edna McCardle, he came here in 2001 from Wisconsin.

Mr. McCardle was a retired automotive parts salesman.

He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the DAV, American Legion and Loyal Order of the Moose.

He was an avid golfer, and coin collector. He loved to travel.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Tom (Ellen) McCardle and Mike (Traci) McCardle of Wisconsin; stepdaughter, Amy (Brian) Fisher of Wisconsin; stepson, Todd (Andi) Salaj of Wisconsin; a brother and a sister, both of Wisconsin; and eight grandchildren all of Wisconsin.

He will be buried with full military honors.
