Blair Begyn, 24 Cape Coral

Blair Thomas Begyn, 24, Cape Coral, formerly of Coal Valley, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon in Henry County, Ill.

He was born Jan. 25, 1979, in Silvis, Ill., to Gregory J. and Roxanne Koehn Begyn. He graduated from Moline High School in 1998 and attended American Institute of Commerce.

He married Jennifer Shepard on Sept. 3, 2000, in Rock Island, Ill.

He was a corporate driver for New World Van Lines for the past four years. He was the youngest driver in the company's history to be given his own truck.

Blair had been an altar boy at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and loved fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer of Coal Valley, Ill.; two sons, Ryan and Matthew of Coal Valley, Ill.; father, Gregory Begyn of Coal Valley, Ill.; mother and stepfather, Roxanne and Steven Peterson of Coal Valley, Ill.; brother, Andrew Begyn of Coal Valley, Ill.; paternal grandparents, John and Sharon Begyn of Milan, Ill.; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Edith Koehn of Davenport, Ill., and Giles and Lola Czupka of Inverness.

Emily Carlock, 86 Spring Hill

Emily F. Carlock, 86, Spring Hill, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in Brooksville.

She was born in Bronx, N.Y., to Herman G. and Mathilda (Ebinger) Haag. She moved to Spring Hill from Homosassa six years ago.

Mrs. Carlock retired after 25 years as a legal secretary in Demarest, N.J.

She was Lutheran and she was a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She was a member of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include husband of 63 years, James Carlock of Spring Hill; daughter, Jan Pope of New Port Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice.

Robert Dennany Sr., 77 Beverly Hills

Robert D. Dennany Sr., 77, Beverly Hills, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, in Beverly Hills.

Mr. Dennany was born July 29, 1926 in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Michael and Maxine Dennany.

He was a paper maker for Allied Paper. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an avid wood craftsman.

Mr. Dennany was a member of St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto.

He was preceded in death by brother, Michael Dennany.

Survivors include wife of 21 years, Patricia Dennany of Beverly Hills; seven sons, Robert Dennany Jr. of Lapeer, Mich., Bruce Taber of Shell Lake, Wis., Gregory Dennany of Grand Rapids, Mich., Gerald "Jerry" Dennany, Scot Taber, Mark Taber and Dale Taber all of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five daughters, Patricia Banner and Judith Taylor, both of Allegan, Mich., Sandra Snow and Charlene Kulikowski, both of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Diedra Dalmann of Cary, Mich.; two brothers, Daniel Dennany and David Dannany, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two sisters, Juanita Smith and Lola Rita Agner, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; 32 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Noah N. Guy, 73 Floral City

Noah N. Guy, 73, Floral City, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County.

Born June 1, 1930, in Waycross, Ga., to Clarence and Ruth (Griffin) Guy, he moved here in 1989 from Tampa, where he resided for more than 30 years.

Mr. Guy retired from J&M; Gas Pump Company of Tampa as a service technician with eight years of service. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was an avid bass fisherman.

Survivors include wife of 55 years, Frances (Kirkland) Guy; son, Jerry L. (Diann) Guy of St. Petersburg; daughter, Laverne (Tom) Howie of Land O' Lakes; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Alan Hamilton, 61 Inverness

Alan Walker Hamilton, 61, Inverness, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, in Inverness.

Born June 17, 1942, in Fairmount, W.Va., to Walker and Georgia Hamilton, he moved here two years ago from St. Petersburg.

Mr. Hamilton was a driver for Walker Ford.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Frances Knapp Hamilton of Inverness.

Elsie Ogle, 74 Hernando

Elsie Melvina Ogle, 74, Hernando, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, in Mariner Health Care of Inverness.

A native of Manchester, Ga., she was born Oct. 12, 1929, to Ira Eugene and Willie Herring. She moved here 55 years ago from Carrollton, Ga.

Mrs. Ogle was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, William Huey Ogle Jr. of Hernando; son, William Huey "Billy" Ogle III and wife, JoAnn, of Hernando; daughter, Brenda Jean LaPerle and husband, David, of Hernando; brother, Walter Herring of Carrollton, Ga.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Thelma Sassard, 78 Crystal River

Thelma Marie Sassard, 78, Crystal River, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River.

She was born Sept. 6, 1925 in Floral City to Adair and Emma (Adkins) Terry and was a lifelong resident of Crystal River.

Mrs. Sassard was a member of the Red Level Baptist Church of Red Level.

She enjoyed collecting dolls and was a seamstress.

Survivors include husband of 57 years, Nolan Sassard of Crystal River; four sons, Terry (Trish) Sassard of Yosemite, Ky., Nolan David (Gloria) Sassard of St. Cloud, Tommie (Leah) Sassard of Crystal River and S. Sgt. Lester M. Sassard of Fort Hood, Texas - Tikrit, Iraq; daughter, Nancy Allen (John) of Holder; sister, Margaret Kazron of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Harold Sikes, 77 Homosassa

Harold Lee Sikes, 77, Homosassa, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at his home.

He was born Dec. 7, 1925, in Leesburg and moved here from Atlanta, Ga., 14 years ago.

Mr. Sikes was a retired long distance truck driver and served four years in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

He was Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mary Jane Sikes.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Sikes (Patsy) of Loganville, Ga., and Charles Sikes (Patsy) of Lawrenceville, Ga.; daughter, Mary Lee White (Jimmy) of Homosassa; two granddaughters and three grandsons.

Arlie Clara Steele, 81, Dunnellon, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, in Dunnellon.

Mrs. Steele was born in Sand Fork, W.Va., and moved here in 1987 from Ludlow Falls, Ohio.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of United Church of Christ in Ludlow Falls, Ohio, the American Legion in Ohio, the Eagles in West Milton, Ohio, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Hernando.

Survivors include three sons, Roy A. Steele of Huber Heights, Ohio, Donnie L. Steele of Jamestown, Ohio, and Johnie D. Steele of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; three daughters, Alberta F. "Bert" Roberts and Sonda K. Miller, both of Dunnellon, and Carolyn S. Brumbaugh of Bradford, Ohio; brother, William McCullough of Phillipsburg, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.
