Edward Hart Jr., 81 Crystal River

Edward Isaac Hart Jr., 81, Crystal River, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River.

Born Feb. 18, 1922, in Arlington, Mass., to Edward I. And Mabel (Mack) Hart Sr., he moved to this area 18 years ago from Littleton, Mass.

Mr. Hart retired as a supervisor with the W.R. Grace Chemical Co. in Acton, Mass., after 35 years of service. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa, the American Legion Post 155 of Crystal River, Loyal Order of Moose 2013 of Homosassa and the West Citrus Elks 2693 of Homosassa.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley Hart of Crystal River; two sons, John Stewart Hart of Lowell, Mass., and Arthur Edward Hart of Salem, N.H.; one daughter, Cheryl L. Fitzgerald of Concord, Mass.; one sister, Marion Fletcher of Acton, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Gladys Mabry, 91 Plant City

Gladys J. Mabry, 91, Plant City, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003.

Mrs. Mabry was born in Arcadia, a lifelong resident of Plant City and member of Turkey Creek First Baptist Church for 80 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles Love Mabry.

Survivors include two daughters, Joann Coates of Plant City and Cathie Bramlett of Crystal River; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Roland Mason, 86 Inverness

Roland E. Mason, 86, Inverness, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, in Inverness.

He was born July 11, 1917 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, to Emery and Marie Mason. He moved here in 2001.

Mr. Mason worked for a Union Camp for a chemical plant.

While serving in the U.S. Navy he was involved in six major landings in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge in New Philadelphia, Ohio; life member of the VFW; and the National Rifle Association.

He was Protestant.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mason of Inverness; son, Ron "Bus" Mason of New Philadelphia, Ohio; stepson, Sal Dabbraccio of Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Carolyn Dabbraccio of Astoria, N.Y., and Sally Garcia of Inverness; a sister, Katherine Minnis of Raton, N.M.; two grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

J. Michael Shore, 67 Homosassa

John Michael Shore, 67, Homosassa, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, in Brooksville.

Mr. Shore was born March 17, 1937, in Chesterfield, England, to Donald and Edith (Woffenden) Shore. He moved here four years ago from Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was a retired high school teacher, Taylor Allderdice High School, Pittsburgh, Pa., where he taught advance placement physics for 30 years.

Mr. Shore served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a staff sergeant.

He was a former Kiwanis member in Pennsylvania, was involved with the outreach program with Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa., and was on the Sugarmill Woods Bowling League.

He dabbled in photography and enjoyed lighthouses.

He was Protestant.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Barbara (Gill) Shore of Homosassa; two sons, Paul Shore (Michelle) of Gainesville and Mark Shore of Pittsburgh, Pa.; stepdaughter, Susan Reisch of Decatur, Ga.; stepson, Donald Reisch of King George, Va.; two grandsons; two brothers, Roger Shore of Arizona and Martin Shore of Canada; and a stepsister, Sheila, of England.

Evelyn White, 90 Inverness

Evelyn P. White, 90, Inverness, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, in Homosassa.

She was born Nov. 9, 1913, in Otego, N.Y., to Timothy and Mary Place. She moved here in 1985 from West Oneonta, N.Y.

Mrs. White was a retired hairdresser and a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley White Sr., in 1995; and her son, Stanley White Jr., in 1971.

Survivors include her sister, Irene Hogan of Sugarmill Woods, Homosassa; grandchildren, Chrystal White Yoder and Ronald White. both of Nevada; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Hospice of Citrus County.

Karl C. Burrus, 89, Ocala, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, in Ocala.

He was born May 30, 1914, in Assumption, Ill. to Richard and Etta Burrus.

In 1999, he moved to the Citrus Springs/Dunnellon area.

He was a truck driver.

He was a member of the West Carrollton Masonic Lodge No. 737 and the AF & AM in Dayton, Ohio.

He was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Dunnellon.

His wife, Doris J. Burrus, preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sons, Danny Burrus of Washburn, Tenn., Michael Wahl of Thornhill, Tenn. and Karl Burrus of Jasper, Ala.; two daughters, Belinda Bleam of Ocala and Patricia Kuzujanakis of Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, Dwight Burrus of Assumption, Ill.

Marie Irene Moran, 93, Inverness

Marie Irene Moran, 93, Inverness, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, in Woodland Terrace, Hernando.

She was born on Sept. 24, 1910, in Spencer, Mass. to Joseph and Florina Prince.

She moved to Florida in 1965 from New York City.

She was a retired secretary.

She was Catholic.

Survivors include three sons, Donald F. of Beverly Hills, Edward P. of New York City, and James R. of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Arthur Prince of Winter Haven; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Virginia Morrison Myers, 91, Dunnellon, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, in Dunnellon.

She was a native of Penn, Pa.

She moved from Jeanette, Pa. to Miami in 1944, and then to Dunnellon in 1980.

She was Baptist and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Rainbow Lakes.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Morrison.

Survivors include her husband, Earl Myers of Dunnellon; brother, Wesley Herrholz of Dunnellon and a sister, Clanthia Kolehmainen of Dunnellon.
